Tyler Warren felt like the luckiest girl alive when her very own Prince Charming proposed. Her euphoria was short-lived, though. Before long, she was wishing she could skip right over the fairy tale wedding and go straight to the happily ever after.
In her job as a wedding planner, Tyler has grown accustomed to dealing with demanding brides and their challenging family members. But nothing in her career prepared her for dealing with the most difficult Mother of the Bride she’s ever encountered—her own. Suddenly, eloping seems like an attractive wedding option.
The third volume in the Tales Behind the Veils series follows Tyler’s hilarious efforts to rein in Mama as they both plan the same wedding with very different visions. It’s enough to make an engaged wedding planner feel sympathy for bridezillas, even as she struggles not to become one.
Violet Howe enjoys writing romance with humor. She lives in Florida with her husband (her knight in shining armor!) and their adorable but spoiled dogs. When she’s not writing, Violet is usually watching movies, reading, or planning her next travel adventure. To learn more about Violet or her books, visit www.violethowe.com.
I have related to Tyler in her journey so very much, but never as strongly as I did in this book. Tyler’s relationship with her mother and her struggles to stand up for herself resonated with me so very deeply. Tyler feels like she may be exhibiting bridezilla behavior and being unreasonable, when she had every right to be frustrated with situations arising in the planning of her wedding.
And throughout the story and the struggles with her mother, Cabe and Tyler’s relationship flourished and we got to see them start to forge their path forward together.
Tyler and Cabe’s story, from book 1 through to this one, is tumultuous but so real and so raw at times. The closing scene is the best way to leave these two - they’ll have bumps undoubtedly, but they have built a foundation that will be hard to shake.
Diary of an Engaged Wedding Planner (Tales Behind the Veils, #3) - R Violence: none Language: around 100, including deity Sex: descriptive kissing, easily skipped "everything but intercourse"
I so wish I hadn't gotten invested in this couple. Whew! You'll definitely want to read these three books in order and don't skip one because this is a SAGA. I rode the Tyler and Cabe train all the way, but there were definitely parts where the drama/trauma went on WAY too long. Overall, I liked the series. I don't think I'd ever read it again, though because Tyler's life exhausted me.
YES, I made it through the end of Tyler and Cabe's annoying love story! I wish I could say I enjoyed it, but that would be a lie. Why? Let's count the ways:
1. I HATE Tyler's mother. Why write a character this way? Does the author have an issue with her own mother that she worked through by writing this? Did she think having Patsy not honor a single request of Tyler, to treat her like a child who didn't know her own mind and to insist that what she wanted for the wedding was right, while what Tyler wanted was all wrong was amusing or would make us like Tyler more? No on all counts. All Tyler did in defense of herself was cry (and cry and cry) or avoid her mother's calls and then the only way Patsy was stopped was when Tyler's sister intervened?? Tyler is a child. UGH!
2. Cabe is still unlikable. Other than him being soooo attractive, what is the appeal exactly?? He is still far too secretive, moody and needy at the same time to be the ideal love interest in a romance. He is such a turnoff to me.
3. The whole subplot of Tyler "interning" with Reynalda was so dumb! Who interns with a rival in their field when they have a full-time job? What was the point of this ridiculous scenario and character? I thought there would at least be the payoff of Heidi, Reynalda's assistant coming to work with Tyler, but nope, didn't do the obvious thing with that.
4. Their relationship - The wedding was so anticlimactic since Tyler and Cabe married in secret a month before. I was so uninterested in their romance that I couldn't stop thinking it wasn't legal. Did they have a marriage license? Why get married like that. Again, another example of a teenage view of what is romantic and having Tyler be a supporting character in her own life, rather than the leading lady. She had absolutely no agency in her own life! She and Cabe talked about eloping from the very beginning, yet she let him talk her into not doing that, then not getting married in Orlando, where she felt most comfortable and could have the wedding she wanted BOTH of them to have, then when they did have the small intimate wedding she actually wanted, Cabe ambushed her with it, rather than having an actual conversation, deciding together, and giving her the CHOICE of how and when to do it. This is not romantic, this is him being the one in charge in their entire life together. He made all of the decisions as to what type of relationship they would have - whether they would be friends, lovers, live together, get married, buy a house, have a dog, how they would get married - on and on. This is why I didn't like these books, I just figured it out; Tyler is like a game piece that Cabe moves around when and how he sees fit, with Tyler giving herself over to it and then convincing herself that what he wants is what she wanted all along. UGH!!
5. The fake wedding - Purple and silver, REALLY??!?? With winter and snowflake theming? How juvenile that sounds. Velvet dresses?? Perhaps I have a poor imagination, but this sounds ugly and again, something a teenager would like (purple was my favorite color until I became an adult) rather than something a grown woman who plans weddings for a living, would pick.
If there were a 4th book that actually dealt with Tyler and Cabe, I suppose it would be Diary of a Pregnant Wedding Planner, but I can only imagine how Cabe would act in that book and how many tears Tyler would shed...if this happens, I will definitely pass!

