Shadowy Lights: Fear

Rate this book
Can they overcome her fears and stand together?

Lady Geela “Glee” Beaulieu had only ever loved one man. The perfect man. At least in her mind. He was her best friend and her only lover. She trusted him more then she trusted anyone else in the world. He was her world. Yet still she hesitated, her steps faltered. Her mother’s history weighs on her shoulder like an anvil does a ship.

Prince Andris Portè loves Glee. He always has but he became tired of fighting her fear. He watched as she struggled to forget the past and ignore those whose judgment should not matter. He walked away from her and found someone new. Yet when Glee walks into the room he only sees her. When she speaks he only hears her. And when the world comes crashing down on her. Andris wants to protect her.

Shadowy Lights

This was a Good story, flowed well, from many characters points of view. The editing and typos let the story down. If you can see past them, then this is a sweet story of how 2 people meant to be together, over come their fears and other people's issues!

Shadowy Lights: Fear is the fourth book in the Secrets, Lies, and Betrayal series.

Glee and Andris love each other but are they able to be strong enough to be together? This storyline is well written and flows nicely, with drama, another woman, personal issues to overcome, and fear of the past.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

Shadowy Lights : Fear ( Secrets, Lies and Betrayal Book 4)

No Spoiler Alerts . The story continues with two of the main characters of Glee and Andris. But, there are a few others that are involved especially in the beginning because of things that are not said, and because of things that are done that Lady Glee has not done herself, but people blame her for, or feel she will do. There are 4 main people definitely rooting for these two to be together besides them.
There are many plots against them being together. There love is strong, but can it hold the test that the nobles put them through? Especially after she is excused of poisoning someone?
Okay, one little spoiler alert ! Sorry!! That one slipped..
Anyways...sorry again :-)
You will have to read the book to see if they end up together !!

**This book is part of a series you must read all of them or the characters/plot will not make sense. Each book builds from the next book with different characters, but they are all coming together because of what happened in book 1. **

Fairy tale with a wicked warlord, instead of witch. I loved Glee and Andris, especially when they started fighting for their love.
I'm glad a bit of the story was tied to the other books, although there could have been more, I took what was there. Now, the queen had some secrets she was concerned that may kill her and the king, I had hoped to see more of that in book 5. But this was a very enjoyable read, the queen and Glee's mother perspective and words were so wonderful. I felt bad for the previous girl, but not enough to want a different ending.

Now this book is filled with some lies and secrets that will have you trying to figure out the what and who, keep reading, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent

I enjoyed this book, I actually love this series. Glee was a strong woman strong enough to be queen only she didn't know it until it was almost to late. Andre her best friend and lover was strong but also weak. I say he was weak because there was a part in this book where the expression if you love something set it free and if it comes back then its meant to be. Well Glee tried to be all noble and make a sacrifice for Andre. Instead of Andre fighting for there love he tried to find love in the arms of another. All I can say is read the book. It says book 4 but it can be read as a stand alone.

Another book from this author that I really enjoyed. Her work remains well written, the characters well developed and the plot flows seamlessly. It did leave me wondering how it will fit into the overall series, I'm looking forward to discovering it! The worlds created are wonderful, the most poetic of the series so far!

Interesting and entertaining read. It did leave me wondering how it will fit into the overall series. But I do recommend that you read all the books in the series or the characters/plot will not make any sense. Overall enjoyable read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in any way.

Soooo

This was short. U didn't include any of the others storylines like the first three. I was looking forward to updates....
So with that its felt like Glee and Andris story was not finished for real. And I guess the sister will get her own story...

This is book four of the Secrets, Lies and Betrayal series and the main character are Lady Geela ‘Glee’ Beaulieu and Prince Andris Porte. Glee and Andris managed to get away together for some eight years, to do their degree and then masters degree, before having to return to Petra and their lives as part of the Nobility and Royalty. Glee has known she is not accepted by the elven court, mainly due to her not being a pure blood and also her mother’s behaviour. She is the Queen’s assistant and has been raised almost as her daughter, given all the hints and tips to one day rule as Queen, next to Andris when he took over as the King. She has always loved Andris, but never felt that she would be accepted by the court and those other noble families, without causing a civil war! Whilst they were away, they were almost different people and Andris fell in love with her at last, but he didn’t put a ring on her finger before they returned. Once they were back, she went back into her old behaviours and pushing him away somewhat. He eventually broke up with her when she wouldn’t allow him to stand beside her as she faced the ruling court, instead determined to prove her own worth.
Now he is engaged to another woman, Sabrina, who has all the correct pedigree, but none of the character. She wants the status but cares little for the people, unlike Glee. Andris is busy planning his wedding to Sabrina, but he is beginning to realise how shallow Sabrina is and that he still loves Glee. She has to get over her fears of not being suitable for the nobility and being his queen. She can’t be around him whilst he is courting Sabrina, knowing how unsuitable Sabrina is to be queen and what she herself has lost. Once he marries Sabrina, she knows that she won’t be able to stay in the palace any longer. Maybe it will be time to let herself go and embrace her mother’s side of herself and go away on an adventure, like she does. Andris has to make a serious decision on what he truly wants and who he is really in love with! His mother plans to be away for an event, putting Glee in the position of accompanying Andris for an official event whilst his parents were away. Some of the nobility are adamant the royal family must remain pure and they see Glee as a serious threat to that and try to take action against her. This enables the two to finally realise what their love means and whether they could accept being together, no matter what others think and believe. A story of having self-doubt and realising your own worth, as well as a side story of another young woman who has suffered greatly and the man who loves her, which I hope will become its own story shortly. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Pros: Complex, diverse characters and realistic motivations. In-depth look at a relationship. Fae kingdom.

Cons: Mostly internal. Barely any action. Jagged feeling with the many short interludes. Too little information or description. Difficult to picture the environment. Very little magic with this magical place.

This is part of a long series, but I've only read 1 other book in that series. Most of the relevant storyline seems self-contained, but there are a few scenes that point to some dreadful fallout from a particular incident that's PROBABLY in one of those other books. Also, this story feels like a magnifying lens on ONE COUPLE at this one point in their relationship, with everything and body else almost non-existent, they get so little attention. While there are other characters and POVs in this story, they are ALWAYS about that one couple. If you haven't read anything else in this series, then your enjoyment of this book tests on how much you can like this ONE COUPLE.

When I read the teaser I was really excited. I am a big fan of mystical creature, so when saw its was the elven culture I was excited. It start off in today’s time in the country of PETA. Petra is ruled by King Olive and Queen Hanna they had a son Prince Andris. Prince Andris is madly in love Glee but Glees has to much baggage and it drives him into the arms of another....pretty go so far right?
Here lies the problem the author jumps around way too much and a lot of the scenes together are done in flashbacks. I never got a chance to connect to Andris and Glee because I felt I was on the outside looking in.

Book 4 in this series and another brilliant addition to it. I love how the author writes strong women but never at the detriment of strong men. This story is a slight odd ball in the series as it didn’t really seem to connect very well with the previous books. However, it’s a great read.

Well written story, it took me high and low with its twists and turns. I couldn’t have predicted. I loved the complexity of the characters.
