All I craved was one night to forget about the tragic murder of my brother Marcus. Elijah Malakai seemed like the perfect person to take my mind off everything my family had endured. He was a hunter and for the first time in years, I felt safe.

But Elijah had his own tragic past. As his secrets unraveled, my world was thrown into turmoil once more.

I had to decide whether or not Elijah was worth the pain his past would bring and if I was strong enough to stand by his side and fight.

Crave is an interesting twist on the whole paranormal romance genre and I really enjoyed most of this book.

We meet Eva, trying to live life, but still mourning the death of her brother Marcus from a group of vampires. Vampires are out in the world and everyone knows about them, so Eva tries to stay far away from them and hate them. When she meets Elijah there was an instant connection to him, and it only grew stronger throughout the book.

For a while I was trying to figure out if Elijah was really a good guy or not, granted he’s a vampire, but he hid it from Eva for a while until he made a mistake. He protects her with his life, but I wasn’t sure if it was for his own reasons or if it was because he truly cared for her. Their connection is immediate and very intense, which was hard for me to get a grip on because of Eva’s hatred for vamps, but you can’t deny the feelings they have for one another.

This book had many twists and turns that had me guessing a lot, as well as having to go back and re-read a page to make sure I got what was going on. The story is fast paced, suspenseful, and full of surprises. I adored Elijah‘s character and Eva was a pretty strong character as well, but there was something missing to make me truly feel connected to them.

The ending was a little unexpected, but a definite twist that I was not expecting, and was both happy and sad with how things ended up for Evan and Elijah. The epilogue was beautiful as well as the extended epilogue (or Chapter 1 again from Elijah), and I believe those two parts really made this book.

This is a perfect book for those who love paranormal romances and aren’t afraid of letting a vamp into your life for a few hours. Eva and Elijah‘s story is fast paced, gut wrenching, and beautiful all at once. I really want more of them!!!

I enjoy reading books by Teresa Mummert. She always has a different take on things or gives the book her own flair of uniqueness. And Crave is no different.

Crave is a paranormal book about vampires but it's got a slight twist. The human race has been made aware of their existence but they are still learning about them. They have night guards to protect the humans at night. The daytime is still the same as the sun harms the vampires. The vampires haven't taken over the human race but they have no fear in killing them off slowly.

Eva's has a personal vendetta against the vampires as they took her brother from her. After her brother's death, she became very distant with people and get them at arms length, including her parents and her ex-boyfriend, Grayson. Until she finally gathers the courage to talk to the gentleman she sees about every night milling about. She believes he is a night guard but one fateful night learns of his true self.

Eva finds herself quickly trusting Elijah even though a part of her is hesitant to. She finds herself in a battle she was never prepared for. There are quite a few interesting plot twists that keep things very entertaining.

Things move at a fast pace and Teresa does a great job of explaining the background details on characters and their history without losing pace. I enjoyed the unique take on things and how Teresa plotted this out. My only gripe is I wish it was longer - maybe even split into two books. That's just how hooked I get into her books and never want them to end.

All in all, Crave is another hit for Teresa. She keeps you enraptured in the story and has you catching your breath by the end.

4 1/2 stars! What if you fell in love with the one thing you hated most, a vampire. This was a perfect adult vampire love story with plenty of drama. Looking forward to what life has in store next for these delicious characters!

Yes, the existence of vampires "came to light" and so the setting reminded me of a big tv-show.
But then again it is totally different.

This book consists of 3 previously released atories:
Kat's Tale
9 Lives
Kat Fight
And I have to admit that I can't wait to read on book 4 and those that might follow.
The story is well written and absolutely stirring.

I can only recommend this to anyone who is interested in vampire fiction.

Please Teresa, never stop writing, ok?

Epicly bad.

The world building needed work. I didn’t feel immersed in a fantasy type of setting. There were vampires, but their abilities weren’t explained in depth. The vampires weren’t vampy enough for me. Most of the vampires were evil. Some shades of grey would have made them far more interesting. With the exception of Elijah, they weren’t charming, and frankly to call Elijah charming is a stretch.

The romance didn’t do anything for me. It had somewhat of a love triangle. Eva had complicated feelings for an ex, and he wanted to be with her. Then Elijah walked into her life, and she was inexplicably drawn to him. Elijah was clearly her interest, so it wasn’t a true love triangle. Grayson was around enough to be a PITA. The connection between Elijah and Eva happened too fast. It went against the kind of person Eva was to trust someone so easily.

The characters needed way more development. Eva was the MC, so she was fleshed out the best. Being bitter and angry didn’t make her appealing. She made a lot of poor choices, so liking her or caring about her was hard. Some of Elijah’s background was explained but not a lot. There was absolutely nothing special about him other than his desire to protect Eva which did not make sense at all until the very end. The other characters were fairly insignificant. None of them had unique personalities or interesting characteristics.

