Masterpiece is by Juliette Jones. This book was generously provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book by Juliette Jones.
Max Cash was at the height of his career when it happened. Six months ago he was a champion bull rider, the one no one could beat, until the bull got the better of him. Now, six months later he is ready to make his come back. Does he still have the confidence to climb back on that bull’s back? All he needs is eight seconds to hang on. But the joy just isn’t there anymore. Even the rodeo groupies that used to occupy his bed don’t interest him anymore. During the long months of recuperation Max has found something else he is passionate about.

Elle is an assistant curator for an art gallery in New York. Her boss is sending her to Bozeman, Montana to try to sign an artist there he has had his eye on. Elle has dated but has never met someone she cares enough about to be in any kind of relationship with. She’s waiting for ‘the one.’ Maybe she has been reading too many erotic romances lately about sexy cowboys. Now she’s even dreaming about them. So she jumps at the chance to go to Bozeman.

When Elle and Max first meet, sparks fly. Maybe not the best sparks at first. But Max has something Elle needs and she is determined to win him over. Max decides that maybe he will be able to help Elle but he wants something in trade. Will she ever agree to it?
This was a short, sweet and sexy story that hit all my favorite points. Sexy cowboy, check! Well, that’s just one point. But it’s an important one and this book definitely fulfilled it! Elle and Max are two people who have gone as far as they can in their current lives and are both ready to conquer something new. Fate intervened at just the perfect time bringing them together. They were perfect for each other. And the ending was perfect. I definitely want to read more by this author. I really enjoyed this one.

Of course her paths immediately cross, especially because the secret that Max has been keeping a secret is the final link that allows Max to transform their undeniable attraction into something more, since for the first time a woman has not fallen on his feet upon meeting him. Her sassy spirit and her uptight attitude and look that beg for him to dishevel are the final straw to his decision of making her wholesomely his... And he's never letting her go...Not that she wanted it. LOL ;)

This was a fun, sexy and short read, the bull rider and curator thing for the MCs it reminded me a bit of The Longest Ride, by Nicholas Sparks, but that's how far as the similarities go. I enjoyed all the characters, and I would love to hear more about his brother's stories. Max was such a man's man, and you could practically feel the testosterone vibes exuding from him. Yummy! And Holy hotness had the man a filthy mouth on him... (*cue fanning myself*)

I have to say that in this version, he was absolutely perfect! And when he realized that she was the one for him, he was willing to do anything to get her forever. Elle was a smart and confident character and every bit of city girl, but open to explore and see what else was out there for her. And she was more than rewarded for that.
This is the consolidation of every steamy cowboy fantasy compiled in one compact short story!
Again I would like to congratulate Juliette for the amazing job, but especially for being brave and humble by editing her work, after the release, after taking into consideration our tips and advices. I wish there were more author out there with such courage and care for what their readers have to say, and especially being open to accept that maybe, their initial approach in a particular scene was not the ideal one. IMO, in this specific case cutting and twerking a bit a scene, made a world of difference, because it completely changed the global view of the H.
So again, kudos to you, JJ! I look forward to read even more of your stories ( I'm a greedy bitch and I've read all of them, so I want more!)!!! ;)

Juliette Jones kindly asked me if I could read her new short story and I jumped right in after reading the blurb! Masterpiece is a quickie and hot telling of a sexy cowboy who has a secret hobby and a pretty art expert who has very-hot dreams about said western hero ;)
Sometimes dreams do come true.
If you are in the mood to read something short and still with a smutty and sweet feel to it, you should check this story out! Even though I kind of wanted more of Max and Elle together (because everything happened really fast and they were super-sweet-hot), I obviously enjoyed reading this!
This is what I’ve been looking for. Right here. All six feet, three inches of brooding genius cowboy hero.
And I plan on getting it.

