A Big Brochure For Selling Annuities and Insurance

While there is certainly a lot of sound advice, the author is a very big proponent of all kinds of annuities and other types of insurance products. These are expensive and not necessary if you do a little homework and own your future.

Superficial

This is a pretty thin book that floats over the real investing issues, and repeatedly reminds you to hire the author's investing company. It might or might not be worth a dollar.

I saw this book in my library's new non-fiction books. It is pretty basic although it does talk about using annuities and life insurance policies for retirement planning.

The advice that is repeated over and over is get professional help to plan your retirement. Everybody has a different scenario and only true professionals can help you. Basically this book is an advertisement for Cardinal - which to be fair is right there in the title.

Helpful and hopeful. It's nice to be able to find help formulating a plan for caring and graceful aging without financial ruin or familial burden. This is an illuminating and general guide for those that are unsure of options, or have no idea where to turn when faced with planning care for a loved one. It provided a calmness and sense of purpose, as well as a blue print for success, in an otherwise overwhelming time of upheaval and total confusion.

Very disappointed in this book. The book reads like a product brochure for the author's investment business. I get the feeling the author assumes the reader is clueless on retirement planning and you need to pay someone for every single financial decision you make. I have read a lot of books on this subject and this one is the worst.