The plot was all over the place. I didn’t even know where the story was going until I had read several chapters. The setting changed constantly. Eva would go somewhere. Nothing of significance would occur. Then she’d leave. Things took a drastic turn when Elijah’s secret was revealed. I lost interest at that point. I did keep reading but skimmed a lot. After that Eva randomly had vivid dreams. They were there for a reason but were more of an annoyance than a beneficial clue. It was odd that Elijah’s past was explained through flashbacks rather than just having him tell Eva. The story didn’t flow smoothly.

I’d like to say something nice about this but I can’t. It was that bad.

**** I received this ARC in exchange for a fair review****

I just finished this book and I am still shaking my head. I don't know why I am always surprised by how good Teresa Mummert's books really are! Every time I read a new one, I am swept away in the story. Then every time that I finish one, I need someone to help me restart my life. Wow! Can you say book hangover!

I love the way the author draws you into her characters! The souls of the people in this story just leap right off the page at you. They are so well developed that by halfway through the book, I really felt like I knew these people. Not to mention, this author should hold a master class on how to write a plot twist!!!

What really blew me away in Crave, was how she tied the whole story together. I've seen it done before, with other books, but never to this level. As I finished the ending, I was left with such a feeling of completion, but still wanting more! I know that makes no sense, but that's the best way to describe it. I could think back to all the subtle nuances that took place within the story and see exactly how important they really were. Things that I read through out the story started flashing through my mind as I read the final few pages. Crave is an excellent book, a thrilling story line, a WELL thought out plot, and has carved a new place out in my heart forever. I'm going to go re-read it right now!!!

Do yourself a solid and get this book!!!! You need this book! Why are you still reading this and not ordering this book????!!!!???? Go NOW!!!!

These books had me guessing all the way, but that ending still has me wondering and wanting to know more. The only negative is that there is no conclusion. I must know more. Needs another book or two to explain what happens next!!!!!

“Ever since their existence came to light, they preached equality while torturing and killing anyone who didn’t bow down and worship at their feet.”

It’s a Vampire Apocalypse!!!! Teresa Mummert style!!

Being in the mind of Teresa Mummert is like having a killer buzz that you never want to end but you are almost relieved when it’s over. I’m telling you, people, you cannot be in there too long. It’s magnificent and dangerous and I’m completely hooked.

“When I go, it will be with a fight, not a surrender.”

You’ve read the blurb, you get it. Vampires are walking among us. It is dangerous and we are supposed to be cool with it, but our heroine knows better. So let’s start there. Eva was tough and sweet and a little damaged. I liked her. She went from badass and self-destructive to badass scrapper. She wasn’t going down without a fight. I need that in a heroine. Elijah was your typical swoony vampire. Hot, broody and intense. Bits of his humanity escaped from time to time and you just begged for more from him. There was mystery going on with him and hints were dropped throughout until we reached the climax and received the entire story.

“She’s never understand the things I’ve done… but I’ve done them all for her.”

Bad guys, lovers, friend and family. A small town. Running away. Facing your fears. This book had it all, but I was never overwhelmed by it. I had two issues with this book. Neither of which was a deal breaker and neither really took away from my enjoyment of the story.

Grayson annoyed me. Logically I understood their connection and appreciated it, but he still got under my skin. This may have been intentional. Mummert may have planned it. As the story went on his role became more apparent to me. So if you are reading Crave and you get tired of Grayson, stick with it.
There were times where I needed the moment to be expanded and it felt a little rushed and there were a few times where a moment felt like it dragged on. This could easily just be me. I was really wrapped up in the story and I wanted more but I also needed to know what was going to happen. So basically I was being selfish and impatient. ;)

Regardless of these two items, I still loved this book. There were some beautiful quotes I pulled from Crave. The epilogue was perfect. I laughed and smiled and completely fell for Elijah again.

4 stars for the courageous and Eva and her sexy vampire!

