Going All the Way was a good read.
I enjoyed watching Stacia and Jason story unfold. These two opposites were likable & relatable, the chemistry was off the charts and I loved how hard they tried to put their feelings aside to work together and remain professional but failed lol
Overall Going All The Way is a well written read with strong characters that will entertain you.

Stacia Kendall was just fired from her job as an image consultant on what became a losing political campaign with the blame falling onto her. Feeling a bit down and not knowing what she'll be doing next Stacia finds herself flirting with an attractive man and thinking maybe a one night stand is just what she needs right now.
Sneaking off after her night of passion Stacia finds herself being sent to a new job consulting for a baseball player who's image needs work. Out of the political arena Stacia still wants to prove herself to her overbearing father a prominent and powerful Senator. When Stacia arrives to fulfill the contract though she finds none other than Jason Friar, the man she just left sleeping in his bed.
Going All the Way is the first book in the Knights of Passion series. This one was just an OK read in my opinion though. The story of the female character working with the hot, broody athlete is not a new one but the question I always have in this case is why would a professional female put her job on the line crossing the line between private and professional relationships? With this particular story though at least the characters had started their physical attraction before working together to save me from completely disliking a strong woman crossing that line. Otherwise, the writing and characters in this story were done well so it's just my own opinion of that professional line crossing that brought my rating down a bit.

Although Going All The Way is the first in the Knights of Passion series, it is not the first of the books I have read. Each is a standalone novel, though, so it’s perfectly acceptable to pick and choose which ones you want to read (although I would suggest reading them in order). Having read the most recent of the books first – book three – I found it was nice to go back and read where the series started.
As the first book in the series, Going All The Way is a great introduction to the world. Having read a couple of the author’s books, I can safely say this book delivers all she is known for – passion, emotion, and a gripping tale. I’ll admit that it isn’t my favourite of her books, but it is a great first read for the series. Had I not already read one of the other books in the series, this one would have ensured I went on to read the future books. It sets the tone well, it leaves us with the promise of better things to come – and not to give any spoilers, but the later book in the series that I have already read does deliver even more than this one. In fact, I now plan to go on and read the second book in the series to ensure I am up to date with the Knights of Passion.
Going All The Way is a story of complex characters and the connection between the two. From the very start I was pulled into the characters story, wanting to know how things played out. They both gripped me, leaving me wanting more. Although there was some predictability to be seen, although certain reveals about the past were a bit on the clichéd side, I couldn’t help but love them both. There was a wonderful chemistry between the two of them, they worked so well together, and the development that occurred throughout was great to see. I admit that there were some points in the story where things seem to lull somewhat, but as a whole the story was a great read that gave so much more than a simple sports romance.
Overall, this was a great introduction to the series. Even though I know nothing about baseball, I’ve certainly fallen in love with the characters in this series. I am, without a doubt, excited to read the remaining book needed for me to be up to date with the series.

Going all the way, really? That is not how it felt while reading this book. It is true that both characters went all in when it comes to sex, but what about their emotions? Let me take you on Stacia and Jason journey. Jason was an all star baseball player that had everything going on for him, until he hurt his shoulder. At that moment, everything went south for him. Stacia is an image consultant in the Political Arena and had made a professional misstep that left her job in jeopardy. Her friend Sophie took her out to drink some Southern Comfort and it ends up with Stacia and Jason sharing a one night stand together, or so she thinks. The following day she receives a call to be an image consultant for a baseball player in The Knights. To her astonishment, the player is none other than Jason.
Physical attraction is at the heart of the story. At one point, there were 2 bed scenes back to back and too much is like not enough. I just got tired of these physical encounters without deeper feelings. Furthermore, there is very little built-up leading up to their passionate exchange. Sure there was heat, but it would have been way more engaging if it would have been fought against it instead of instant gratification.
Jason got a temper, I get it. He is a jerk, I get it as well. I felt that the author went too stereotypical with him. A little over the top and it is preventing me to totally connect with him. He redeemed herself toward the end, but he was so intense in the beginning that I feel like there is a big gap concerning this character development. That hurt the story in the long run.
Stacia is a good girl that just wants to break free from her father. She has an affair with Jason (that is totally out of character for her) and just wanted to go with the flow. It just didn’t do it for me. I had a hard time connecting with her and to know what she really wanted. It was unclear for me what path she really wanted to follow and who she really is deep down inside.
Jason’s mother, Celia, is the character I loved the most. She is real, funny and in a league of her own when it is time to tell it like it is. On the other hand, Stacia’s father is a total jerk, with no empathy at all. Then again, I feel like this character was a little over the top. She did a great job making me despise him, but I would have like seeing more weaknesses here and there.
The story line and plot were good, that is the main reason why I gave 3 stars. I love the scenes that were set in the baseball club environment and see their careers take an unexpected turn. What bring down this book are the characters, nonetheless, the author has talent. With a story with characters that have more depth… it would have been a homerun.
Overall, it is not a bad book, just missing some key elements to make the characters truly believable.

