Sui Ishida (石田スイ, Ishida Sui), born December 28, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese manga artist In 2010 he won the Young Jump 113th Grand Prix award with Tokyo Ghoul (東京喰種, Tōkyō Kushu). In March 2011, the same oneshot was published in the 2nd Issue of Miracle Jump. And later in September 2011, Tokyo Ghoul started as a series in Weekly Young Jump 2011-41 Issue. In December 2011, he made another oneshot about Rize that was published in December 2011 in Miracle Jump 6th Issue, which was later collected in the 6th volume of Tokyo Ghoul. In 2013, he also started Tokyo Ghoul: Jack in the digital magazine Jump LIVE.
Sui Ishida is his penname; nobody knows his real name or what he looks like.
sui ishida said, ‘‘you want answers? to the hundreds of questions you have??? here, have all of them!!! AT THE SAME TIME!!!!! this won’t be remotely confusing or emotionally devastating at all!!!! you’ll be fine ^^’’
this volume answered almost all of my questions about :re…… but at what cost.
the most shocking of which was finally finding out what became of . oh how far we’ve come from the first volume of this series.
Te quiero Kaneki, te quiero Touka, te quiero Hinami. Los quiero a casi todos.
In the sequel series to Tokyo Ghoul, Haise Sasaki has been tasked with teaching his special squad of half-ghouls how to be outstanding Investigators, but this is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his subordinates and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. Will he and the members of his squad become heroes or monsters, taken out by the other squads in the Commission of Counter Ghoul...?!
While I am confused about exact details that went down in vol 6 I have a much better grasp in Tokyo Ghoul:re vol 7. Things unwound for me some in the middle of the volume (due to the art) but cohesified near the end with the most epic battle EVER (all readers of this series have been waiting for this moment)!! We get Haise's transformation from Tokyo Ghoul's Kaneki to Tokyo Ghoul:re's Haise. And its all about Arima!
I can tell there are so many layers and things not being said and hints to the past. I've always really liked Haise from the very beginning and that hasn't changed. In fact, I feel a little like Haise now that he is taking on more of his old Kaneki persona... I feel distant from the Qs and like the CCG has served its purpose... I couldn't shake Haise's reluctance to stay quiet like he has been, but at the same time he still feels the way he does toward Arima.
I really wish that the scenes outside of battle were a bit clearer. I get it that ghouls and investigators move fast so much so that it isn't clear what is happening in battle. My trouble with the art is that its not crystal clear when there is no battle going on. Still I think the entire volume was building to that epic shake down... and it didn't disappoint!! GAHHHH I can't imagine awakening like Haise has and realize that he has turned against his own kind...
Tokyo Ghoul:re is an epic sequel series to Sui Ishida's popular Tokyo Ghoul series... and it continues the story in grand fashion. Even die hard fans admit they can't tell always what is happening when battles are raging, but if you hang in there you'll get clues and hints and be able to piece it together... quite like real life, not everything in clear and we have to wait and see.

This is a multi-volume series and there may be references to the plot of those volumes... SO READ WITH CARE! Here is my review of 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

Please like this review if you enjoyed it! *bow* *bow* It helps me out a ton!!
I bloody loved this volume and I am SOOOOOOOOO excited for the rise of Ken Kaneki <3
This instalment was one hell of a wild ride - we learn more of Kaneki's background (particularly how he was named Kaise Sasaki and Arima's involvement with Sasaki's recruitment in the CCG), the "part" Hide played in Kaneki's recovery *shudder*, the "showdown" between Sen Takatsuki (aka Eto Yoshimura) and Nimura Furuta (aka Kichimura Washuu), the exploits between the Qs and CCG vs. Ayato Kirishima (aka The Rabbit)/Renji/Banjo and The Masks, the rescue of Hinami, the slight reconnection of Touka and Ken, and the abuse Mutsuki suffers at the hands of The Torso :'(
PLUS the ULTIMATE showdown between Kaneki and his 'father-like figure' Kisho Arima which is still to be played out until the end!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I can't wait to continue with this series <3

