Luca: Because You're Mine

Rate this book
Murderous thoughts. Those are what I had once Isabella walked through the door and revealed to me who she was. I needed an escape. An escape from my thoughts, an escape from the hurt, and an escape from ... him.

I was a broken woman, but I was never going to break my resolve. I grew up being a fighter because I had to. No man could ever bring me down... Not even Luca.

But, I had to admit, I never thought my heart would break as much as it did that day. Of course, I fled, but I was a fool to think he would ever let me go. He always told me I was his ... no matter what the cost. He was determined to keep me—regardless of the lengths he had to go to reach his goal. He was like a moth to my flame, a tattoo carved into my heart. I could never escape his pull.

I may have evaded him, but I knew it would just be a matter of time. Once he inevitably caught up with me, there would be no going back.

However, no matter what I had expected—or even imagined—absolutely nothing could have prepared either of us for what happened next...

Luca ended on a horrible cliffhanger and I could not wait to know what would happen next. Luca was resting in bed as he’d been shot at and Clara opened the door to a black haired beauty, Isabella, introducing herself as Luca’s wife!
I hate when authors leave us with such cliffhanger!
My reaction was “What? He had a wife? Oooh the liar, the cheater, the …!!!!!” How could this “Italian stallion” do something like that to Clara! Needless to say my Kindle barely escaped a premature death when I missed the wall and got the cushions instead. Pffeew, disaster averted.

Clara was shocked and furious and immediately fled the house as she could not bear being in Luca’s presence one more second. She was welcomed by Jeffrey vacationing in Scotland.

Of course, knowing Luca, he moved air and earth to find her but their reunion was heated and he had some groveling to do. He promised Clara to find a way to divorce Isabelle who was blackmailing him in a loveless marriage for years. To sort this mess out, he had to break the promise he made to his mom and go back to Italy. He swore the next time he would make f@ck-love to Clara was when he would be free and she could have the attention and respect she deserved.

In this second book, we’ll meet Luca’s past and many family members: his mom, Sophie a strong headed woman; his charming uncle Giovanni and many other men in the family. It seems all Belatoni men are panty dropping, Mafiosi yes but with very good looking ones.
It was your typical Italian family (well, I’m not saying all Italian families are part of Cosa Nostra of course!) with hugs, slaps, shouts and lots of love and overflowing food. Clara who had been beaten and shunned by her own family and could only rely on her aunt Trudy could now have a brand new and very large family.

It was full to the brim with action as there always was something getting in Clara and Luca’s way. Kidnapping, explosive news, you name it you got it. It gave me the same feeling I have watching some movie when the main characters are chasing each other all along, unable to catch up but in the very end.

Jaimie was not tender at all with Clara and Luca and she made me cry buckets with what hit Clara and Luca. I think she chose the worst thing that could happen to a woman. Really, I hated her for what she did but at the same time, I loved her because there’s no better book than one making me crazy with feelings all over the place.
I was reading on the train (yes, again as I commute every day) and had to stop reading as I was so overwhelmed and sad I had to stop the tears flowing. And yes, the other passengers are used to crazy emotional me by now but still, a girl has her pride.

So, the second book is packed with:
-hot, hot Italian bad boys;
-kidnapping, shooting, mafia “things” ;
-heated arguments between Luca and Clara with lots of steamy make up sex (the Vixen loves pushing his buttons because the make-up sex will be phenomenal );
-many great side characters;
-emotions (you’ve got them all).

I’m now a very happy reader as I know what happened with these two lovebirds and a little sad to leave their world.

Book #2 start exactly where the first one ended: Everything could've been all happy endish with Clara & Luca, but suddenly his WIFE Isabella is standing in front of Clara at the Castle!
How dare Luca not tell her he was married and make her THE OTHER WOMAN!!!!?
Luca still has to be in bed after being almost killed, so it's pretty easy for Clara to escape to Scotland for a while. She's really mad at him.
But of course he follows her...

Lots of things happen after the two of them finally stop fighting.
Luca's wife and the hopefully fast divorce is only the least of their problems.

WILL HAPPEN TO CLARA & LUCA??
WILL THEY GET THEIR HEA???
WILL EVERYBODY SURViVE THiS BOOK???

GREAT 2nd BOOK!!!

