The Illusion of Us: The Suppression and Evolution of Human Consciousness

Rate this book
In the Third Edition of The Illusion of Us, we travel down the rabbit hole of knowledge to uncover the secrets behind consciousness and the intelligent design behind reality itself. How did we become so lost and disconnected to the world and universe around us? Perhaps the answer can be found by understanding our multidimensional consciousness and true identity. Could humanity have complete amnesia of a past Golden Age due to cataclysms on Earth which wiped out most of the evidence from a lost time period? The renowned philosopher Plato leaves behind compelling evidence for this theory in both the Timaeus and Critias, linking the lost civilization of Atlantis and its destruction. It’s time to finally discover all that we have forgotten and piece together the incredible history that preceded us. Were the gods of mankind simply myth or are we missing an important piece of the puzzle that connects all the way back to the stars... From the guarded writings of the Nag Hammadi Library to the cuneiform tablets of the Enuma Elish and Atrahasis, The Illusion of Us connects the entire story and provides a way to free the shackles from Darwin's Cave. The Truth will set you free.

Wow! A fantastic book and I highly recommended.

Mr. Lacroix left me speechless, a powerful and enlightened read that reveals humanity’s divine abilities and the suppression and evolution of the human consciousness. The brilliance behind Mr. Lacroix’s work is his ability to follow the bread crumbs of ancient writings and methodically integrate into a true historical overview of the human condition and he does in a non-intimidating 110 pages.

The author brings together consciousness, the lost city of Atlantis, the human pineal gland (Our Third Eye), the human charka system, the significance of the colors red and blue, mediation, the power of left and right sides of the brain, male and female energy, the Annunaki from Nibiru, the Nommo from the constellation of Canis Major and the Dog Star known as Sirius, the Djinn, the Draconians, the Archons, Reptilians, Igigi, Pleiadians, the Watchers, the ancient battle between the half-brothers Enki (Poseidon) and Enlil (Zeus), the ancient cosmic battle of light versus dark over free-will , the family of light, the family of dark, the illuminati specifically the Rothschild and Rockefeller families, the New World Order, False Flag Terrorism, Geoengineering, the fraudulent Mainstream Media, HAARP, Fluoride, the ten dimensions of the universe, and the pyramids in Egypt and Mesoamerica and their perfect alignment to the Orion Star System to name a few. The Illusion of Us is absolutely the best book I have read yet that remarkably unifies all these subjects to tell the human story and who we really are.

The author draws information from Barbara Marciniak, Zecharia Sitchin, Lloyd Pye, Plato, David Icke, the Emarld Tablets of Thoth, the Enuma Elish (the Babylonian creation myth), the Atrahasis (the Akkadian/Babylonian epic of the great flood), the Nag Hammadi Library, the Epic of Gilamesh, the Bible, the Gnostic writings, and the Book of Enoch to name a few.

To give an idea of this magnificent piece of work can be observed in my rating of a 5 for this short read. Anyone who follows my reviews on Goodreads knows that I don’t believe giving anything higher than a 3 for a book that is less than 120 pages. I never could justify giving a short read a 4 or 5 rating due to the injustice of giving that rating to a longer more thoroughly researched book(s). However, The Illusion of Us is the first book of this length that I will proudly give a 5 rating. This should speak volumes for this splendid piece of work.

Great Job Matthew! This work and your contribution to humanity’s conscious global awakening that is occurring around the world at an accelerated rate puts you in a league of your own. Thank you!

“The greatest lie that has ever been orchestrated is the illusion of what human beings really are and the Truth behind our divine consciousness” – Matthew Lacroix

“For hundreds of thousands of years, there has been an ancient dispute over the right to free will within a consciously developing species. The hierarchical system of evolution in the cosmos for intelligent beings governs nearly all decisions of those species that exist in dimensions below them. The rights to the ownership of Earth and disrupting its important timeline led to disputes for control of the planet and its resources. Earth and its living library was considered extremely valuable and important to many of the senescent civilizations who helped design it. One side cared deeply for the future of this library and the freedoms of the human species, while the other for control of resources and domination of the planet. That is why the concept of light battling against darkness is used throughout our culture. Light is always associated with the freedom of information and spiritual growth, while darkness is associated with the suppression of consciousness through domination. These visitors conquered light and the Earth became a place of darkness under their control for hundreds of thousands of years. Humanity is now finally beginning to emerge out of this darkness that has consumed much of our true identity and awareness” - Matthew Lacroix

