Higher or Lower

I joined the Navy in 1976. My boot camp company commander, Sonar Technician First Class Neal, told us repeatedly to “touch the sky.” By that, he explained, he was talking about obtaining all you could out of any endeavor you undertook. He made us promise to always attempt, at least, “to touch the sky.” I have had only four periods of writing in my The Beginning ~ 1974-1976 The Dark Ages ~ 1982-1988 New Beginning ~ 1988-1993 The Awakening ~ 2007-? The poetry in this volume is selected from all four groups.