I already mentioned this in my review for the first book....I'm not the biggest fan of Mafia Romances...but I'm a fan of whatever Jaimie writes, so I had to read it....
And I loved it...
This 2nd one was so much better than the first book in my opinion - it was just ... MORE...
(well aside from the torture scenes - I wouldn't have minded a slightly youth appropriate version of that! ☺)

I love how Luca is soo adorably in love with Clara and how he thinks he's in control!!! Cute...

Lots of sexytimes in this book....

and suspensy and funny and weird and crazy and adorable and verrry sad moments.... everything you need in your romances!

If you like sexy & super-exciting Mafia Romances... GO AND READ THIS SERIES!!!!!!!! ☺

This is the eagerly awaited sequel in the Sicilian Mafia series and I was not disappointed by this book.

Following on from the last book, we watch Clara reeling from the revelation that Luca is married. She thought that there was nothing else that could damage the relationship between the two of them.

Luca knows what he wants and is refusing to let Clara go, he wants her as his wife and as far as he is concerned this is going to happen.

This read will have you reaching for the tissues, there is heartbreak, loss, scorching sizzling scenes. Jaimie will have you on the edge of your seats while reading this book.

The emotion in this book just seeps through the pages.

A REAL PAGE TURNER! 5 STARS!

I fell in love with the explosive chemistry between Luca and Clara in the first book and continues in the second book. When I finished the first book I could not wait to devour the next book. Boy did I devour it! I had it read in no time. I fell in love with this book, the characters, and Jaimie's breathtaking writing.

WOW! This book had me hooked from the beginning and I could not turn the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next in the story-line. This book has humor, love, passion, sexy hot scenes, suspense, action, and angst. Everything an amazing book needs to keep the reader captivated and hooked till the very end. I fell more in love with the characters and story-line.

One my favorite things in first book was that Luca and Clara complement each other this still continues in this book. They are still both head strong, stubborn, and passionate. You can feel their emotions and thoughts flow from the pages.

I love that Clara is still an independent and strong female during the twist and turns that she has to overcome. There is only one part of this book that has Clara and Luca not as strong and showing a more softer side of both characters . YOU WILL HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK TO FIND OUT WHY!! You might need to grab some tissues. This part can be bring a few tears!

I love that Luca is still the arrogant ALPHA Italian Stallion that is not afraid to express his feelings to anyone. The passion and love between them will melt your heart!

Jaimie Roberts is an amazing author that keeps her readers on the edge on their seat, falling in her love with her characters, and has twists that you do not see coming. This is why I absolutely love reading Jaimie's books!

This an amazing and incredible story that I HIGHLY recommend. Grab your copy and hang on for the breathtaking ride that Jaimie Roberts brings to her readers.

I'm not going to lie, up until about 70% I really found this one a slow read. I am so used to the grit and drama that Jaimie delivers, for a while there I was really concerned!
But, booya! She pulled it out of the bag and turned the whole game round.
Luca and Clara are 2 of the most perfect characters I have come across since D H Sidebottom's Mason & Ava Fox. I just adore everything about them; from their strength both individually and as a unit, to their weaknesses, their humour, passion, dominance, love and fearlessness.
The last few chapters of this book are splendidly done, just enough detail to make your teeth ache and your toes curl, to have your heart leaping out of your chest and then splattering into a bloody mess.
It's sad, it's happy. It's gruesome, it's beautiful. It's a whole load of other opposites that my brain can't even contemplate!

This second book picks up from the cliff hanger in book 1. We get a lot more insight into Luca and his family, but Clara also has a journey to go one, can she trust Luca again? Does he give her what she needs, these are the questions running through my head while reading this book. A gripping continuation of book 1 and its story but also it grows and introduces to much more of the Sicilian Mafia family. Great follow up book

