A collection of short, insightful essays on myriad subjects by a published newspaper columnist. Cameron has a sharp but compassionate eye and takes great joy in the little things in life, such as watching the planes at the airport with a gaggle of little boys while the adults sit there, irritated at the wait and oblivious to the miracle of flight. I actually enjoy her sharper, angrier, clearly-not-family-newspaper-material essays best, particularly one in which she points out the condescending tone so often taken with cancer patients and their families. I find her most compelling -- and brave in her brutal honesty -- when she's wrestling with her own pain, anger, and grief. That's not the bulk of the book, but it's my favorite part, and for me a good reason to keep an eye on this writer.

Wonderful essays. As a reader, I can revisit this book again and again always finding thoughts and ideas I didn't see or grasp the first time I read I. Well worth the time.
