Focus.
Dean Goldsmith is Indiana University’s star quarterback, and his dreams are about to come true. His undefeated season means he has a legitimate shot at the NFL. If he stays focused. Football comes first.

College senior, Grace Yeates, is determined to defy the odds. She is months away from graduating with a business degree, something no one thought she would be able to pull off. All she has to do is focus on her number one priority. Family comes first.

Distraction.
Dean has no time for distractions, but when a gorgeous, snarky, redheaded waitress refuses to tell him her name, he can’t seem to focus on anything else.

Grace knows she can’t let herself get caught up in a guy, particularly a man-whore like Dean, no matter how charming or sexy. She has two hearts to look out for now and no room for a Dean-sized distraction.

Complications.
Everyone in Dean’s life agrees that Grace is the kind of complication his career doesn’t need. Grace knows that Dean is the kind of risk her heart shouldn’t want.

But what if the last person you think you need, the one you shouldn’t want, becomes the one you can’t live without? Can their biggest distraction actually be the focus they were missing all along?

I loved it! Until Now is only my second book by Laura Ward and I loved both books. Both of them were beautiful, romantic and touching. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

Grace and Dean were incredible characters. Grace is sweet, determined, independent, loving and so strong. She works hard and she goes to college. She doesn’t have much time to just relax. Grace wasn’t looking for love when Dean noticed her. She knew all about Dean’s reputation, so she was hesitant to give him a chance. Dean will show her another side, a sweeter one. He is sporty, sweet, caring and determined. He loves playing football and he worked hard to go pro after graduating college. Dean doesn’t do commitment, because he only wants to focus on football. This slowly changes when he meets Grace. She’s special. I adored Grace and Dean together. I also adored Finn. He’s so cute, funny and kind. Dean is adorable with him.

“The strongest woman I knew needed something from me. Not football, not my family, not my friends, nothing had made me feel like more of a man.”

Do your hearts a favour and pick up a copy of this book because it is totally swoon worthy, A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E and sweet with a good dose of steam! Until Now left us grinning from ear to ear as we fell completely in love with this utterly charming, tender, witty and heart-warming story!

Until Now delivered so much that we love in a romance, and Laura Ward gave us a fave book boyfriend in the sexy, romantic, very cocky and swoooony Quarterback, Dean Goldsmith who met his match in the lovely, sensitive and resilient Grace Yeates, a young single Mum to Finn, the most delightful, funny and loveable little munchkin you could ever meet. Finn completely stole our hearts…well, all the characters in Until Now did to be honest.

“Do you love her? Or are you trying to save her?"

Is this story for you? Well, if you crave a beautifully crafted story and love your romance with a football theme. If you savour observing a strong, focused man fall to pieces over a beautiful girl who makes him work for her affections. If your heart skips a beat while witnessing and falling in love with the banter and adoration between an entertaining little 4 year old and a sexy hero…then grab this book. If you love banter between a guy and his mates and if you love the perfect balance of sport, romance and those awwww moments then we’re telling you now, you will be in romance heaven with Dean and Grace’s story in their words!

“Let me get to know you. Let me in.”

We were enamoured with every character in this story, with the secondary characters playing a huge role in Grace and Deans (and little Finn’s) love story. Dean’s family were fab! The Goldsmith D’s were so loving and fun. We want to gatecrash their Christmas this year! Dean’s mates, including the luscious Landon who we met in Not Yet all added to the overall feel and enjoyment of this story.

For Dean Goldsmith football is his priority. Whilst he likes to dabble in the ladies, it is football where his focus is centred. He’s about to complete college and it’s highly probably he’ll be drafted in the NFL. This guy is going places and he doesn’t need distractions, especially of the relationship variety. It’s football…football…football for this Dean!

Grace Yeates is a determined young lady who has had her share of pain and heartbreak in her past and is set on completing a degree in order to make a better life for her and the love of her life, her dear little boy, Finn. She too, needs no distractions, making sacrifices and dedicating everything she has to Finn, his well-being and his future.

We really felt the connection between Dean and Grace as nothing felt forced – the heat and chemistry between them sizzled and the bond between them all had our hearts drowning in happiness but it wasn’t all plain sailing for Dean and Grace, however the conflict, when it came was resolved in a manner that flowed perfectly and didn’t drag on for the sake of prolonging drama.

‘Grace was the most special person I had ever known. I felt like a beast had been unleashed inside my body. Like King Fucking Kong, I would trample anyone ever tried to hurt her again.’

Laura Ward writes from the heart and we can’t help but feel the love she has for her characters: it leaps off the pages and into our hearts as we give ourselves over to the warmth of her words. She left our hearts happy, acquainting us to characters who have left an indelible mark on us both. Another winner from this author and now…. we just need Jon and Daisy’s story…because we’re greedy like that! A definite recommend from us!

Spoilers ahead, 3 stars rounded up because of Finn

My 3rd single parent romance in 24 hours lol

So

Dean is the star quarterback of Indiana State university, basically the big man on campus. When he goes with his friend to a diner he meets Grace who's a waitress there, Dean is attracted to the beautiful redhead but none of his pick up lines or charm work as she wants nothing to do with him. He tries to get her attention until he realizes she's a mom. Dean's only focus should be football as he has a chance to go pro, his entire life football came first.....until he really decides to take a chance with Grace and her little superhero.