Therefore my rating for Masterpiece is 3.5 STARS because I enjoyed the sexy-sweet times between these two but I really wanted to have more of them together and also a little bit more between the sex and the 'falling in love' part. Masterpiece was such a delicious read. I absolutely LOVED every moment. This one had me smiling BIG throughout the whole read except when it came to the love scenes which had me just about swooning.
Max is a rodeo star, he is just coming back after being injured 6 months ago from a bull throwing him and then stomping on him. He wants to prove he’s back and does so by riding a bull for a full 8 seconds. Afterwards all the buckle bunnies are vying for his attention. He usually takes one or two to bed after a winning ride but something in him has changed, he no longer wants to hook up with these woman throwing themselves at him, he wants to find the ONE.
Elle is an assistant art curator, she’s really good at finding new talent. Her boss has some good and bad news for her. The good news, she’s being sent to Bozeman Montana in order to get an artist to bring her artwork to her boss’s art gallery. The bad news is if she does not, she will be losing her job and if she does she will still lose it but she will have 3 months left before they let her go.
Lately Elle has been having erotic dreams about a tall dark haired cowboy so when she’s told that she is going to Montana, she’s hoping to maybe run into one.
Max is a VERY SEXY COWBOY! Just thinking about him is making me clench my thighs. I love how he changed from being a man whore to wanting to be with that special someone. He has a secret talent that only his brother and his brother’s girlfriend knows about.
Elle decides that she should open her own art studio and screw her boss. When Elle sees Max’s paintings she knows instantly that she can make him a fortune if he would let her show them in her art gallery.
What happens from here on is stuff made up of every woman’s erotic fantasies. These two SCORCHED the pages and left my panties a totally wet mess.
The ending was very good, giving us a look into their near future. My only complaint is that this story was so good, I wish it was a full length book.
Warning: this book contains insta-love, a smoking hot hero and some REALLY SCORCHING love scenes. If these things do not bother you and your wanting a quick sexy good read then I highly recommend it.

4 short, sweet and sexy stars

He noticed a change in him after the accident and it's throwing him off balance, he's supposed to want to ride and dominate the bulls and the women of Bozeman, so why does he suddenly want more. Elle Parker has the eye and now she's on a mission to find THE one; the one to give her the start she needs. They have what the other wants and it's time to make some compromises, realizing that dreams do actually come true.
Masterpiece is a cute sexy sweet read, giving you everything you need wrapped up in a pretty bow. It's a perfect light read, that entertains you enough to finish in one go. So if you're looking for an insta-lust, insta-love, with a hottie that knows how to ride, and a over-the-top cheesy HEA then this is the book for you. Perfect in-between read, especially to break up all the dark intense books out there.

First off, this review is for both versions of this story. What both versions, you may ask? Well, since I got an ARC from the author I read both, the old and the new slightly changed versions. I liked the new one better, because it didn't have one particular scene in it that did bother me a bit in the old version. Don't get me wrong, the story is good no matter in which version you read but I would recommend to safety-gang readers to read the new one.
As for the story itself, I enjoyed both main characters and how their story turned out. Yes, it's a short read but it's definitely an enjoyable one. I'm always happy to find a few funny parts in my books and this one had plenty.
People are walking around looking - again - like regular people. What's up with that?, I'm thinking. I might as well be in freaking upstate New York.
Max Cash's life was never the same after he got injured in the bull ring a few month ago. Now, he has one new talent, that he desperately tries to hide but that talent just may have gotten him the best damn thing he never knew he was missing in his almost perfect life.
I find myself mesmerized by those eyes.
Elle Parker or as I like to call her, the artistic talent seeker, has her sights on Bozeman's new young blood. And once she sees something she likes, she doesn't ever let it go. That, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly what makes her the real deal. She's an excelent art curator that has finally found her Masterpiece.

3.5 Rodeo Painting Stars!
This was my first read by Juliette Jones and I found it to be an enjoyable one. It is 100% erotic in nature and it was a novella type read that was obviously short with a quick and hot love story.
*I personally struggle with most novellas as it is hard for me to appreciate a love connection in such a short amount of time, therefore I am going to do my best to do a review with my personal issue aside!*
This is a story of a New York Gal and a Montana cowboy. One works in the fast lane of wealth and style and the other in the dangerous world of rodeo. Both seem to be searching for something more and both seem to have an idea of just what it is that they want. It is fate...or ART...that brings them together. A curator looking for an artist...a secret artist looking for a muse.
Max and Elle are instant...attraction...intrigue...lust. Caught up in want and in need, the art is just something that brings them together. Once the lines are crossed, the creation they make is more than either imagined...yet always wanted.
Overall both characters are highly likable and relatable. I will say that for being fairly "innocent" Miss Elle can take Max Cash for all he's worth. The heat is HOT and the intimacy pretty fabulous. I could have easy enjoyed 200 more pages of them discovering one another and making more of a story, but in just 95 pages, it is fairly predictable that the intimacy would bond them forever!