OMG. What a great end of trilogy. The frustration most brides feel with Mom came out very cleanly. Love the enduring love, patience, calm, and reassurance Cabe was for Ty. Tyler also did awesome with the apprentice situation. I wanted to slap Reynelda so bad. She is a publicly hound and not good at her job. The wedding i could vision as simple, purposeful, most romantic, and cherished memory of all. The one by "their bench ".....think all brides should have a little intimate ceremony to take edge off the franco of giggling other's feelings about THEIR wedding. Violet did awesome with this...OFF THE CHARTS good...😊❤❤💋

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, even the cringe worthy parts. This whole series has sucked me in and kept me page turning until the very end. Here it is, it’s finally time for Tyler and Cabe to get married and there are so many laugh out loud parts you’re completely entertained. Ms. Howe has added so many side characters from Tyler’s family and hometown, you’ll want a book of just their stories! It’s great when you get invested in the side characters almost as much as the mains. Yes, you get laugh out loud funny parts, but you also get the Happy Ever After that both Tyler and Cabe deserve. This was just a joy to read.
I ended up downloading the first book for free then I got hooked. I love sappy Hallmark movies, but I honestly don’t read books like that. We recently got rid of our cable so for the Christmas season I missed watching all that sap. It was a good thing I had these books. Each one I personally think got better. I mean I always knew what the ending was going to be but I just had to know how they got there. It was great! Very much enjoyed the books, and seriously these could be 3-part Hallmark movies. Why not???
I loved this couple, and the craziness of wedding planning kept the story interesting and moving. The relationship that Tyler has with her mother was frustrating at times, but I felt like Patty was authentic and it didn't get old; Tyler stood up for herself, but it didn't matter because her mother railroaded her, the mother's manipulation and victimization of Tyler was very effective. This was a very sweet and funny ending to a great story! Enjoyed it so much!
Well I have a favorite new author- Violet Howe! This series was real, funny and so romantic! I worried Ty would lose her prince by the end because the story line had been rocky previously but the end- wow! Think Shopholic series with southern charm- a total must read. Ty and Cabe's romance is the best and the wedding (night) is wirth waiting for!
Remember in my last review I spoke of family dynamics? Well you want to see some fire works between family? Well then this here book.....this is where to get it! Ty is marked a SAINT from here on out! Til the end of time!
Ty has to try to wrangle her mother into letting her have the wedding of her dreams and her southern as can be Momma, wants a southern wedding....pot luck and all.
Will Cabe and Ty be able to have the happily ever after of their dreams? Turn that page and find out!
I pretty much binge read this series.....once I started I just couldn't stop. Following the ups and downs this couple had, I sometimes became irritated with her, but it is in a diary format so this was mostly her inner turmoil, which we all know is a lot different that what we show the rest of the world. He was wonderful, allowing her to vent and over react time and time again. Plus he really knew her and that was such an important part of their relationship.
Loved this book soo much! It will make you tearful and feel the stress of Tyler's wedding! Soo happy that Tyler and Cabe are finally together and will have a happily ever after. Loved all the characters and thr story.
Violet Howe has done it again with this book! If you haven't read the first two books in the series, I suggest reading those first and then reading this. It will make you angry at times and cry at others. Such a great series!
This is a great follow up to book 2. We see Tyler work through some very painful issues with Cabe. I appreciated that the very real issues weren’t glossed over just because Cabe proposed. Tyler and Cabe do the real work and have real conversations about what happened. I feel this was a bitter sweet story of planning your own wedding while working through family issues and making the story your own. I was teary eyed at points and laughing at others. Nice story and well-paced.
I loved getting to know Tyler and all her crazy brides! This time, she's the bride-and the ride is even crazier! I'm so happy she and Cabe found their happy ever after. I sort of thought it would be a great job to be a wedding planner. Now I know it's a job I'd never want! But I really loved this series. I recommend this highly!
Good short story ,read all three in a few days keeps interest ,cute caratures, some parts drag but overall fun to read and a very easy read ,not recommend for under age girls , sexual parts a bit much could have done with out the details and still made point
Liked the story, still more of stressful time for Tyler and Cabe then the first book but hopefully the next one will be less so. Deacon was a lot more neurotic then I thought he would be but I've had pets before with similar issues so I get it. Definitely going to be reading the next book.
I couldn’t finish the book fast enough! Her mom bugged me in some places but don’t all mothers bug us at some points? A quick read but definitely made my heart happy.

Why'd you pick this book? I got this far, might as well finish it

Favorite and Least Favorite part: The antiquated values are something I can’t understand, but I was very proud of Cabe

Love this book times infinity!!!!! Violet Howe definitely delivered on the "Diary" series! If you have not read "Diary of a single wedding planner" "Diary of a wedding planner in love" and "Diary of an engaged wedding planner" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PICK THIS SERIES UP! You WILL NOT be disappointed!!!!
Disclaimer I received a free advanced reader copy of this book from the amazing author through her street team the Ultra Violets! I loved this book! Can't get enough of Tyler and Cabes love story. The bridezillas (and even a groomzilla) were even crazier and had me busting out laughing. Fair warning have tissues ready for the last few chapters you'll need them for all the happy tears!
I really liked this book! I learned more about the characters, especially Cabe because he was more developed and I learned more about his background. The book was funny and sweet. There were parts of it where I laughed out loud. This was a fun and enjoyable book to read!
I was sad to see this series end...but sssooo HAPPY with how it did. I feel like Tyler would easily be a best "gal pal" of mine...and I would HIGHLY recommend her as a TOP NOTCH Wedding Planner if she were real
I loved reading through until the big day. Ended a bit abruptly for me though. Would have been great to be able to see a bit more into their future since it took us so long to get to their happy ending. Maybe we'll get a short story in the future?
This book was a great ending to this sweet series and love story between Tyler and Cabe. The relationship between Tyler and her mother was frustrating but believable.
How does a wedding planner plan a wedding and keep everyone happy? Be a Bridezilla, let her mother design an event, or just elope? Plus an internship from Hades makes this engaged girl stressed out...oh but those kisses :-)
