This has to be the most clumsily written book I have read in a very long time. The characters are well imagined but need a bit more flesh to make me care about them. There is too much detail in other areas, accounting minutiae explained, really? But the point that got me laughing was:

'Lee had an IQ that could have qualified him for the Menses Society.'

I only finished this book because I'm a bit stubborn and don't like to leave anything unfinished.

A very clever conspiracy tale.

A unique and unsettling history to the conspirators in this story makes for a particularly intriguing read.

The characters are many and varied and all have depth. All is not what it seems when it comes to the priest, Father Anthony, nor the strange young man, and it was indeed a fascinating discovery.

Action, tension and suspense combine with the unusual premise to create a riveting page-turner of a read that is not to be missed. A thoroughly absorbing start to a series that I will definitely be following.

Yet another fantastic read from this author who is now firmly cemented in my favourites list.

Highly recommended.