Megan Ryder’s Going All the Way gets her new Knights of Passion series off to a respectable start. A professional bad boy baseball player whose career is on the skids for multiple reasons must work with an image consultant in order to fulfill the only contract available to him, but the woman he recommends is someone whose own career is in transition and his reason for hiring her is purely selfish. I always love a romance where a wild, crazy one night stand comes back to bite one or both parties in the a$$ and that’s exactly what I got in Going All The Way.
Jason Friar has once chance left to redeem his pro baseball career following a year off rehabbing a shoulder injury and after facing a steroid use investigation, not to mention his sexual exploits. The only team willing to take a chance it having a good year, but are usually bottom cellar dwellers, but taking this contract will get him back in the game, the only thing that has ever mattered to him. When the team insists on a media consultant or babysitter for him, he is thrilled to offer up a suggestion.
All her life Stacia Kendall has been groomed for the political arena, with a senator father she has lived her life in the limelight so when her current client derails his campaign with one too many dalliances, and she takes the blame since she refused to become romantically involved with him. Needing to change up her life Stacia does something very out of character and then accepts a job that she knows will not please her father, but in doing so she puts herself in the position of helping a man with his reputation when she knows exactly how he got that reputation.
I always appreciate a book where the characters grow and change and both the main characters experienced a bit of a metamorphosis in this story. Jason went from a loner, chip on his shoulder bad boy to a clubhouse leader and mentor in his professional life and understanding the difference between a warm body and a woman of strength and character. I actually grew to really love Jason because it was evident he was hurting, but once he realized that while the last two years or so of his life had been difficult he could have had it much worse. When Stacia shared her story with him, he began to see that while he’d had some difficult times his life could have been so much worse. I was disappointed in his behavior towards the end and in fact felt that part of the story was a bit contrived. I think Stacia represented a woman on the edge and she was pushed one too many times and finally grew a backbone and decided it was time to live her life to her standards.
While I’d like to believe that came totally from within, I think in large that was due to being with a man who she could really let her hair down with, someone who wouldn’t judge her based on who her father was or preconceived notions about her. I also think the complete and utter approval from Jason’s mother before they were really even a couple helped her see her own self worth. Just FYI Jason’s mother was a total trip and I would love to see her get a happily ever after.
Problems with this story for me was at times it was a bit repetitive and while there was no doubt these two connected physically, I would have loved more scenes with them really divulging their pasts and getting to know one another better on a cerebral level.
Overall, I highly Going All The Way and I look forward to reading more of this exciting baseball series!

I liked the idea of this book. I love sports romance. I love a heroine with drive and determination. This book gives you both of those things. But, I felt that both characters were static. They seemed so flat and hard to relate to. Jason is the cliche bad boy athlete; Stacia is the girl determine to prove everyone wrong. There is lots of heat between the two (seriously-they kind of use sex as an ice breaker!) but I didn't believe in the relationship. Like, I kind of felt that if we were to check on them in 5 years or something they would be bitter and separated.
So, why 3 stars? Again, its a sports romance and Ryder did a great job with the baseball stuff. I enjoyed that it was baseball and not football or hockey (because seriously there are like a million books of those 2 sports). I loved that Stacia was so determined and tenacious. The story isn't poorly written or anything; I just think it could have been better. But, if you love baseball, badly behaving athletes and smart, independent women, you will enjoy this book.

He's a recovered from injury baseball player trying to get back into the game. She's a political image maker trying to get out of it. They combine for a sexy, unusal duo as she tries to rescue his image while not damaging her own. It's a really fun read that will keep you guessing until the very end.

All the way for sex and anyway, anyplace, anytime. What about the emotional investment? There was good and bad. There were highs and lows. This duo has much to gain and lose with their coming together. Its go all in or go down trying.
Jason had a problem and Stacia has one but she was going to use Jason to fix her problem. While of course working on his problem. They both had things to work through to make this sexy, passion filled romance more than what it appeared to be from the outside.