Review:
You would have thought I'd've been forewarned of just how much an impact this second part of the Sicilian Mafia series would have when the first book ended with an epic cliffhanger, and yet I found myself more often than not having to pick up my jaw off of the floor from finding out one more secret or one more twist that I simply couldn't have predicted. We met Luca and Clara in Luca: You Will Be Mine when Luca wanted to protect and 'sample' what Clara had to offer in her 'Hotel', breaking her own rules of never sleeping with any of her clients, only in the end, both received more than they bargained for. In Because You're Mine, the second instalment of the Sicilian Mafia series by Jaimie Roberts, readers are treated to so many plot twists and forks in the road that the edge of your seat feeling is constant. It's difficult to put into words just how much Jaimie Roberts' Luca series has put me through the emotional ringer and made me so very grateful that I had both books in my possession to read one after the other. While You Will Be Mine ends in a cliffhanger that made me want to pull out my hair because you simply can't end a book like that - think of putting some popcorn in the microwave, pushing the wrong setting, walking away and when you've realized your mistake, the resounding beeps announcing the end of the heating of your bag of kernels, you go to open the door and 'poof' that's the end of the story. You don't get to find out if the bag or the popcorn is burnt or undercooked or just right - the cliffhanger of the century, I know!! Clara, upon finding out some disturbing news about her husband, Luca, must make some of the most hardest decisions of her life and runs, finding out that her Sicilian husband is hot on her trail, refusing to accept the fact that she's no longer by his side. The chemistry is one that I could only wish for every couple for when Luca and Clara get together, I could almost feel as though I were a peeping Tom because it was that sensual and I'll admit, HOT! Considering that this was not my first novel by Jaimie Roberts that I've read, I thought I was ready for the Sicilian Mafia series, and Because You're Mine, but nothing quite like this, which, in my 'books' is the perfect read, and one that I'd recommend.

"He had been taking over over and taking everything from me for far too long.
Now, it was time I started taking things back."

Clara, after the initial battle, has sound her happily ever after with Luca or so she had thought. Luca's past rears it's oh so perfectly coiffured locks and causes a world of trouble for our passionate couple. Starting where we ended in book one Luca (Because you are mine) is a whirlwind of hot headed Irish stubbornness teamed with the scorching passion of our Italian Family Boss. The couple accept they are the other half to each others damaged soul but can they overcome the hurdles?

With a wedding planned it seems fate has more in store for our sizzling couple. With family secrets from the past, kidnappings and an ongoing Family war can Clara and Luca ever manage to say "I do"? With the future of the Castle in question and Clara uncertain of her place within his family can they ever have their happily ever after?

This scintillating story is hot, hot, hot with the passion between Clara and Luca showing no signs of diminishing. They argue and make up in the best of ways. Luca is a man used to getting his own way and having the world tremble at his feet, aside from his Mother and of course Clara. Clara also takes no flack, having had a horrific upbringing, she tells it how it is and will not roll over for anyone. Together they are a perfect couple and through this part of their journey we see them struggle and overcome some devastatingly life changing events. The writing style is a great blend of action, humour and romance that makes the reader laugh cry and want to slap a few faces! I really enjoyed this story, have read it in one sitting. I hope we revisit the craziness that is the Belatoni family sometime in the near future as they are certainly all heart stoppingly gorgeous!

A four and a half star he didn't make it quick read.

Oh my gracious. Where to start. Ok, I will start by saying that I was on tenterhooks waiting for this release, and I was thoroughly captivated once again by Luca and Clara. I began the book and was instantly taken back to where the first book left off, which is sometimes difficult, as I read a boat load of books and struggle trying to remember previous part to ongoing series. But I had no trouble with this book. Luca and Clara are such an enamouring couple, that I just cannot get enough of. I laughed my chops off through most of the book. Clara has a way of dealing with Luca's domineering ways with her colourful stubbornness, which ensures she eventually brings him around to her way of thinking. They are so perfect for each other. Luca was totally and utterly beguiled by Clara. There would be no other for him. Feisty Clara feels the same soul deep love for Luca. They had the haters that could not bear for them to be happy together, but it would take a herculean effort to separate these two. The tale of Luca and Clara took me with them to Sicily and their other various travels like I was sitting right there with them. And as usual for this author, the story contain lots of humour, lots of hot loving, lots of drama and heartache, with two characters we all envy and want to be sometimes in our fantasies. Thank you to Jaimie Roberts, for providing me with this sublime story. Your books are a blissful source of escape, entertainment and beauty, creating a love story that I will not be forgetting any time soon. It will be a very difficult task finding a book to match the class that this author produces.

Usually I have a bunch of words to throw after Jaimie Roberts and always positive ones too but for a change I feel like I lack words.

I have been pining for this book for so long (Jaimie knows this very well) and I must say that the book was worth the wait.

In this sequel we get see more facets of both Luca and Clara: we get to laugh with them and we get to cry with them. But though we get these new facets they still do not deviate from the two characters we fell in love with in "Luca: You Will Be Mine".
Luca is still as domineering as ever and there are scenes occurring in this book that make you wanna hit him on the head.
At the same time is Clara also still the same incredibly strong woman who can stand up to a man like Luca.

