Ten years later, “Collaborative Leadership” by Peter Dewitt is relevant and offers effective ways and helpful tips to manage and lead stakeholders at the school level. The Audible narration was easy to follow. The story is impactful.
Great read! It confirms my belief that being present in the classrooms is the most important thing a principal can do on a daily basis. The questions at the end of each chapter helped me reflect on my own practices. I loved the parts where he brings in real leaders who are doing great things in the name of kids. The author includes a lot of blog posts that can be used with teachers and other staff. As a result of the read I'm more interest in Hattie's visible learning approach.
Peter DeWitt is great educator and leadership coach. His suggestion, stories and examples are flowing in the book. Easy to read and apply certain parts.
DeWitt wrote a decent book on collaborative leadership. There were several ideas that I am going to impplement in my own school, including a Parent Advisory Committee. Worth the read.
