Army veteran Bailey Lennox usually enjoys her job as a bodyguard for Halvard Protection Services. When she's assigned to work with the famous movie star Everett Parker however, she's reluctant to play the part of Everett's girlfriend at his sister's wedding. In such close quarters, she must decide where to draw the line between their mutual attraction and her professional ethics.
~Where Desire Meets Destiny~ Sparks fly every time an alpha male clashes with a strong woman in paranormal, erotic, and contemporary romance.
Stella Hunter was born and raised in the South and makes Kentucky her current home. When not dealing with demanding kids (of the four-legged variety) or that crazy thing called life, she would happily spend all her time buried in books. She loves to write romance because she believes everyone is redeemable. Stella is the author of The Strong One, The Dom’s Game, and Rescuing the Bridesmaid.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. Bailey Lennox works as a bodyguard and she is good at her job. Her instincts are usually right. So when at the movie premier to protect megastar Everett Parker, she notices the threat and tackles Everett to save him. Everett is intrigued by Bailey and wants to get to know her better, he comes up with a plan for her to accompany him back home for his sisters wedding as his girlfriend. But he keeps the real reason a secret. With the attraction so strong between them both, will lines be crossed that can't be forgiven? This is a first for me from Stella Hunter and I can't wait for more to see how things turn out for Everett and Bailey.

I didn't realize when I started this book that this would be a series. In any event, I really enjoyed this book, in how the story was written and somewhat satisfied with the ending.
Bailey Lennox is a veteran turned private security bodyguard who has been through the wringer, both physically and emotionally. Everett Parker is a movie star who happens to benefit of Bailey's instincts and foils an attack on him.
Needing extra protection and wanting to do her a favor, Everett hires Bailey to pose as his girlfriend during his stay in his hometown for his sister's wedding. Bailey is reluctant because she is attracted to him and doesn't want to do anything to ruin her reputation as a professional bodyguard. She agrees after some of her conditions are met, but knows in her heart that his is going to be easier said than done.
I'm ready to read the next book to see how Bailey and Everett work to resolve their differences and blend their lives together.

Bailey is a retired military woman who works for a security firm. She happens to be on detail with America's favorite bad boy actor, Everett Parker, when she notices a man reaching into his coat pocket. Tackling Everett and saving his life in the process Bailey is just doing the job she loves. When she later gets a call from her boss about a special undercover assignment, Bailey knows this isn't going to go well. Everett likes what he sees in Bailey and wants her to accompany him to his small hometown, as his security detail, for his sister's wedding. Bailey reluctantly agrees. Trying to keep up the rouse of boyfriend & girlfriend, Bailey certainly has her work cut out for her with Everett. They have some major chemistry! Play acting is getting easier & easier as they begin to fall for each other. I found Bailey's character interesting, not often do we have a lead female being ex-military. She has some PTSD issues that are touched on in the story that I found interesting. Everett was a strong male lead and pushed Bay's boundaries to open herself up to love. I enjoyed the book, it was fast moving and easy to read.
Bailey was a solider and after returning from war has become a bodyguard. She’s plagued by nightmares of her time in Afghanistan and it’s caused her to have a wall around her heart. Bay is the only one who notices an attack on Everett Parker, famous movie star, and Everett decides to hire her as a personal bodyguard for his sister’s wedding. The only thing is, his family can’t know so Bailey must pose as his girlfriend while they’re around his family. Everett is honest about his attraction from the get-go but Bay is hesitant to cross that line for fear of ruining her career.
This is a quick, easy read with a great plotline. The only thing I didn’t much care for was the “other” love interest in the story, it was a bit odd. I feel like we needed a bit more background on that. I thought the story was too short but I was happy to see that this is just the beginning of Bailey and Everett’s story, I’m excited to read the next book!