Had to read to see what the fuss was about. I definitely got the "safe" version from Amazon today (2/28).
It was ok. The MCs did not meet before 30%. That is too much build up for such a short book. But they were sweet together and it had a brief epilogue.

4.5 sexy and sweet stars
I would have absolutely been over the moon for this one if they had met before 40% of the very short story. Although it took that long I still liked their interactions a lot. Very insta love which is my favorite. I kinda wanted him to absolutely refuse to ever sell one painting of her. That's my perfect hero.. Possessive all the way. But it was still great.
I really didn't want it to end.
The next will be hidden because it's a book she's still working on and my dreams are that it could change.

Well this was a hot, sweet, sexy read; )I wish it was longer. Way too short! I did feel that we didn't get enough time with them. But I still enjoyed this . I would like to read more about them:) All I'm gonna say now is YEEHAW!!;)lol

Always used condoms:) There is a groupie in the beginning that tries to hook up with him, and at first he's thinking ok why not. but the more she talked to him the more irritated he got and told her he isn't interested. This was before he met h. Again this didn't bother me. heroine was definitely special. Heroine was a virgin but it didn't bother me!

The hero was likeable, i liked how he rejected ow after being celibate for months because he wanted the right one <3 :) The heroine dreams of the H before meeting him.I actually believed their insta-love, they fall in love only after hours of meeting each other. It was a good story line.
I just wish the H and h had met sooner, i wanted to read more about them and see their relationship grow :s I liked the hot scenes, i wish there were more lol, i'm greedy like that! I enjoyed the story, It's a quick, short read :)

Very pleasantly surprised by this novella. I appreciate the hunky man 6-pack abs on the cover. I have to say, I would have rather have an action pic of Max riding his bronco. Just sayin'
I read the newer version-since there's no real ow worries.
The plot progresses very rapidly to a very sensual little story. The build up was just perfect. Not much time, so this was a sexy romp at ragging bull speed. Dual first person POV.
Elle and Max have some chemistry. whew! I'm giving this 4.25 stars. Way better than Alexa Riley.
Hopefully J Jones is a real author & will expand her(their?) stories in the future.

The premise sounds like a bad joke but believe me, the only thing bad about Masterpiece was Max Cash’ mouth – in the best way possible. A star bull rider Max has always loved the rodeo circuit and its many perks but after an injury left him unable to ride for a few months he discovered a new skill. A skill he enjoys almost more than riding bulls and one he has kept secret.
Elle Parker is the quintessential New Yorker. She loves her gallery job but lately she’s been having steamy dreams about a mysterious cowboy with callused hands. When her job asks her to go out into the country and sign a new artist, she jumps at the opportunity with the cowboy still fresh on her mind. What she doesn’t bank on finding however, is Max and his secret talents.
This book was short but very hot. What else can you expect from a hard, stubborn cowboy and his filthy mouth? Exactly. This book was greatly entertaining and it had a lot of sweetness mixed in. I only wish this book was longer because I truly connected to these two quirky characters and would have loved to have them in my company for a little while longer.
If you’re looking for a fun and steamy short littleread, this one will be prefect.

And I really enjoyed it. I was very intrigued by the hero and his hidden talent. I liked how he wanted his life to change and wanted something more.
I do wish they had actually met a bit sooner, as the book was short, and the hero and heroine had a lot of chemistry. And I loved how the author wrote, you could really picture the hero bull riding, and the tension he was feeling, the atmosphere etc was jumping off the page.
But, if you want an enjoyable, hot read, that leaves you happy for the main characters, then this is perfect.

