Sam Finden is author of four novels, including the wildly popular Daniel Foss trilogy. He began writing in his teens, penning short stories about lands uninhabited. His novels embrace the theme of doing the right thing, and he writes his characters to embody sound judgment.

Many of the characters in "Saddle My Good Horse" are based on acquaintances he made while bouncing around the west. With the release of "Lone Wolf", readers met Daniel Foss, a character sure to capture the imagination of any wide-eyed soul who yearns to be outdoors. Completing the series are "Big Cat Challenge" and "Grizzly Bear Gamble."

Balancing writing, riding, and hunting, Sam continues to get inspiration for the basis of his books from his encounters on the trail. Sam is currently cultivating ideas for his next big adventure--and book.

Very short love story about a predator hunter and a young woman trying to find herself. But they seem to like each other. Who knows what this will grow into?

Bought this at a flea market from the author in Big Sky, MT, and it was a nice bit of local flavor. Bought two more books from another local author that I'll hope to read soon.

Parents, vet this book BEFORE giving it to your teenagers!

Daniel, 22, has been hired by Wendigo Ltd. to sort out a predator problem on their ranch in north western Montana, just south of Kalispell. Daniel is a predator hunter for hire! He is the most referred man in his line of work. His job isn't just to go in and kill the wolves. First the animals have to be studied and surveyed. After this is completed he then will talk to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to discuss how many to cull.

Who is Marissa? What is she doing camping by herself in bear country? Will she see the dangers and let Daniel protect her?

Whilst this was a well-written book that I, as an adult, enjoyed it is IMPORTANT to note that this book is not as clean as some may presume. Yes, it is a Christian novel and Daniel is VERY restrained and respectful of Marissa. HOWEVER there is a scene when he sees her naked coming out of the "shower". Whilst no details are given, boys of the age this book is intended for do not need a description to get their hormone flooded minds imagining. I am SO glad that I read this book before putting it in the hands of our teenager. This scene did not need to be in the book and I will NOT be passing it along. Thanks, Liz

Writing could use some polish. I'd like to see some deeper character development, but the story is good. I met Sam at a market in Montana where I bought this book. I enjoyed our chat about books, writing, Montana and Idaho, ranching, and life in general. I'll be looking up his other books, too.

Awesome read! Loved this short story. Informative, entertaining, and totally believable. The author's knowledge of the Montana back country, live stock , and nature in general shines in this story of the bond of a you man and nature, and the relationship that is forged when he comes to grips with the romance of a young woman.

Lost in the back country. I would definitely read another short story written by this author. Good read, and great job!