Welp that was a whirlwind of emotions. It jumped around a lot but this volume had a ton of action. However some things felt too jumbled and that’s why this isn’t a five stars for me.
It's kind of hard to write anything about it. Just when you think everything is about to finish, something new comes up and destroys all your predictions. I was mostly like "***, WHAT?!?" while trying not to cry. It was on of the best volums since it revealed some important parts of story. Arima's still vague. It really needs some explanation and flash backs cause now he is seen as just an unrealistic perfect warrior. I didn't think it'll get this much sad... Can't wait to find out more about the One-Eyed King and Sasaki's mind. I need to know what exactly happened after the Tsukiyama Family Extermination Operation and why was he doing all those things... Why he left Qs, etc.
Tokyo Ghoul is ramping up as this volume hits all the right beats.
Kankei has to make a decision. To help the ones he used to love and care for, or help his new friends. It seems like a simple choice but in reality it's a lot more complicated. He's been through hell, and now he has to decide if he's ready to let it all go. On top of that we have a great prison break action volume here with plenty of "holy shit" moments. Also, poor Misaki is going through the worst punishment ever right now.
This is a dark and fucked up volume. Plenty of horrible things happen to people we care about. What I enjoyed most were the flashbacks, really helped build emotion for this volume. The fights this time around are brutal and far more "screwed up" with slicing and dicing body parts. While the end gives hope, this is a hard volume to get through, but in the best possible way.
This is the strongest volume yet of RE. A 4.5 out of 5.
sui ishida really knows how to answer questions i've had since i started reading tokyo ghoul:re, while also teasing other things. i'm devastated for everyone.
This is not my usual review. I'm dividing it into two parts.
General: It was difficult to get back into the story because it's been 4 months since I read the previous volume. But when I refamiliarized with the story and the characters, it was GLORIOUS. Gruesome, gut-wrenching and touching. Sui Ishida has level up his fighting panels. They look amazing. I still remember how cringy they were in first volumes of Tokyo Ghoul. Also the dynamics between characters! I don't even know where to start. Complex, surprising and simply a pleasure to discover. Also I cried on several occasions. The volume ends on such an intense note! I'm itching to start volume right away, but it's pretty late already. I'm starting volume 8 tomorrow.
Chapter-by-chapter thoughts [Spoilers!]:
Ch 64-67 I didn't remember much from previous installments so just some vague mocking of myself in updates.
Ch 67 Soul Shift was amazing. Sasaki backstory on his first days at CCG! Arima saved him with books! As much as the word save can apply to a person who put you in jail. It's complicated. And I love it. The name Haise comes from to kanji characters. He chose one from word "coffee" and another from "world". I'm having feelings.
Ch 68 was awesome! Panels with flashbacks from Hide. Kaneki and Hinami!! Drowning in feelings.
Ch 71 he's their uncle!! I was literally crying at the panel of baby Touka. Heck you, Arima.
Ch 72 is precious! The scene between Touka and Hinami. Also Kaneki and Hinami. My heart
Ch 73 oh Mutsuki. TRIGGER WARNINGS for heavy misgendering in this chapter and I believe it applies to ch 63. The captor keeps referring to Mutsuki by wrong gender pronouns. Also abuse, violence and flashbacks about abusive father, domestic violence and slurs. It's as good time as any to say that Tokyo Ghoul has almost all the trigger warnings imaginable. If you have any hard-pass TWs, it's better to check them beforehand. The author doesn't shy away from anything.
Ch 75
Hide.. You know I'm so lonely without you.. Kaneki
Come on, stupid. Back then I was actually wishing that I could "live on with you", you know?
I am fine, why do you ask?
One day I'll write thoughtful review on all the fascinating dynamics and themes and topics, addressed here. Today is not the day. But I want to do it!
I've never come across a story like Tokyo Ghoul. It's extremely multi-layered and well-developed. Also it's lots of fun and feelings.

Whoo boy this was one heck of a plot! Eto's confession and implication that CCG is in cahoots with ghouls, and her celebrity position has led to the public turning against CCG, and ghoul sympathizers rising. Furuta reveals himself to be a double agent, and Eto uses this to inform Kaneki of the conspiracy within CCG and their association with an organization called 'V'. And while the CCG are preparing to raid Rushima to get to Aogiri Tree, Ayato and the Gas Masks are preparing to use the reduced mainland forces break into Cochlea. Kaneki stays back, as part of Arima's squad to guard Cochlea.
There were so many layers of character interactions in this volume! Urie berating Kaneki for the Eto thing, while agreeing to save Tooru, Kaneki thinking back on his early days in Cochlea as Haise, when Arima was the one to save him from madness and start to train him, Hide coming to Kaneki in his subconscious, Arima speaking to a ghoul while fighting; there were also hints of backstories for Rize, Furuta, and Tooru (give him a forking break!), and finally an explanation for WHY Hinami joined Aogiri tree (I was always confused why she would leave the Anteiku crowd). Kaneki's mental turmoil is the biggest emotional development in this arc, as he thinks over his life, his decisions, his motive for doing things, and the reasons for the people in his subconscious. The sprawling cast of characters practically requires a really good memory and diligent focus while reading, because small interactions and clues in past volumes suddenly make bigger impact in later ones.
Verdict: Another action-packed, yet emotionally intense volume.
