A generic overview rating since unfortunately this is a retrospective review (about a year on since I actually read the story!).

Alhamdulillah a lovely story suggestion provided by my father and a story I've now gone by referring to as doludoludoludolu (rather fun to say).

I love the power system in this book and the growing themes of love and family and honour genuinely included all the elements that got me into reading in the first place - perhaps my first Wuxia in a while (unless I read Martial world first - I think this was first tho!) and so addictive as they always seem to be.

Definitely on the re-read list and love the trial saga and the stakes of the fight felt very very vivid, also enjoy the fact that the common ending trope of losing all their powers/cultivation was approached in a more tasteful manner that boosted other side characters to being a meaningful cast.

Also really enjoy that it's one main love interest as opposed to the harem behaviour typically common 😭🤣 Felt more invested than the chop and change romance.
