Where is Two-Face? Missing since Halloween, is he responsible for the Dark Victory murders? Batman has to find him—and that means confronting Solomon Grundy!

I am reading this for the first time alongside the batman high volume podcast coming out, and for this issue SPECIFICALLY, if you haven't listened to the podcast alongside it...re-read it. The audio work is TOP TIER and elevates all the amazing art on the page. In this issue batman's hunt for two-face continues and now brings batman down into the sewer system where he believes Harvey is hiding. And after a few nights of leaving out food, batman has finally had a line pull on his bait...Grundy. Batman has also been spiking the food with tranquilizers, making it easy for Grundy to calm down and lead batman the way towards where Harvey is staying. Grundy actually shuffles his way towards a door marked "Harvey Dent - District Attorney," I guess Harvey stole his own door at one point, lol.
Elsewhere another body with a hangman's game has been found on it. This time spelling out "And Justice For All." And with the note, it's attached to another dead dirty cop. He was found in the back of Maroni's restaurant, and with this being the second dead cop on their property...Gordon decided to arrest the brothers in charge.
In the sewer system Harvey's office is relatively normal, save the sewage up to your knees. It has a picture of his wife on a desk, and filing cabinets rigged to explode when batman tries to open one. As it blows up, batman and Grundy go flying into the depths of the sewer system, batman reaching out to try and save Grundy. For the first time batman is starting to realize that going about it alone in this darkness may not be the best decision. And I couldn't agree more.
Batman is not the only one out tonight, Selina has decided to stir up some business of her own. Going and surprising Sofia in the confines of her home to make a proposition. Selina will find her father's body, and Sofia will pay her one million dollars...the same price as the bounty Carmine once put on her head. Selina doesn't reveal why she wants to do it, and Sofia doesn't say no.
As Batman pulls Grundy out of the water he thought for a moment he spotted the shadow of Harvey in the sewer system, but as he gave chase he once again lost him. Elsewhere, we get yet another scene where DA Porter is ducking in secret areas for a secret lover. My number 1 guess is still Mario Falcone. Also as it turns out, before Selina left to have a convo with Sofia...she was waiting for Bruce to celebrate New Years Eve...he left her alone...again. This morning he came with a bag full of things Alfred made as an apology, and while Sofia is ready to be done with him...they aren't over yet. Lastly, as the issue comes to an end we see Jim call Porter for a meeting. She arrived at a bit of a bad time, with Jim talking to Barbara about missing her and wanting to see his son but being too busy at work. Maybe if batman would actually work with him Jim's stress would be relieved a bit. Additionally maybe Jim wouldn't have to do what he is doing now...putting together a task force to stop this cop killer with people the Chief vouched for before he died. An undercover squad which will now include Porter that only answers to Jim to weed through all the corruption once and for all. Porter has concerns about bending the rules without breaking them, but Jim can only laugh...as that's something Harvey told him once. It's good advice.

Loeb's storytelling is good. I've had a break between #3 and $4, but I am easily able to pick up the story. Two Face is missing. Batman seeks him out in the city's underground. There he encounters Solomon Grundy who Batman has tranqulized. Batman sees parallels in their lives including Two Face: isloated, brooding, alone. I can relate.
Meanwhile, Catwoman propositions Sofia. She promises to retrieve Sofia's dead father's corpse in exchange for $1,000,000.
Jim misses Barbara. He informs the new DA that he will assemble a secret task force of new officers who Chief O'Hara recommended before he died to investigate Harvey's disappearance.
I really like how Batman sees himself in Solomon Grundy and Two-Face via their habit of making lairs underground. And there's some progression in Gordon and Porter's storyline, which leaves me curious about what'll happen with them.
Solomon Grundy appears in this issue, maybe just a introduction to the his appearance in dark victory (I mean didn't necessarily feel moved as other characters like scare crow for example, maybe he has something to do later on).