Where I think this book do deviate from the first though is when it brings up topics so painful that your heart cracks along side those of our two main characters', adding even more depth to the story. AND this is where I feel Jaimie often has her strength; she doesn't deviate from a topic just because it is painful and neither does she withdraw pain by saying "Just kidding.. The bad stuff did not actually happen, it was just a dream". This in turn creates the result of me have tremendous respect for her writing.

SO.. Read this because Jaimie Roberts never disappoints; she creates characters so raw and real that you can't help but feel what they feel. And read this because you want to be drawn in and strapped down by a so intense story that it stays with you even after you close the book at the end.

So I have been waiting for this book for 2 years! I know two years! From someone who won’t wait more than 6 months for any book! Well I will make the accept ion for this book. But I guess you have been wondering if I think it was worth the wait…well I guess you will have to read this review to find out.

So we left Luca book 1 at a cliff hanger that nearly killed me! That right Luca was married when Clara finds out she heads for the hills, only to be kidnapped by a crazy and shady relative of Luca’s and one of the ex-girls's from the castle! Will Luca be able to save her? And is Luca married? Oh there are so many questions rolling around in my head at that point in the book!! But I am going to leave it there as I will truly spoil the story and that is just not fair to anyone…I know, you hate me right now!

Now let me tell you some more about the basics of this book though. The writing of this book was superb! I honestly felt like I was there witnessing this happen in front of me! And I absolutely LOVE that! The plot was gripping as well as HOT!! Oh boy was it hot and at times literally made my toes curl. Now on to the characters; Clara has toned her feistiness down a little and that was was a little referees hint. Where it comes to Luca, you see his softer side especially when it comes to Clara.

Overall the book was WELL WORTH the 2 year wait and that is why I give it 5 stars.

-That is how I felt when I read this book, since the other book left the readers in cliffhanger and it made me hate Luca.
image: description
-This is how felt when I read Luca's answer of his whole why I'm sorry I'm married, you know since I forgot to tell you since I asked you To marry me.
image: description
- This is how I felt when everything was working out for the characters they were happy and I was happy then Mrs. Roberts had to go and brake my heart.
image: description
-My last reaction after I read the whole book, at the end I was like NO where is the rest of the ending!
I really enjoyed this book and Luca was a great OTT Alpha male and I hope his uncle it's his own book and maybe in that book we learn more of what to Luca and his wife (Hint).
So did I enjoy this book? Y
Would I reread it in the future? Y
Would I recommend this book to another OTT fan? Y

Well I was very happy to get reacquainted with Clara and Luca, as I suspect after book 1 finished they were VERY happy to be reacquainted with other. I was a little surprised that Clara forgave and gave in so quickly considering how she was in the first book, but I suppose this time she was madly, deeply in love. We got a lot more introductions to new characters and a bit more to the story, since there relationship has already been established in this instalment.

I agree with Clara, I can just hear Luca's voice in my head speaking Italian, getting turned on and wanting to experience my own f***-love with Luca. So we still get our hot sex, but we get hot sex with sweetness, and I love hearing them tell each other 'I love you'. My heart absolutely broke for them both towards the end, yep I got a little misty eyed, but they got through it in the end. I hope there will be a book 3, the epilogue didn't give me complete closer, so here's hoping for another book. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Carolyn

LUCA:BECAUSE YOU'RE MINE starts off right where the previous book left off. Clara is upset to learn that Luca is married, and is not impressed he did not tell her about his marriage of convenience. From there the story takes many twists and turns. Just when Luca and Clara feel that they will have a happy ever after, something life changing happens which threatens their happiness. Luca is a dangerous man when it comes to his mafia connection. He has many enemies and those enemies want to destroy him. Will Clara pay the cost?
I found myself experiencing many emotions while reading this book. One minute I was laughing, then crying. Jaimie Roberts messes with your head a bit, so be warned. Such an excellent book!

All I can say is wow. Jaimie you are such a talented writer. I look forward to your books, sheesh I need you to write faster, ha. Honestly I fell in love with Luca and Clare with the first book o.m.g. Luca could make me so angry then make me melt in the next breath. I can only imagine what poor Clare was going through. He is one hot male and so dominate. The fact that Clare was dominate to just added fuel to the flame and kept us on our toes. Trust me we all want a man like Luca to come home to us, The dreams and fun we could have, Clare is his match in every way and to see them together is like drinking fine wine. If you haven't read these books you need to trust me, you will be thankful.

