About the author

An author of series fiction for young readers, Ann Bryant was educated at the Royal College of Music, and worked for a number of years as a music teacher. She has also written for various BBC Schools Radio programmes, and composed the theme and incidental music for BBC TV's Tales of Aesop series.

I found this book pretty good and interesting to read. It is about a shy girl named Mia, who entered a contest, and has to write her own songs and music. In this book, Mia over comes her fear of performing, by the support of friends, family, teachers and passion. And finally becomes a true musician.

I read the series of five books the term before I started secondary school and it got me very excited! A good series for recreational readers! Worth a go.