I enjoyed this fun story and the fight within to do the right thing to stay true to yourself. Stacia is let go from a job, so she and her bestie hit a bar, where she picks up Jason. They have a great one night stand, and then run into each other the following day at Stacia's new job. While they had some ups and down, I would have liked to had a stronger connection between them. I enjoyed the sports angle of the story, even though I am not a baseball fan.

This was an okay read but the ending was rushed and there wasn’t so much a love story as jumping into sex.
Jason is an all-star major league baseball player until he suffers and injury to his shoulder. Now, he’s struggling to find a spot on a team because the season is already underway and no one is in need of a first-baseman, especially one who has a reputation for being a bit out of control. Stacia works in politics as an image consultant and when she makes a mistake her boss, who also happens to be her father, puts the kid gloves back on to deal with her. With her career hanging in the balance Stacia’s best friend Sophie insists they go out for drinks and manages to talk Stacia into letting go for one night – Stacia chooses Jason as her one night stand. The next morning Stacia gets a phone call that she’s going to be the image consultant for none other than Jason.
Jason has a bad attitude the entire first half of the book and it made connecting with his character difficult, I found that it really took away from the story. I really liked Stacia I found her breaking away from her father and doing the one-night stand thing that turns into more really kept me reading. My favorite character though had to have been Jason’s mom, she’s was hilarious. I’m a huge baseball fan and the author does a phenomenal job with those scenes, the sex scenes were good too they just would have been better more spread out. Like I said, all together a good read it just needed a bit more romance and less attitude from the hero side.

I love sports-themed romances and Megan Ryder doesn't disappoint with the first of a new series. This story is for those who like a lot of sexy spice with their romance. Jason is a cocky jock who is getting one last shot to save his career. Stacia, a woman he had a one-nighter with, is an image consultant who needs to prove that she can handle her job. The sparks fly between them hot and heavy, but they both need to stay focused. And that proves to be a lot harder than either thought.
The story is hot and this is more of an erotic read. The steamy sizzle is there and it takes some time for their romance to come together. I do like Jason and Stacia and it is fun watching them try to stay professional. This is a fast paced story with lots fun and heat.

Bright lights and big dreams lead to broken hearts. With success on their minds and hope in their hearts, Jason and Stacia set out to follow dreams, but in hindsight the reality proved harder to take than the fantasy. Sports stories are not usually my forte. However, I am becoming more enamored of them with every chance that I take on one. Going All The Way is more than just a sports story. It's a journey of faith, redemption and love. I enjoyed Stacia's strength of character and determination. The perfect female heroine. NEVER GIVE UP, is the message and Ms. Ryder's characters practiced what they preached. With little motivation, a bit of inspiration and the heart of a champion, anything is possible.

Ohhhh I really liked this one. Although once I got through the one night stand part (those stories tend to be towards the bottom of my lists), it was actually an entertaining read.

I couldn't put this book down. It was so good, I read straight through in one sitting.
Stacia and Jason both guard their hearts and try to keep people at a distance. They find each other on a night that they both want to let loose and pretend the rest of their life isn't there waiting.
This one night ties them together and allows them to let each other in as the story unfolds. The rest of the book is low-key angsty, full of drama, and so good. The spice is great but not too much.
Stacia and Jason are richly developed characters. You root for both of them throughout the book. They each help the other become better versions of themselves. You won't regret spending time with them.

