Lainy is getting a pet fish! She is so excited because her parents wouldn't let her have one for so long! She chose a fish but it is such a hard decision! She looks into a big fish tank and an orange fish swims right up to her! She picks that one and names him Sunny.
When Lainy goes to Never Land with her friends, Mia, Kate, and Abby, she loses Sunny in the water! They look everywhere but they can't find him. They go to the lagoon and there are mermaids on the rocks.
One of the mermaids knows where Sunny is. When they see him he is too big to fit in his fishbowl. The mermaid adopts him as her pet.

I would recommend this book because there is a new fairy I hadn't heard about before that has something interesting about it.

My eight year old daughter and I have read all of The Never Girls books. Book #11 does not disappoint. I like the Never Girls series for the enchantment of a fairy land with access from "our world", the dilemmas and problems the girls and fairies face, the logic and pragmatic approach to solving their uncertainties, all the while teaching solid values of friendship, loyalty, trust, and courage. As an adult, I am reminded that I need to keep a little pixie dust in my pocket for the courage to do things a little more adventurous from time to time.

114 pgs. In this episode, Lainey gets a pet - a goldfish! She wants to share it with the fairies in Pixie Hollow but he escapes. The rest of the time she tries to find him somewhere down the river. Lots of fun adventures in this one. Girls will especially enjoy this series. Highly recommended for Grades 3-5.

I'm confused at this point and so is my 7 year old.
We've read the whole series and previous the porthole moved from the fence in the garden to Gabby's wardrobe, but in this series it talks about it being in thr fence again as though Gabby's wardrobe never happened for the past few books.
Have we missed something? 🤷‍♀️

Another great Never Girls adventure by Kiki Thorpe. The lesson of responsibility and facing your fear was a good one. As always my 5 year old enjoyed this story as much as the others and we can't wait to read the next one.

This is the eleventh release in The Never Girls series and follows Lainey as she gets a new pet. Lainey decides to bring hew new goldfish pet into Neverland and of course adventure ensues when Sunny gets away. My daughter still loves reading these with me at bedtime so on we go!

This is a sweet series, especially good for very advanced young readers. The writing is great and features a varied vocabulary, but the content is light and appropriate for little ones.

This adventure starts off with the addition of a new pet; a goldfish. Of course, the "Never Girls" have to go to Pixie Hollow and show the fairies the little guy. Of course, the goldfish get lost and the ensuing journey takes them on a quest to find him.
The story didn't really have a lot of punch. The story seemed like it was inspire by the book "Fish Out of Water". Sometimes I feel that this series can be a hit-or-miss. I would definitely put this one in the miss pile.
