UNPLUG: 26 People Share How They Recharge and Reconnect to Passion, Presence, and Purpose

Rate this book
In a time of great ecological and social crisis, we are being called upon like never before to create a better world aligned with our core, essential nature. Unplug is a thought-provoking book that challenges antiquated beliefs around our treatment of the Earth, animals, and each other. Unplug inspires a more authentic and expansive way of being.

Each of us carries within the seed of our own greatness and the potential for who we can become. By engaging with the world from this potent inner space, we have the potential to become an unstoppable force for paradigm shifting transformation. Throughout this book, Deb Ozarko inspires readers to unplug from status quo by plugging into the power of their own hearts. It is a reminder that we are all so much more than who we've been conditioned to be. By thinking more critically, living more passionately, and acting from the calling that is uniquely ours, we are transformed, we become powerful agents for change. Unplug is a compelling reminder that every one of us matters.

Weaving critical thought and personal experiences with the transformational stories of activists, athletes, authors, yogis, doctors, visionaries, and everyday change-makers, Unplug is a book that is simultaneously personal-growth and a courageous call to action. It is a book written for all those who are disenchanted with our hyper-paced, consumptive world, who denounce what we are doing to animals and the Earth, and who feel the tug of the soul to live more, give more, be more, and love more.

Unlike many spiritually-oriented books, Unplug does not veil the darkness with blind faith. It explores the grief, pain, anger, frustration, and despair that come from bearing witness to the stark realities of our current times, and it celebrates the possibilities that emerge from living authentically with passion, presence, and purpose.

Unplug is not a book of reason, strategies, and 7-step solutions to appease the intellect. It is a book of inspiration written to activate and engage the powerful force of the heart. It is an inspired wake-up call to put love and compassion into urgent, focused action to create a kinder world aligned with the essence of our purest humanity.

Includes the transformative stories Seane Corn, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Ocean Robbins, Roz Savage, Rich Roll, Sharon Gannon, Jenny Brown, Gene Baur, Sierra Bender, Will Tuttle, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, Peter Russell, and many more.

Forced myself to finish this one. Went into it as a mindset book, but the author continuous pushed her veganism (typical vegan smh).

Definitely one of the most powerful books I've read in a long time. This book has got me thinking in a radically different way and I'm already implementing more compassionate choices in my life. Deb Ozarko is a brilliant story-teller who quickly gets to the heart of her message through the transformational stories of people from all walks of life. Her message is that we are not separate from life, including our own. When we remember this simple fact, life is never the same (I can vouch for that). I cannot recommend this book enough!