Jason Friar doesn't have many options when it comes to returning to the game he loves, but he's desperate enough that he'll accept the offer from the Georgia Knights baseball team. However, certain conditions come with him signing on the dotted line, which is having an image consultant to help with his tarnished reputation.
After failing her latest client in keeping his image clean, Stacia Kendall has nothing to lose. Having a one-night stand might be a bad idea, but she doesn't care, it's not as if she'll see the guy again. However, when she's offered a new position helping to clean up a baseball player's image, she can't believe the player is the man she can't get off her mind.
Right from the beginning, I was captivated by this story, as Stacia has finally decided to stop being a good girl. She needs to let her hair after everything that has happened due to her failing to keep her client's image clean, which has left her father disappointed in her.
The dialogue really drew me into this story, and made me enjoy both the main and secondary characters. Stacia's best friend is protective and I enjoyed her interactions with Jason. Her threat if he hurts her friend amused me. The heroine is strong, brave, tenacious, and stubborn. I liked how she stood up to Jason when he was against anything she wanted him to do, and that she wasn't afraid to blackmail someone to help Jason out. Yet, what I liked most about her was how she finally stood up to her dad; a man that finally needed to realize that his daughter would no longer obey the things he expected of her.
While Jason, he was a fantastic hero and I enjoyed the moments when he teased Stacia to get a reaction out of her. The way he attempted to get her to succumb to the intense chemistry that existed between them until he finally wore her down. He's confident, tenacious and I liked how well Stacia did her job. She improves his image so much so that he becomes a little less hot-tempered, and works hard to help his team-mates. He wants them to take the game more seriously, appreciate baseball the way he does, and encourage them to try harder, to win so they can make the championships.
Overall, Ms. Ryder has written a fun, sexy, engaging read that has left me wanting to read more of this series in the future. The ending wrapped this story up nicely, and illustrated the strong chemistry that existed between this couple right from the start, which exploded onto the pages in hot sex scenes. What happens to Jason made me feel sorry for him, yet Stacia accepting a new job, and giving Jason another chance had me cheering. It was a way for her to finally be happy, and get out from under her father's you-should-do-what-you're-told ruling. I would recommend Going all the Way, if you enjoy sports romance, or strong heroines that finally stand up for what they believe in.

I love diving into a new series - and one about baseball players ... yum! Given the series title I am guessing that we are going to be with the Knights for a while, and that suits me just fine.
This had a decent storyline, with a pretty large cast of side characters - and we get to understand a fair amount about why Stacia and Jason are the people they are today. The parallels between politics and sport - at lest in the sense of them both being media draws and having a reputation for bad behaviour - was well done. I did feel that at times the plot was a little superficial, in the sense that there was a build up to something ... but then it was never that dramatic an outcome. They certainly danced around each other for a very long time, even though the reader has little doubt that the situation will somehow resolve itself. I loved some of the touches, the humour and the cameos. It was quite evident that they had to use considerable restraint when they were near each other, so strong was the pull. I shall watch out with interest for the next installment and see what happens next.

When a one night stand becomes a little complicated.
Stacia has been under her fathers foot for her whole life. So when she realizes just how much her father favors politics to his own blood she is destroyed emotionally. But she refuses to let her fathers betrayal keep her from her job. So she decides to have one wild night of being the complete opposite of herself and then get back to the real world in which she now has a job with a baseball team.
Jason is finally getting his life back on track although he won't be on the team he really wants to be on. But will he be able to keep his new job or will his past and his own problems make it so that he will not be able to continue playing baseball. He has been betrayed numerous times so when a women comes up to him asking for a no strings attached one night stand he's hesitant but the chemistry between them is off the charts.
This was an amazing romance that will not let you put the book down. I definitely recommend this for romance lovers.

I enjoyed this one. The writing is good, the characters were interesting, and it had a nice flow. It's a light easy read that was very entertaining.

He's struggling though, for the first time he is the old guy and needs to be a leader on the team. He's not exactly sure how to do this.

She needs this to work to prove to herself and her overbearing father that she has what it takes. The attraction between Stacia and Jason may be more than her heart can handle though.

A sports romance that actually had some terrific baseball played. The suspense during close games was wonderful and demonstrated the author's gift for a type of writing that grabs your attention and doesn't let go. The close game scenes were some of the best I've read in a very long time.
I truly enjoyed Jason and Stacia's conflicted story from beginning to end. Their characters were well developed, with quite the personalities...quirks and all. I'm glad to see that the series continues, I feel invested in the players and team now, I'd like to see what happens to whom next.

This was an interesting story. Stacia is in charge of trying to reform Jason's image from a wreckless playboy to something more family friendly. Jason just wants to play baseball, and doesn't think he needs the interference. But Stacia and Jason have a ton of chemistry. Although Jason does do everything in his power to scare her away, sometimes a stubborn woman is what it takes to put a guy like Jason in his place.

The book starts slow with Stacia working at a political campaign headquarters and picks up when she is hired to clean up the image of a baseball player who she had happened to have a one night stand with just the night before, and she had no idea who he was.
The book has a sweet ending.

Going all the Way by Megan Ryder was a good sports romance. The first I have read of it's kind. It's a great beginning to the story, and it just takes off from there.
It was well written with great rounded characters and a great setting. Loved all about it.