Wow! This book pulls you in and I was so emotionally attached! Her writing is phenomenal! There were many times I had tears streaming down my face. Clara and Luca overcame so much together. You meet so many more characters that play such an important part in their story. Their friends and employees are so awesome! They pull together to help any way that they can when crisis arises. Sophia is a godsend <3 And at the end after such a devastating loss, They find their way back to each other. Exactly where they should be. This is an author I will always one click even without reading a description<3 Her work stays with you always.

Finally, the concluding part of Luca & it is amazing. Jaimie has a talent for building strong characters with intriguing histories and complex storylines that make you feel real emotions.

Book 2 gives us a deeper look into Luca and if you didn't fall in love with him before you definitely will after this book.

I was giving the honour of reading this book prior to its release. Thank you so much Jaimie, can't wait to see what you come out with next.

She's done it again. This is part 2 so need to read part 1 first and trust me you'll be hooked. Every time I write a review of jaimies books I always add she's one of my favorite authors and this series is one of the reasons why. Strong female character and alpha male to die for what more do you need. Definitely a must read and a favorite of 2016.

Older me reading

I've read these two books before . I really don't know if its me being older but I can't remember being so annoyed with this book before. The fact that she runs the kind of house ... Doesn't bother me . Its the fact that this has really put forth her absolute helpless against men even tho writer tried to write her as a woman that was strong independent and caring for her girls.Every time they got into each others orbit it ended same way .Her trying to stand up for herself and them ending up having sex as if her brain was wire one way .Dumb and throw some good-looking man that totally ignored what she was saying and she was bouncing a small.brain around the space left in her head .It was oh, listen to the little woman. pat her head and tell her not to worry about mens business that had me saying," I liked this book when !??"
This was absolutely that way..like Its tradition that he go to strip joint with the boys before I get married but you must stay home because I say and that's the way it is .Even though she went to a club no men was swinging their junk in her face or walking around half naked. And let me just say if where he was at was no place for her then it definitely was no place for him . My age must be showing because I can see that at one time I could have read this as a Alpha male type read and now reading it as he said I can't do what now? While he leaves for three days with no word? Yea right . The me now would have moved on with life an he'd have to grovel till I was ready to listen and that's with him towing the line . so I gave three stars because another me must have liked it but the older me thinking this is all a bunch of poo that the writer tried to write as a Alpha strong man and I felt that it was the wrong way to treat a independent woman .🤷

Another 5* read

I absolutely adore this authors writing and I'm currently going to the beginning and reading all her books. I actually found her from her most recent titles but so far I'm loving them all. I love luca's overbearing side and how clara doesn't give in without a fight. Defiantly one for my top 10 this year

WoW WoW WoW!!! This book was nail biting, nerve wracking and passionately addictive. Jaimie Roberts is my new favorite author! My only issue was that Luca was a bit soft for a Mob Boss, if you compare other books. But overall this was a great book, great story and even a few tears was shed when Clara was shot. But great work indeed.

HOOKED ON BOOKS REVIEWER
When Luca's past and present, meet with his present and future, the secret devastates Clara. She is heartbroken and she goes into hiding. Not wanting to endure any more pain, she calls one of her clients for help. Once she is away, she finds she can't hide forever and needs to give Luca the opportunity to explain.

Luca is like a bull, raging and ranting when he finds out Clara has left after his secret is revealed. He is on one mission and that is to find Clara and try as he might, to prove his love for her is real.

Bringing his Clara back home, he only has one thing to resolve, but to do that, he must break his promise to the only other woman who has his heart, his Mom. By breaking this promise, Luca finds secrets that were kept from him and he must keep his own heart insulated and to resolve his own secret.

Clara keeps her mind on her Castle while Luca is off to take care of his unresolved issue. But as time goes by and Luca still is gone, Clara must hold onto their love of one another to get her through.

Luca and Clara find the happiness each gives the other, but with Luca's family comes danger and heartache for both of these characters.

You can feel their love with each page grow stronger, then when the unthinkable happens, this draws on their relationship but also makes them stronger. Clara is broken, but her characters strength from her own past and the love from Luca, enables her to overcome her despair and grief. Luca's retribution for the deplorable act that almost cost him his future with Clara, is fitting and gives Luca the satisfaction of revenge.

Loved all the emotional complexities through out this book.
