Baggage is defined "as the things, objects, circumstances or beliefs that get in the way. Our baggage is found in the realm of our emotions, mind, will, habits and experiences." (Damazio 31) According to Matthew 11:30 I can choose to carry Jesus’ easy yoke and His light burden or my heavy and burdensome trunk (Damazio 32). Instead of being loaded with negative stuff, Pastor Frank (32) encourages me to check my bag and make sure I am carrying "forgiveness, freedom, hope, faith, love, blessings, favor, honor, God’s word and the power of the Holy Spirit". Before I can do this, it is helpful to understand where all this baggage comes from.

According to Pastor Frank the way to have courage to you’re your baggage is the following,
1. “Don't limit the work of Jesus in your life” (72). You can limit Him by having the attitude of familiarity that expects nothing and doesn't believe (75, 76).
2. “Allow the Holy Spirit to open your baggage and expose the hidden things” (77). “If you resist, the Holy Spirit will use people and circumstances” (78).
3. “Have courage to open your baggage” (79).
4. “Have the faith to empty your baggage” (81).
First of all I can limit the work of Jesus by "trying to change without the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit (Damazio 71).