For the most part I found this an enjoyable read, mixing romance and baseball, with a bit of redemption thrown in for good measure. The characters are interesting, the plot held my interest and it was a good read, but it didn’t blow me away.
Which is a shame, because I liked Stacia. She’s a woman who has had to work very hard to get where she is, despite her father’s influence. Or, rather, mostly because of her father’s influence and his habit of manipulating everyone around him and valuing them only so far as they are useful. I felt really bad for Stacia whenever she came into contact with her father and it made it easy for me to like her. That she’s hard working and determined to do a good job also helped. I loved that she never takes any of Jason’s pouting nonsense and is constantly pushing him to grow up and take responsibility for himself.
Because Jason does need to grow up, badly. Yes, he’s had a tough year and he feels hurt and betrayed because of how he’s been treated, but his surly attitude is not the way to sort anything out. It took him a little longer than I’d expected to wise up, but even when he’s still feeling sorry for himself, the chemistry between him and Stacia is undeniable.
All of which makes the first half a good read, as the pair of them grow closer and Stacia works hard to clean up Jason’s image. However, after the halfway point, the romance is sort of shoved aisde, with fewer and fewer scenes between the two of them. I lost track of where their relationship actually was as Jason finally steps up to take his place in the team and Stacia… mostly spins in circles.
The emotional issues go round in circles a bit too. Both Stacia and Jason realise they are falling in love several times, without growing panicked, before suddenly it’s a massive revelation – complete with panic. Which I found annoying and slightly baffling. The conflict also rises out of something that had been previously discussed and was a massive overreaction, meaning I didn’t much care about it. Then both of them have contradictory thoughts about getting back together, apologising, demanding an apology – often in the same paragraph. It went from an enjoyable read to a bit of an overblown, rushed up mess, though I still liked the characters enough to want to get to the end.
So overall this okay. It suffers from repetition and contradiction at times, the conflict was silly and I would have liked more depth to both characters’ pasts and definitely more about Jason and that coach, but for the most part I enjoyed it. There’s baseball and sex, chemistry and conflict, and I would certainly be interested in reading more from the series.

The night they meet, Stacia and Jason have both had a thoroughly messed up day. After a few drinks, both are looking for some stress relief They indulge in a very passionate one night stand, and she makes her exit before he wakes. Neither expect to see each other again, but hours later they are facing each other across a conference room. Stacia is being hired to clean up Jason’s image and make him look good for the owners and fans of the Georgia Knights baseball team. It will also be a way for her to aggravate her father who had a hand in the drug scandal that ruined Jason’s reputation. Of course Stacia and Jason have to play like they don’t know each other, especially not intimately, at least in front of other people, but both are aware of the sparks and heightened awareness they feel around each other. He thinks he has the upper hand with her, that he will be doing the controlling, but Stacia has had to go up against a master manipulator and control demon her whole life and has learned a few methods to hold her own.
As their story continues, these two are in a battle of wills, each trying to control the other while also trying to control and hide their deepening feelings for each other. Jason’s anger and frustration at the turn his career has taken and the restrictions that have been placed on him make him irritable, growly, and impossible to deal with when he isn’t on the field playing baseball or coaching and encouraging his younger teammates. Unfortunately, Stacia gets the brunt of it, though her father’s actions and words towards her have trained her to hold her in most situations. She is dealing with her own anxieties and fears about her career, as well as trying to settle his. Stacia finally gets through to Jason that she is on his side. She will do everything in her power to help him, including try to protect him from the rabid press, rumours and the like. Together they can get through this season and save both of their reputations and careers. Both undergo a transformation of sorts, a shifting of priorities and goals for their future, some out of necessity, but one thing becomes clear…..they want a shared future.

First written and released a few years, the book is perfect as we begin the MLB season this year.
Jason, great ball player but his attitude has gotten him in trouble, like big trouble. Unfounded attacks by the press and rumors about steroid use almost killed his career. Going from being admired to being shunned isn't fun. Now a team with issues wants him to be their first baseman. He wants and needs the job...but there are conditions to him signing the contract. He has to have a 'baby sitter'. Having just met a woman the night before that might be perfect, he gives her card to the team. She'll never want to do it!
Anastasia 'Stasia' has worked on her father's political campaigns forever. Now her latest 'charge' has mucked up so badly nothing she can do will help him. She's about done with politics.
