I'm so overwhelmed right now. This is not how I saw this book going, nor how it would end. My heart is bleeding for Lizzy, Charlie, Melinda, Riley, and William. Their emotions and struggles are so intense. What is going to happen with everyone? Poor Lizzy just exchanged one prison for another. Riley's self flagellation is only making his pain worse. What of William and his self loathing? Too much drama! !!!

War is coming to The Demon Isle and the fight between good and evil is going to get even more desperate.
But in the mean time the gang need to adapt to changes and there strengths. We get to see Lizzies past with Charlotte Howard and her vampire Grayson. Emily is still gone and Michael is a mess without her, but slowly getting back to himself. He is also taking is responsibilities more seriously . Charlie is on his boat clearing his head about the whole Lizzies and Grayson issue. He also gets a blast from the not so far past to help guide him back home. Melinda and Lucas are in witch training to proper them for the future fight. Riley is still in New Orleans with Jean and Anne in Williams house. With William aswel trying to guide Riley back to Melinda. And has decided his own future too. Courtney has stuck around to adapt to being a vampire. Also has grown to care for these people and has sworn she will protect them. Grayson is in the Howards cell under a curse that they are trying to find the cure too. Mack has a admirer, Courtneys boss.
So much sadness has already hit these people, but more drama is on its way. Will everyone finally reunite in preparation to fight? Especially with the sad cliffhanger to this?

Okay....
So much has happened and still no one has come out of it happy or unscathed. Charlie has been so strong for his family. I'm glad Melinda and him have finally become closer and What Emily's decision has done to Michael is just horrible. I am so glad that Lizzy and Lucas helping out the Howard's has brought them back to what their relationship should have always been, protecting the Demon Isle.
Omg I'm so worried about Lizzy and her choice which o e will be the lucky guy???
William needs to get back home. The Howard kids need him as well as his knowledge to help control these issues that have arisen . So much going on and so many closed doors.
I just can't wait for book 10. I hope a lot of these painful issues are resolved cause I am dying here!!! I am so in love with this series it's unreal!!!

a war is coming one like no other and where is william.....
this is the story of lizzie and how it all began with her training and meeting grayson another vampire from long ago...
it was good to get more information on lizzie and grayson and to see how the rest of the families were doing and also to find out a bit more about william and the new town he created
new abilities are surfacing for some on the demon isles and control needs to be learnt but before that happens a terrible accident happens that will leave all devastated, decisions need to be made but can anyone make those decisions at the moment
again another cliff hanger roll on the next book

Love to read
This series of books are awesome. Once I start reading I don't want to put it down and then when I finish I don't want it to be finished. I feel like I have gotten to know all the characters and I want the best for them. I can't wait till the winter to be able to read the next book. I hope Starla Silver will keep writing this series because I don't want it to never end. If you like to read stories about witches, vampires, good versus evil and romance, you will enjoy these. Now the waiting begins.

Though I love this series, this book was so short and had three major plotlines, it left me with more questions than the previous 8 books combined. I still love the series but I was unfulfilled by this book.

Really love the series but this particular episode felt more like a bridge between #8 and the next one, getting us set up. Hope the next story isn't too far off as I truly want to see where of goes.

Wow another non stop read session and wishing for the next book. I'm crying over poor Lizzy and her 2 loves ,like Melinda. I'm rolling over what happening to the sheriff yes haw love it and now crying over the accident. I just love love this series.

Read the entire series. This book was hard to follow. It jumped around to many different plots. I was confused as to which story I was reading.
