So this book wasn’t quite what I was hoping it would be. I was really hoping for a book that would help build my faith, but this didn’t quite do it. Some of the daily meditations were really good and interesting but others felt a little bit preachy. I actually thought the last 10 that weren’t focused on the beatitudes were the best. For someone who is having a bit of a faith crisis this was not the right book.
I've never felt pulled greatly to the Beattitudes. This book personalized them a little better for me with everyday context. I'm still not aware enough but this helps greatly. And I gave considerable thoughts to the deficiencies in myself which make them more distant. Some dry humor -- like you would expect from a good nun. Well worth the time to read -- and it flies by faster than it should.
A journey through and explanation of the Beatitudes. The author writes in unpretentious language and sprinkles personal stories and humor throughout her explanations-an often inspiring book.