“The decision given to Adam and Eve from the serpent, about whether or not they should eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, led to their banning from the garden known as Eden, which is located in Iraq where the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers meet. The clever trick used by organized religion is to make society believe that the serpent is evil and that the god figure is divine and assisting humanity. This crucial teaching describing the enslavement of humanity is written around the two brothers of Enlil and Enki, presented here as God and Serpent. In the story of Adam and Eve, God or Enlil, doesn’t want humanity to know of good or evil, but to instead live in complete ignorance and darkness of the Truth. Adam and Eve ultimately decided they want free will, thanks to the sacrifices made from Enki, known as the serpent. Enlil banishes Homo sapiens to a life of bondage and slavery and through the creation of warfare and money, tricked humanity into an eternal slumber. The overall scope of control and suppression to society all stems back from the original anger felt by Enki’s gifts for free will within humanity. To avoid uprisings and understanding their true history, humans were kept in a state of total amnesia from the past” - Matthew Lacroix

Truthful mind-opener!

If you nothing about how true the history and how a very tiny group of humanity has ruthlessly manipulated, controlled and deceived the world, this will explain it simply. Don't expect the majority of the world's media to cover this since most of them are owned by 6 megacorporations. Keep an open mind, do your own research and do your best at living the golden rule.

Bread Crumbs

If you are seeking understanding or understanding is seeking you, I highly recommend this book. This book prompts the brain to pick up bread crumbs that lead down a path of connected idea. Believe it understand as you will, but LaCroix makes a convincing argument for change.

Wish it was more in depth and more detailed as a compilation of information rather than a "take my word for it" kind of book. It would have been nice to have more dots connected instead of having dots just pointed out in a general way. If someone hasn't researched these topics and didn't already believe a lot of what he talks about, I don't feel like he would be convincing anyone. That might turn some people away from the absolute benefits of this book found in the understanding and truth of who we are as well as the what the world is. That being said, I like his perspective and this book is very inspiring. (especially the last two chapters)

For many, the concepts in this book will be startling, disbelieved, or laughed at. I was familiar with almost all of them and found the integration of them and the "why" very interesting, if not enlightening. While I may not agree with it all, I do think that the role of consciousness and the evolution of humanity and as an individual is fundamental to our times. The why's and how's of this illusion and suppression are staggering if true.

I found most of LaCroix writing very fluid and a joy to read. Especially when he discusses consciousness in the first and last two chapters. Definitely worth reading just for those sections.

What I found maddening was the total LACK of footnotes in the book. As a retired librarian, I was frustrated. It is hard to determine where he is restating an idea of others, and where the ideas are his own. He needs footnotes! Now he has 'endnotes,' but truly, that's just a reading list without the numbers referencing the endnotes IN THE TEXT! And don't even get me started on how this book needs an index! And how this book needs each chapter to be broken up by subtopics with sub-headers. It would have made it much easier to read and reference.

Now, as a retired medical librarian and watching the deaths mount, unnecessarily-- from measles not to mention the disabilities from TB - all preventable diseases-- I have to take issue number two with this book, e.g., the author's own words about vaccines. OMG! Bad, bad, bad. I cannot believe that we need to kill children from preventable diseases (by not giving them vaccines) to evolve our consciousness as a species! He did not say that but by dismissing the need for vaccines he is leading one to wonder what on earth he was saying really - and thinking!.

There is a problem however on a larger scale with his words on vaccines. Because of his anti-vaccine text (dare I say) I start to question his veracity and knowledge in Chapter 3 about the suppression of consciousness. I mean, if I do not trust his vaccine statements, how can I trust the rest, especially without footnotes?

But putting aside my two major peeves with this book I do think his descriptions on what consciousness is, how to expand it and the evolution of it are spot on and worth the read (e.g. three of the five chapters of the book). I especially appreciated the new concept for me, the frequency of the colors red and blue and how they were and are used in the past and today. And the entire discussion of frequency and vibration, as well as the symbiology of The Matrix with the red and blue pill. Thought provoking for sure.

I am someone who is very well versed in brain waves, frequencies and symbology as well as the current mass "symbolicide" as noted by Jim Stewartson, in his blog, "Mind War." The latter means the wholesale destruction or reassigning of society's symbols for political or societal control purposes. What is happening today with symbols to dumb down consciousness, makes LaCroix's point well. So I do think that LaCroix's "illusions" are on the right track, despite the flaws of the book I note here.