Crave is a little different than some of the previous books I've read by Teresa, but much like the other stories, I enjoyed this one as well. For the story in the pages, the characters and what they face, but most of all for being a different type of story.
I enjoy paranormal stories, but it's been awhile since I've taken a chance on a vampire story. I'm glad that I took the chance, coming back to this style and type of book with this one. It was an enjoyable read. The connection between the characters is quite instant, but the reasoning for it, which the more I read the more I managed to piece together, worked for me. I enjoyed that aspect most. I think it played perfectly into the story of Eva and Elijah.
What also worked for me was the emotion displayed by her after the loss of her brother. Also the twists and turns surrounding it, but definitely just how deep the loss of him affected her. Changed her. Made her different from the girl that everyone seemed to know before. But at the same time, somehow better. And as the story progresses even stronger.
Elijah, who is he, what he is, I have to admit I was hoping for that from the start. I wanted him to be something more than just how he appears when they first meet and for the first bit afterwards and the author, along with the characters delivered.
What I didn`t expect was just how deep this was all going to go. The trials, and tests and lies versus' truth that would come into play here, but I did enjoy the fact that it did. It kept me guessing and I`m starting to see with a lot of Teresa`s books, that she does that a lot. At least for this reader.
The only thing that I have to say kept this from being a five star read for me was the deviation from dream like sequence to real time. It confused me a couple of times and did take a re-read or two to get on the same page, but it wasn`t enough that it impaired my enjoyment of the story in a long term way.
After reading this, I look forward to not only reading more of her work in the future, but maybe more books in this genre since this one worked very well.
If you`re a fan of the author, paranormal romance with just the right hint of edge of your seat suspense, then this might be a book you want to give a try. I'm glad I did.

2.3 Stars!!!

I wanted to like this one...I wanted to find that diamond in the rough and tell all my friends what a great read and recommend to them that they all needed to read this. But....I can't do that. Because I just did not care for it. So many parts of this book were half way to brilliant. I always felt that the author is working up to something really good....or something was described before us and I thought, now it is going to happen. But....it didn't.

The book started off pretty good. Book! I say, really is three short stories or novellas which = a 200 page novel. This is a personal preference but the girl put her feet on the dash board, smoked, drank and should have gone home to her parents a bit more often. I am a rules girl and this girl is not...so right off the bat I did not care for her too much. Caleb...tried to be a Jericho Barons or Saloman but ended up grinning and smiling too much....He was betraying and lying to Kat all through the book...And the ending of this book was really either unfinished or stupid....I'd like to think there will be a part 4 to finish the story.

I hate to write so negatively about an author I really admire and enjoy (Honor Series) but I have to be honest...this is three unfinished novellas that could have used a few beta readers and needs a definite idea of what a Vampire is....and not leave us readers all confused when reading this...Is it horror or romance? Is Caleb scarey and evil or is he a hero? And I would love to like the characters a little bit as they flip flop through a self identity crises.

I would read novella 4....and maybe I will change my mind about it all????

One night her brother Marcus was murdered by Vampires. All she craved is to forget. It wasn't until Elijah Malakai that she could move on from her family pain. He was a hunter but it was more than that, when he was near she felt safe. Elijah had secrets from a past that was anything but rosy.

But Elijah had his own past and secrets that he wanted to keep secret. But secret always have a way of come out.

Is what she feels for Elijah worth being dragged into his past? Will she stand by his side through it all or will it be too much?

First off I love Teresa mind, her stories are always different and very interesting so I gave her new Vampire book a try. Ive never read a vampire book before so I didn't know what to expect. It was great. I really loved the love story behind all the vampire stuff. Their connection was instant and I thought he was dark but intense and I could feel her relax around him. It was so swoon worthy until the vampire drama happened and I didn't know what would happen or who she should trust. You'll just have to one click this one to find out! Great book, I just thought maybe a little more explaining should of been in the beginning for those of us who don't know the ins or outs of the vampire world especially since I didn't realize it was a vampire book when I read the back of the book. I know silly me, blonde moment. Otherwise an amazing good vampire love story.

This book was all. over. the. place.

While there weren't a lot of things going on, the characters did a lot travelling that was totally unnecessary. She goes to so-and-so's house just to leave. She goes to the bar and leaves. Shows up to a job I didn't know she had, for a day, and her employers are equality surprised that she's there. Walks into the woods with a dude she met on the street, when there are blood thirsty vampires lurking about.

Needs serious editing.

I bought this one because of the author, without reading the description. Yeah. Never do that. This one really wasn't for me. The haphazard editing was annoying and the story was convoluted. Always read the description and maybe a few reviews. Live and learn. Better luck next time. Happy reading.

I really enjoyed this fun twist on a vampire read. It wove in current happenings that kept it relatable and was really fun all around. You never really know what you are getting with a book from Teresa Mummert, I usually expect one thing and find the complete opposite. This was one of those. A ton of fun to read.

This wasn't the type of  book that is going to stay with me for DAYS because I got SO invested in it, but it was the kind that I really enjoyed while I was reading it and definitely would recommend to vampire fans.

Eva is still dealing with her brother's death, and in the process gets her self tangled up where she least expects it. With vampires being out in the world, she does her best to stay clear of them. Then throw Elijah into the mix and things just got more interesting. The second they meet the connection is there and it is strong. Even though Elijah is a hunter, Eva doesn't know Elijah's past and once she does will things change? That is the question. Hunter's bring their own type of secrets into he mix but Elijah has more than most.