No way!! This book was waaaaay too short. My inner slut is screaming for more. :( *throws fit* *cries* *cries some more* Kidding aside, I think this was the first time I've read about a Rodeo hero and a heroine who's an art curator. The storyline is interesting and has a lot of potential although I wish I could get to know the MCs more.
I felt like Ms. Jones rushed Max and Elle's story and ended it rather too quickly without giving the readers a chance to savor their romance. Nonetheless, it was an okay read and kept me entertained throughout. Ms. Jone's compelling writing had me reading this book in one sitting. She knows how to deliver hot-as-fuck, fan-yourself love scenes with an alpha male I every sense of the word and the fact that she wrote a “safe” version of this book is admiring. You've got yourself a new fan, Ms. Jones. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this author from now on.

I felt this was headed off on a good start and was really getting into the story. However, I thought it was really rushed towards the end, like the author quickly needed to get her last thoughts in and speed things up. I was diggin' the book till about halfway because of this...

Juliette Jones has this uncanny ability to suck a reader into a story immediately. Her writing is addictive, her characters lovable, and her stories are steamy. Masterpiece is no exception. We get the point of view of both Max and Elle, which I love because we can be inside both of their heads. This is a quick read, but I felt this sense of attachment to the characters, like I knew them and I was rooting for them. I wanted them to find their happily ever after. And the love scenes...off the charts, panty melting hot! This book has exactly everything I want from a story---a gorgeous man, a smart woman, and undeniable attraction. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait for more of Juliette's love stories.

My first book by Juliette Jones and I liked it.
It's about Max, 26 and Elle, 23.
Max's a bull rider and it was his first ride after his accident six months ago that almost killed him.
Elle's an assistant curator and her boss sent her to Bozeman, Montana to sign in an artist (who's the girlfriend of Max's brother) or else she won't have a job the next month. She's a very good curator and one of her dreams is to have her own art gallery. So she went to Montana to meet the artist, Fleur and the hope to meet her cowboy dream man.
Max has a secret Only two knew about it. When Elle found out, she went to his place to talk to him about it and had a proposal but Max wanted something in return. She turned him down which was new to him because no one says no to him. It didn't take long for them to give in and it's wonderful and hot to read.
There's a nice epilogue and I want more. Like a few years after that.

So I was sent an ARC of the safe version of this and apparently I'm in the minority here because even being a safe read I just didn't love it. There was something about the hero, Max, that didn't work for me. He came off as a total jerk in the beginning and usually that doesn't bother me as long as they manage to redeem themselves but this one wasn't long enough for me to really fall in love with him. Maybe if it was longer?! Maybe if I wasn't in such a horrible reading slump?! I dunno, it just didn't quite live up to my expectations :/

Elle Parker is in Montana for an exhibit and to sign a new talent. Little did she know she was going to discover the biggest find of her life, both professionally and personally…
This is a short read but every page was a sizzling, delectable treat! Elle and Max instantly click and, even though things happen way too quickly, the pace is perfect. I have a soft spot for cowboys, it’s true. I don’t hide it. With examples like Max, I’m surprised we don’t all move to the west and find our own! He is sexy and stubborn and all things cranky and cuddle-able. Did I mention he is unbelievably sexy? Well, it’s worth mentioning again and again and again…
Elle is fun and matches him toe to toe in and out of the bedroom. She is stubborn but then again, she needs to be to ride out his very skillful, and toying, use of… toys.
The loving is over-the-top messy, surprisingly sweet, and definitely worth the price of admission. I wish this story had been much, much longer! ~ Diane, 4 stars

5 Short, Sexy Stars!!!!
I was graciously gifted a copy of this book and can I say, LOVED it:)
Every now and then I love to have what I call a "cleanser" book, you know that book that cleanses your mind after reading a really intense and angst filled book. In between those book hangover reads my mind is usually mush and this book was EXACTLY what I needed! I just love a book like this that reads easy, flows smoothly and quickly and yet still has a great storyline as well as characters and guess what, this book was IT! This short story was filled with a whole lot in such a short time but I totally was invested every step of the way! The writing was great and the storyline was executed perfectly for me!
This book was not only a quick read, it filled all of my book loving "senses". Great male and female leads, check, great storyline albeit very short, check, great hot sex, check....so what more could I have asked for. Was it an insta-love and insta-lust story, hell yes it was and it was done perfectly and just the right way for me!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I am not a total insta-love person when it comes to my books BUT I do find when it's done right, I enjoy them immensely!

I laughed myself silly about how quick everything happened between these two, but the sexy times were very hawt, and it was good for a quick satisfaction read.