The Illusion of Us: The Suppression and Evolution of Human Consciousness by Matthew LaCroix is a provocative exploration of human consciousness, ancient history, and the hidden forces that have shaped humanity’s understanding of reality. Drawing from a wide range of disciplines (including ancient civilizations, philosophy, quantum mechanics, and esoteric teachings), LaCroix argues that humanity has been systematically disconnected from its true origins and potential. The book suggests that much of what we consider “history” is incomplete or deliberately obscured, and that ancient texts, such as the Nag Hammadi Library and the Enuma Elish, hold clues to a forgotten Golden Age and humanity’s divine consciousness.

LaCroix delves into the idea of a “suppression of consciousness,” positing that powerful entities (both historical and mythological) have worked to limit human awareness. He references figures like Enki and Thoth, whom he credits with endowing humanity with knowledge and free will, while other forces sought to control and dominate. The book also touches on the concept of a past cataclysm, possibly linked to the lost civilization of Atlantis, which LaCroix believes wiped out evidence of humanity’s advanced origins. Through this lens, LaCroix encourages readers to question mainstream historical narratives and explore the possibility of a multidimensional consciousness that connects humanity to the cosmos.

The book’s strength lies in its capacity to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. LaCroix’s exploration of suppressed knowledge, ancient texts, and the role of consciousness in shaping reality invites readers to embark on their own intellectual and spiritual journeys. His references to Plato’s Timaeus and Critias, for example, provide a philosophical anchor for his theories about lost civilizations and the cyclical nature of human development.

Matthew LaCroix, a passionate researcher and writer, grew up exploring the outdoors of northern New England, where he developed a deep connection to nature and a curiosity about the world’s mysteries. After college, he immersed himself in the study of ancient civilizations, philosophy, quantum mechanics, and history, with a particular focus on uncovering esoteric teachings from secret societies and lost cultures. LaCroix’s work has been praised for its ability to connect seemingly unrelated fields of knowledge, and he has since become a prominent voice in the exploration of ancient mysteries, appearing on platforms such as Gaia and the History Channel.

A great guide for inner peace!!

I enjoyed reading the book. Very interesting topics that will make one think beyond themselves! Although he speaks of limited beliefs and war. I can't help but think, if the Anunnaki's history, and the written Galactic wars in the ancient text, is this the paradigm that forged the thinking of humanity? Is the erosion of ancient knowledge the way of breaking free from the realism of Plato's view of the cave?? If we can expand our consciousness and break free from this prison, how long will the balance last? One of the things I enjoyed that this book reinforced was breaking down everyday thinking and our individual paradigms! Reading this book will enhance ones knowledge, and movement to individual peace.

Reading this alone would not be enough in my opinion, as many aspects talked about and touched upon are hard to take in. It soon becomes apparent that Matthew Lacroix echos theories and opinions based on others in the field with there being links or similarities, adding to knowledge. Saying that, The Illusion of Us added some new and interesting concepts that were not known to me. Although the book could have been more indepth, I believe it is at the right level. It gives the reader the opportunity to go and research topics further. Recommended read.

This book will take you on a voyage of a deeper understanding and broader knowledge of our earthly history that cannot be denied. Although there are many interpretations to ancient writings and sites, there is no denying that what we can visually and physically experience is just the tip of the iceberg when we want to start delving into the all that we cannot comprehend, explain or understand. LaCroix opens that door to what consciousness is, allowing us to expand our minds into other possible realities, ones that have been hidden from us, ones that we were born to forget.

This book has changed my life, I've always felt like there was something fundamentally wrong with modern day society and this book taught me the truth. I'm still in high school and can't even put into words how happy I am that I read this book before I moved out and started a life of my own. I think that everyone should read this book and open your eyes to the Truth of life and get out of the bonds of mental slavery we are all born into.

Good introduction to the reality of today’s world

Ideal I would say, for a person that has started to question his or hers meagre existence and place in this world.

Ever wondered why, in spite of everything you do or attempt, things get thwarted at every turn?

Well take a gander at this offering.

Or you could go on YouTube and search up David Icke.

TRUTH!!

Thank you, Mathew LaCroix, for translating my soul and consciousness! You confirmed my suspicions. I remember my first communion at 7 years old as I was lead into the cathedral and said to myself, "This isn't the Truth.
