Synclair Patrick is having a crap week. A drug dealer burned down her bar and her apartment above it, a gigolo tried to rob her and to top it all off, she gets panicked text messages from her barmaid, begging for her to save her. So ending up in Carson City, Nevada- in the hands of the man that broke her heart fifteen years ago is enough to make this Vegas chick start swinging.
Reece Hudson has his hands full. With a successful Veterinarian practice, an ex-wife that won’t go away, three brothers who always seem to be into something and a baby sister who still believes in fairytales, Reese is shocked when the woman he loved fifteen years ago falls into his arms, Literally! He never got over Synclair and now that he has her in his arms, he’s not letting go. But Synclair wants nothing to do with him. He knows Synclair feels the chemistry between them. It will take every dirty Hudson trick in the book, a little blackmail and his whole family getting involved, but Hudsons never give up on one of their own and Synclair is a Hudson, she just doesn’t know it yet.
There is nothing worse than reading a romance only to get to the end and have to set up an offering altar to all the gods in all the universes to please let these people part. Really, it is depressing when you are approaching that 90% mark on the ereader and a desperately hoping for a random toilet seat to strike one of the main characters in the head so that the other can actually HAVE an HEA.
This book just did not work as a second chance romance. The main male character should have been shunted off with the evil OW and the heroine should have gotten someone who actually believed in HER and was willing to demonstrate that.
The basic premise of the story is that the heroine reunites with the male who slept with her in college on a bet and got paid by the evil OW. The h went a bit ballistic on the OW and got kicked out of college as a condition to dropping the charges. Well guess what, the male doesn't get any smarter over the years and his interfering and obnoxious (and not in a good way) family just make things that much worse.
The evil OW manages to manipulate the male into dumping the heroine in a brutal way AGAIN and since the heroine is preggers by this point, she winds up taking the male back. He doesn't change his behavior, apologize for his many, many, MANY wrongs and he doesn't atone for his actions. He pouts and whines and the heroine just accepts that AND his obnoxious relatives because living in their dysfunction was better than what she came from.
It is so, so sad when a decent heroine gets torn down to the sewage sucking parasitic nematode level of the male she is paired with instead of getting a Hero who will build her up and live up to her expectations. I can't recommend this one because the while the heroine was wonderful, until she lost her mind and accepted the male back, the main male and his family should have been dropped off into a dark abyss and I regret sincerely the time I spent reading this.

This book was such a mistake. I began the sample provided by Amazon and the blurb was exciting. It showcased a tough a** hardcore, bat swinging heroine. She was the best thing and I couldn't get enough so I purchased the book but after 10 pages from what the sample initiated, things went downhill.
I wanted to be the one to take the bat to Reese's family jewel. He was such a neanderthal. Within 4 hrs of his promise not to touch her, he puts his paw on her like a horny bastard while trying to win her back. Fool, a relationship requires trust and this one lacked it. The hero didn't deserve her. She's been a fighter her whole life and for him to come in with his black credit card and bulky body to force her to stay put in his house is low. Neanderthal bastard! No sense of respect. The first thing on his mind is always sex! Take out the bling bling and youve got yourself a sex manipulator. And what do you know?! He's got 3 other brothers who like to manhandle women too. Just because they're gorgeous as f**k doesn't give them the right to lift any woman on their shoulder against their will. This is not the start of a healthy relationship. It grossed me out entirely.
Another huge complaint: it took the crazy lunatic 15 years to get the h back. Like what in the world have you been doing? Basically sitting on his a** and sharing the responsibility of taking care of his little sister with the rest of his capable 3 bros. With his wealth and resources, he could've spotted her a long time ago before graduate school even started. Instead they gotta wait 15 yes and supposedly she was the love of his life. Get out of here! Normal people don't openly share their feelings bluntly in reality.
Pretty much after I realized this book wasnt going to do it for me, I only paid attention to Syn and her dialogue. I love how the author wrote her to a certain degree. Too bad 15 yrs just seemed too long.
