I can never go wrong with a Dior Madrigal book. I often feel like she can read my mind and know what I crave for in my romance. She's a master at building up the right amount of angst and sexual tension. She's good at relationship and character development, too. It's also commendable how she can create characters with actual depth, relatability, and believability, given how short most of her books are.

Pero may issues lang ako with this particular story. Nakulangan ako nang kaunti sa pighati; I wanted more pain and feels and anger. Gusto ko nang umiyak pero the scenes always fell short for me to do so. I also wanted Raphael(H) to be...harsher and crueler? More of an asshole? Now THAT would've delivered on the angst that I desperately wanted. Things just wrapped up too quickly and too conveniently for my taste. I think this would've worked out better if it were longer than it was. The story would've been better; it's not that this was bad, but it has a lot of unmet potential, Raphael and Cassie(h) especially.

Also, I was honestly looking forward for a scene where Cassandra would be on the brink of death and Raphael would agonize over it because I'm a sadomasochist who want the main characters to suffer before they get their HEA, pero napunta kay Alicia 'yung scene na 'yon. HUHU. Saklaugh. I don't hate Alicia, not really, but I feel like she could've offered more in the story, if only it were longer, as what I already mentioned earlier. Raphael and Cassie's relationship could've been developed more, too. I needed an epilogue, at least 😭

But considering that this was a short book, I understand that it would've shortcomings, story-wise. A limited word count always compromises a good story 😩 All in all, if this was written by another author, it probably wouldn't have worked for me, and I wouldn't be as invested, but Ms. Dior made it work for the most part.

Those are just my gripes though, and they honestly wouldn't dissuade me from reading more of her books. They're my comfort reads and palate cleansers. I cant wait to buy and read more of them soon 💛✨

This is still one of my favorite Dior Madrigal stories. The pain, the tension, the denial in Raphael's part... Chef's kiss!

The only thing I find missing is the lack of "life and death" situation on Cassie's part. Well, for this kind of tropes, I can't help but to look for something like this. I just wish DM could write a longer version of this because I can only imagine how beautiful this story would turn out to be if that's the case.

However, despite that, Their Happy Ending will always be one of comfort stories ♥
