Milovan Đilas was a prolific political writer and former Yugoslav communist official remembered for his disillusionment with communism. Much of his work has been translated into English from Serbian. He was, above all, a literary artist. In several of his books, Djilas proclaimed himself a writer by vocation, and a politician only under the pressure of events.
Beyond and ahead of its time, this book will blow a fortuitous wind through the windmills of many minds, and hope it simplifies the discourse around what's on paper, how it embeds into a human brain and the consequent actions. It's not just about Communism; it can be applied to all sorts of ideologies because no matter what type or side of political theory and ideas we are talking about, they have to go through the human action - and they are all the same.