Hero and heroine met in college, he was a rich kid and she was a poor kid born on the wrong side of the tracks. So off course his friends thought it was a good idea to mess with her which resulted in a one night stand with the heroine virgin. The next morning she finds out about the bet and other stuff happens which makes her leave school. The hero goes on to marry one of his friends(bad marriage because of a pregnancy). A LOT of years later they find each other again and the hero and his family and the heroines family all work against her to match her with the hero again. I do understand why they would bully her into the relationship. She had a crappy start in life and this made her tough. After the hero she didnt even contemplate a new relationship or moving forward with her life. she was just standing there letting life pass her by, i kind of feel bad for her. Did not feel the love between the hero and heroine but yeah, it wouldnt be worse if they were together or apart. It was okey but not a wow book for me.

Loved the characters and the story. Had many editing/grammar/spelling errors.
So, this was a very fun, quick read. The beginning started out in a similar way to how the first book in the After series ended, but the story went a much different way, and the characters were totally different. I loved the characters though, I liked the way the story went, and I kinda want a Hudson boy of my very own now.
Loved the characters. Had me laughing and crying. Reece and his family are stubborn but loveable. Sinclair's just as stubborn and it makes for a very fun read. Can't wait for the next book.
This was a easy read. It was really good. Also finally a girl that doesn't take him back right away when she sees him again after a long while. She takes no crap. Also his family is great.
This is a good funny book. This book will make you, laugh and cry (good cry). It is worth reading. Can't wait to read the next book. Couldn't put the book down.
This was absolutely outstanding! I'm giving this a 4.5 star rating because this was just written too quickly for me. I read this in a matter of 2 hours and I'm still reeling for more of Synclair and Reece's story. Chontelle Brison is brilliant in her writing. There were minor errors every now and then, but overall this was an amazing story.
Synclair was an outstanding character. She had a tough upbringing since her mother was a drug addict. People made fun her, she never knew what family was and hardly ever a place to sleep, but through it all she pushed through. She is strong, smart, bad-ass and knows how to handle herself. Syn was strong in keeping her restraint when she could against Reece. I'm glad she was able to experience life with a better view. Amazing.
Reece was phenomenal. He was the typical kind of douchebag until he met Synclair, fell in love and then broke her heart. Fifteen years later, he has the chance to make things right and he definitely works hard to do so. Reece is smart, fit, knows how to please a woman and knows that he is and will forever be in love with Synclair. Reece is funny and he loves deeply. Awesome guy.
The romance was just too beautiful. I love that they have reunited after fifteen years and were able to "pick up" where they left off. I love how real their love was for one another. Their may have been a major hiccup in their relationship back in college, but when a second chance is thrown at them they take it. Reece and Syn were made for one another. He gave her love, family and a home. She gave him true, unconditional love. That ending was just too perfect!
I read Back To You by Chontelle Brison in a single night. I refused to go to sleep until it was finished even though I had work first thing the next morning. It was funny and entertaining and even a whole day later, it had me smiling when I thought about it. It was a whirl wind of emotion. The very opening chapter almost had me in tears. I automatically cared about Synclair from the off, which is very rare for me and most readers alike. Usually you're a few chapters in before the character has won your heart. But seeing Synclair's heart break over and over again in such a short space of time made all the difference and then seeing her independence and strength made me respect her. Don't get me wrong, she has some serious anger issues and she might be the most unlucky person on planet Earth but you can't help but like her.
The Hudson family were easy to love with all their quirky personalities. Those boys are seriously heavy handed and forceful, to the point of almost being ridiculous but it just makes them all so much more loveable. Reece Hudson is an alpha male like no other with all the over shoulder carrying. All the quotes I highlighted in my kindle app were his words to Sinclair. He was amazingly hot and romantic at the same time. When he said, "Fuck that, I'm not your mistake sweetheart, I'm your future." my heart raced.
Synclair and Reece's relationship was beautiful to witness; as it made me cry, smile, laugh and sigh. I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I adore romantic fiction as a general rule but this book was up there with some of my favourites in the genre. The book had a few more spelling and grammar errors than I'd usually be okay with, but on this occasion I couldn't care less because I loved the book so much.
If you like your romance novels with lots of juicy drama and angst and you love your male protagonists as alpha male as they come, and your heroines fiery with plenty of courage then this book is for you. There's more drama than a soup opera and the men often behave more like cavemen than gentlemen and Synclaire is anything but a damsel in distress.
