Best fanfiction ever. That’s all i have to say about it. I really loved the writing style and the different povs and the throwbacks and yes it was just perfect, you’ll enjoy it even if you’re not a larrie (and you’ll definitely become one)
Warning: This is classified as M/M One Direction fan fiction. (But you should give this one a try even if you're not in the fandom.)
If you are a Larrie though, this is one of best canon compliant fics I have read. This story is also known as the Idaho fic. And if you're on twitter or tumblr, you probably would have heard of this already. So.
This has the perfect balance of angst and flashbacks and fluff. Basically the way to my fangirl heart.
I guess my only complain is that I wish it was longer.

I am in love with this book. I really enjoyed the writing style and the way the story was written. I loved how the future and present chapters were slowly intertwined throughout the book and we slowly started to see the story unravel and understand how Harry and Louis got to where they are now. We also switch between Harry and Louis' POV all the time so it was really nice to see inside both of their heads and get a feel for what's happening.
This entire book felt bittersweet. You'd read a sad scene and feel hurt because of how awful the situation was, and then you'd read a past happy book and feel soft but also sad by realizing where they are in future chapters. This book is friends to lovers to exes to friends with benefits to lovers. It was very sad but also very cute. There was so much awkwardness and tension in this book that part it definitely stayed interesting. They were adorable and cute and awkward around each other and they both felt love towards each other but the communication between them sucked and they were scared to have it all go downhill again. I could feel a lot of what they were experiencing and it did hurt.
This book does have a happy ending, it did feel slightly cheesy and didn't leave me feeling complete, but I enjoyed it all the same and I liked the route this book went in. I never had a part where I was forcing myself to get through, it was all fun. I did take a week to finish this, but that was mostly because I was reading this in between moving into my college dorm and going through orientation and the drive up to college. It has been a busy couple of days and unfortunately, that did prevent me from enjoying this book to its full extent.
Overall, I found this book great and I would love to 100% reread it again. There is smut, and it's very angry smut and angsty and slightly uncomfortable, but it's okay overall. Harry and Louis here are both so strong and so soft and seeing their relationship slowly progress and turn into something great is so nice. The angst and the tension definitely makes this worth reading. Also the playlist that goes with this book, it definitely gets the mood going and it leads to a mental thought process outside of the written words in this book. I'd like to have this book printed out and on my shelf and I regret not having read it sooner. Every time someone talked about the "Idaho Cabin Fic" I'd imagine Harry in the forest, camping and stuff and it just gave me a vibe that leaned me towards not wanting to read it. However, I was pressured into it by my girlfriend in exchange for her reading Young and Beautiful, so I gave it a shot and I deeply love this book. I'll give it a couple of days before deciding if I want it printed or not but I did genuinely love it and I can't wait to reread it. I just genuinely enjoyed this book and I don't think my review does it justice; basically put, I loved this book so much and it's definitely a new fanfic favorite and I want to reread it at another time.
Quick summary for personal use: Harry and Louis aren't doing well but we don't know what happened, we just know that they use to be close and now they aren't. Harry has a cabin in Idaho and he invited all the boys to come. Louis decides to go with Niall to prove to himself and to Harry that he can. Niall cancels last minute and Louis ends up going alone. The entire trip is just Harry and Louis alone. It is awkward and there is a lot of tension. We slowly see that both of the boys still care for each other but they're scared; there is a lot of murky history. They use to be best friends and then they had a relationship. Their relationship was blooming until Louis got a beard, Eleanor. Harry grew jealous of her and they both grew tired of the lies and having to hide. Their lack of communication lead to them breaking up. They broke up, they didn't talk for years, and the present is them trying to reform a connection. Slowly they pick back up where they left off at 16/18 as grown adults and they try to re-heal their relationship. They start off with just sex, accidentally, then they continue a friends with benefits relationship while simultaneously trying to decide on wanting more. Or if they're ready to handle more as they are scared that they will ruin their relationship and break up to have their relationship end like it had last time. We see them have angry sex and soft sex and soft moments and angry moments and fight and cuddle and fall in love all over again until the end. They try to make it last without commitment, but that all goes down when they realize how long they've been there. Louis has to go home and they have to decide how they handle their relationship outside of their safe, comfortable Idaho cabin.
"He was never going to stop wanting him. Or loving him. They would never stop, him and Harry. And he didn't want them to. That was the truth. Truer than everything in this world, than the storm outside and the darkness too."
didn’t love it as much as everyone else. however literally i worship everything this writer does and it was still easy to appreciate the prose. not my favourite, definitely have enjoyed other works of theirs a lot more, still gorgeous.