From the moment they meet things were interesting. It took me a second to get into the book but once I did i enjoyed the ride. This book was pretty non stop and both characters were great. There were a ton of twists I didn't see coming and a few I did. The ending took me for a ride and I really like how Teresa wrapped it all up. It left me content but if I got the chance to have more I wouldn't complain! Crave is truly a fun book and a great read for any paranormal fans!

Have been a fan of TM since the Honor series, and have a few reads still on my TBR list. But when I saw she was coming out with a new read AND it had PNR elements? I one-clicked a pre-order ASAP, ready to be in another reading happy place.
Well, hell. I'LL remain a TM fan, but this read fell flat for me. NA romances are iffy for me somtimes. Maybe I'm not the right age demographic? Anywho. The PNR element and my overall faith in the author's words kept me forging thru to finish. Knowing that there two epilogues hinted that some of the holes in the plot and randomness of the heroine's inner dialog and actions just might make sense to me.
And the last three chapters did give me that A-ha moment.
But was it enough for me?
Would I venture back to this world if the author makes this a series?
Maybe.
For me it comes down to flow. At times the story felt choppy, filled with mundane daily routines, and the character's actions immature and naive for the known threats. And, don't hate me, but I couldn't help noticing the repetitive use of brushing aside or running fingers thru hair. Yup. I stopped counting after 20x. To be fair, at least three of those went with the scene.
Well, double hell. It just felt like there where two different authors writing this story...one that was right on point and one that created "filler" till the good stuff was up. A head scratcher for me to be sure, because I like this author. I know her words are worth reading. I think this is why I was compelled to leave a review, over just an "ehh" rating. So I'm exonerating the author and pointing to the editor(s).
Forgive me, TM, if this was harsh. I only want the best for you...and Elijah and his Viviana.

CRAVE by Teresa Mummert
4 out of 5 stars
I received this Arc in exchange for an honest review.
I love Teresa Mummert’s books and I love Vampires. So naturally when I saw Teresa was writing a book that had Vampires in it I got really excited. She has never let me down yet with a book. Teresa has an amazing way in sucking you in a book and making it so you never want to put it down.
The Characters in Crave were really well developed and interesting. Sometimes in paranormal books one of the characters becomes too much and I get sick of them. This did not happen while reading Crave. There was so much depth to the character that it keeps you invested and wanting more. Eva was a strong character that had a rough start. She loses her brother to Vampires and wants to stay as far from them as she can. Elijah is a vampire and he was such an interesting character. I had a hard time figuring him out and I loved that I couldn’t right away. He keeps the story going. I think the only thing I had an issue with is that connection between Eva and Elijah it seemed to happen really quickly and it was so strong at first. Eva hates Vampires but is connected to Elijah right away. I would have like to see a not so strong connection right away. Even with that I still loved the book.
I would highly recommend anyone to pick up this book and give it a try.

This review was first published on . { ink.eaters}.

I was super excited when I heard that Teresa Mummert would be writing a Vampire novel; I love her writing and her male characters are usually to die for - while this is the case with Crave's male protagonist, Elijah, as well - and in this case quite literally, the novel itself unfortunately didn't quite manage to suck me in (no punk intended, I think ;-)).

I loved the general ideas of - and in - the story, and that the author took the chance to dive into a different genre than she did for the other books I had previously read by her. And I really enjoyed the love story developing throughout the novel, with all its ups and downs, because let's face it - love isn't always a walk in the park, and sometimes tragedy and danger lurk around the corner, waiting to beat you down. However, the story couldn't really... convince me. I can't say what it was, but something felt off - there were several times when I felt like I had missed out on something, despite not having skipped any chapters, or even pages or paragraphs, which is why I can only give this book a 3.5; can't wait for my next Mummert read though!

This was beyond words, I haven't been so pissed in deciding to download a book but God this was infuriating every step of the compiled story was such a mismatched piece of the other. I can understand that this was 1 story for a 3 book worth but have it not got any decency to just be a more accommodating to its readers and not just thrusts information, it was not a story anymore more like it was alist of facts and happening. *sigh* I liked the author's Braking Sin BTW, that was the only reason i decided to read this one. *sigh*

Teresa Mummert did it again!! I've read the Honor Series, Sin series, and Beautiful series. So I figured I would check out Undying Love...WOW!! Loved it!! I read 1-3 in a day and was screaming WTF when I read the last page. Talk about a cliff hanger. This is a real vampire novel to adults. The suspense, drama, and romance in this series was outstanding and I felt well balanced. Looking forward to seeing what happens next...maybe?