This is the first book about playboy actor Everett Parker and bodyguard Bailey Lennox. It has a good storyline and the lead characters are interesting. Bailey in particular has many secrets, only some of which are revealed in this instalment. Her army career has ended due to injury, but she is still haunted by her experiences. She is not impressed by the billionaire star, which of course catches his interest.
I am keen to see what happens next, as these two have the kind of chemistry which is highly reactive and likely to explode!
Bailey, returned from Afghanistan, now a bodyguard with some pretty brutal memories and Everett, hot movie star with some haters, just wants to see his sister getting married with no fuss.
This book is just written fantastically, Bay's flashbacks broke my heart....and it's real, all this couldve happened, could be happening right now....and the author captured these moments so well.
I was willing Bay with the power of my mind to drop her walls...I love it when a book does that to me, that I can connect with the characters that much, like they are real and so likeable.
The ending....I had a smile on my face so big! And their story doesn't end here....
4.5 Stars I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads
I have to say that I absolutely LOVED the fact that our leading lady was a strong, independent woman with a military background. She had her softer moments, but they weren't gushy like some readers might be looking for, but I found them perfectly fitting for the woman she was.
Major kudos for pulling off a bodyguard turned lover story. Nice to see it turned the other way around for once (Female bodyguard).
I really enjoyed the story and can't wait to see where the next book in the series goes.
I will say that I was a little bit disappointed that we didn't get anywhere on the reason that Bailey and Parker came together, but other than that a great story.
Definitely one of the better romance novels featuring a love affair between a male celebrity and an average woman that I’ve read in a long time.
I think one of the main reasons I thoroughly enjoyed this novel was because the paparazzi are barely a blip to the story line. They can be such a predictable, and oftentimes nauseating, feature of most romances with a celebrity lead. Therefore, I personally found it to be unbelievably refreshing that the entire novel didn’t revolve around a quivering female who has difficulties adjusting to suddenly being thrown in the limelight.
Now let’s get down to business with the standout characters of the book. It’s rather easy to pick them out, because they are both the lead characters. Let’s start with Bailey. Oh…my…goodness. Such a powerhouse of a female lead, and an amazingly dynamic character. Her main strength is that she’s a tough woman who can undoubtedly take care of herself.
Interestingly enough, her main strength is also her biggest weakness. She feels that because she can look out for herself she doesn’t need anyone else in her life. Bailey withdraws from others because of her strong-willed independence, thereby creating a rather lonely life for herself. Combine this with her PTSD and survivor’s guilt from the Army, and you just want to learn more about who she is beneath her tough exterior.
And now for the celebrity of the novel, Everett Parker. I feel like we were only provided a brief glimpse of who Everett is beneath his charming celebrity persona. He places family above all else, and is intent to get to know Bailey…intimately.
Everett seems to have a boyish grin in line with that of Ryan Gosling, and can flirt like a pro. Oh me oh my! I sense that there is more to his story that we were only somewhat introduced to in this book. Hopefully more focus is placed on him in the next novel so that we can see what lies beneath the washboard abs and cocky grin.
When I read the synopsis for this book I was really excited to see where this story would go. Sadly IMO it didn't live up to my expectations. Bailey came across as a strong and independent woman which I like but she never gave into a softer side. She was very dominant in all situations and it was just to harsh and unappealing. As for Everett he was so boring. There was nothing exciting about him or the relationship between him and Bailey. This book had so much potential but I just wasn't feeling it. When things got bad for Bailey she turned into a whiney weak female. Instead of fighting for her job and moving on she just crumbled and moped around all day. What was going on with her relationship with her sister Lexie? Why bring it up if no conclusion was going to happen. Also I didn't get the relationship between Everett and Frank. Was it jealousy he was feeling. There really should have been some kind of explanation as to why he resented his brother. Otherwise it was just a statement with no facts to back it up. A question I had, why did Everett want a relationship with Bailey? There never really had any kind of conversation that wasn't about their job. They didn't try to get to know each other on a personal level except for sleeping together the one time. This book was more descriptive than it was conversational. Everett wanted a relationship with someone he didn't really know. Just someone that didn't want him for his fame and money. What a reason to build something on and make it last. I didn't like the fact that Bailey let her boss pretty much shit on her for doing her job and then after Everett cleared it up he was all gushing over her. I would have told him to take the job and shove it. On a positive note the writing is good. The story just didn't live up to it's potential.
Bailey is a bodyguard and Everett is an actor in need of protection and a fake girlfriend for his sister's wedding. Lots of things in this story made no sense to me. For starters, why would he need a fake girlfriend? His family isn't hounding him to settle down, they don't need to fool the paparazzi because hey didn't follow him to his little hometown. So Everett lies to the people he loves most for no reason. No active threats made on his life either, so why did he need a bodyguard while in his hometown. Bailey says they argue all the time and she hates him, I didn't see one argument and why did she hate him. Everette lusts after Bailey and makes unprofessional advances on her, then blames his behavior on her, he just can't control his hands around her. Pictures of them being cozy at the wedding are leaked to the press and Bailey's job is in jeopardy because no one wants a high profile bodyguard. It's never revealed who leaked the photos, but the problem is solved with more lying. Bailey was wishy washy with her feelings, she was stringing Mark, a sometimes fuck buddy, along. She didn't want a relationship with him but never made that clear. I was hoping for a kick ass heroine, and Bailey wasn't it. Everett wasn't a jerk but he wasn't anything special either.
This book had so much potential and it wasn’t a massive let down but we just feel there could have been way more.
We start off with Bailey Lennox who was in the army but she was shot in the leg so ow she is a body guard to high profile people, she loves her job and works hard and stays out of the lime light since her sisters antics to better herself using Bailey in the process.
Bailey is guarding a high profile actor who she saves his life and with that he then wants her to go to his sister’s wedding as his protection but pretend to be his boyfriend for the sake of his family not knowing that she is his protection.
After lots of tension and a media alert can Bailey and Everett resist there attraction?
Can Bailey put herself in the lime light again?
We liked the outline of the book it was well written it just lacked depth and emotion. We wanted to go on the journey with Bailey and Everett but it just didn’t do it for us.
This was the first book by Stella Hunter. I really enjoyed this book, the characters were interesting and the book was really well written.
Bailey "Bay" is a bodyguard with memories of her time in Afghanistan that haunt her. Bailey has been betrayed by those closest to her so finds it very difficult to let go and let others get close.
Everett, is a movie star, who wants to attend his little sister's wedding. After an attempt on his life he hires Bailey to pose as his fake girlfriend/bodyguard.
Sparks fly as the pair pose as a couple and there is some serious chemistry and drama that keeps you fully engaged with the story and enthralled with what's still to come.
I really enjoyed the ending of this book and look forward to the continuation of Bay and Everett's story.
This is the first thing I have read by Stella Hunter and I was really impressed! The two main characters were both complex. I never got bored with them and understood their drama. I thought the ending wrapped up a bit neater than it should have, but I was happy to see there's going to be a continuation of their story. I'm hoping that will address the concerns I forsee about their relationship. Based on how well this was written and how much I enjoyed this story, I feel confident it will. I'm excited to check out her other stories next!
I received this book in an exchange of an honest review. Bailey's life was not easy so far with everything she faced in the Army and then with her own family, which so she ended up distancing herself and went to live her life as bodyguard. When she accepts a job for the billionaire actor Everett Parker, things get worse before they get better, and sparks fly everywhere. I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to read the next.
Everett is a celebrity who needs a inconspicuous bodyguard for a family event. Bailey is a top security professional. Everett hires Bailey to pose as his girlfriend for his sisters wedding. Can they keep it professional or will feelings get involved. I can't wait to read the next installment.