Grace was almost 18 when she fell pregnant with her son, his father who suffered from depression took his own life shortly after learning the news. To make matters worst his parents blame her and her parents want her to have an abortion. With no one to turn too Grace heads off to University determined to make a better life for herself and her unborn child. Now she's finally close to the finish line, she should be focused on studying, she should be focused on her goals....but Dean is persistent and she ginds herself wanting to take a chance on him.

*********
At one point in my reading life reformed manwhores were my catnip. I loved them, the flip from how they were to how they reacted to the one woman to bring them to their knees was my joy......but my tastes changed and the one major problem in this book for me were the first maybe 6 chapters where we experience how big of a manwhore the H was. It was disgusting and I hated his thoughts on the women he'd slept with. However when he went all in with the h he was truly wonderful and I adored him, if only I could go back and not read the beginning of this book I'd have definitely rated it higher......

This h reminded me of a younger version of Cher from Hold on who I loved. Grace was so strong and resilient and a wonderful mother to her son. I loved her so much

Finn was utter perfection, my most favorite character in this story, the little 4 year old stole my heart and renewed my love for kids in my romances

There was some drama as Dean's friend said some things that led to a separation and Dean backed off earlier in the book but all in all this was pretty good. I appreciated the fact that even though Dean had slept with so many OW we didn't have them being catty bitches to the h, as a matter of fact given his past this was actually pretty free of OW drama especially after they got together.

I didn't read book 1 as I'm on a single parent streak but it seems the four friends each get their stories told, I'll be back to read the rest of the guy's stories eventually. They all appear as secondary characters and we get the set up of the next book. Dean's family were all great additions here too.

My first read by this author but definitely not my last

***Thank you dear author for having Dean go pro, I'm sorry but I can't stand sports romances when the H doesn't go pro especially if they need the money

No cheating
H was a manwhore
He seemed to have still slept with OW after meeting the h but I'm not 100% sure of the timeline, she did see him sucking face with OW and knew of his reputation
Suicide is mentioned
Single parent h who'd not been with anyone since the death of her boyfriend

Wowza, I absolutely loved this book! It was everything I have come to expect from Ms. Ward and more. It gave me all the FEELS, and I couldn’t read it fast enough!

“Hey yourself, Tues—Marissa.” Christ that was close. When I had a semiregular rotation of girls that I saw, I referred to them by the day of the week we hooked up. Classy? Not a bit. Practical? As fuck.

Meet Dean, star football quarterback, playboy, dick. But deep down, he was a good man from an amazing family. He was just a college student living the dream. Until her.

Grace, aka Red, is a college student, hard worker and single mom. She is focused and determined on making a better life for her and her adorable son, Finn. She most definitely does not need a distraction in the form of the man-whore, Dean.

But Dean is determined and won’t give up until he knows her name and her. He even takes it to the stalking level.

“In actuality, this was the third time I had stalked this girl. Balls. I really was a creeper. I could only hope she wasn’t carrying mace or a stun gun.”

Watching Dean wear Grace down was so sweet. I absolutely loved the two of them together. And Finn—my poor heart—he was such a dear, I adored him!

“I don’t want you to have to be strong all by yourself anymore. I want to be strong together.”

This is definitely a story of strength, love, and hope. I cried so many times—mainly happy tears. It was heartwarming, emotional, steamy, funny, and swoonworthy. I simply couldn’t get enough.

The chemistry between Dean and Grace was sizzling, and there was no denying the connection all three had with each other. I loved Dean’s family, and I especially loved seeing Amy, as well as Landon and Emma again. I cannot wait to read Jon and Daisy’s story! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

~~~
You need to read this book! Seriously. It’s a standalone, has a great plot, and the characters are awesome. What more do you need?
Dean is looking to make it to the NFL, and with this being his senior year, he is more focused than ever. He has his eyes on the prize, and his coach and teammates are willing to help him stay on track.
Grace is a single mom with the most adorable little son. She is living in the family housing on campus while working and earning her degree. She's determined to make her son’s life as good as it can possibly be.
When these two unlikely people meet, you can help but be their personal cheerleaders and root for them every step of the way. They seemed very comfortable, and you can tell the author loved writing them. The dialogue flowed well, and they just clicked. I am not saying everything was sunshine and rainbows, but even during the “cloudy” times, these two had a way of gravitating to each other.
This is also not your typical boy-meets-girl love story. There are real hurdles for these two to overcome for them to be together. And the fact that they are willing to put in the effort and make things happen shows just how much they really do care for each other.
While their relationship is, at times, very PG-13, there is some definite heat and tension that flows from the pages. Because Grace has a son, she is not willing to jump into bed with Dean right away, but that doesn’t mean there is no chemistry or sparks. There is! ~ Devlynn, 4.5 stars
I absolutely loved this story!!! Dean and Grace's road to happiness was a tough one but it was worth the ride. Actually, Dean had it hella easy. It was Grace and her strength I admired most. She had a shit hand dealt to her but her determination was inspiring. I was so glad she had Dean in her life though. He made me swoon and tear up in some parts. He was so good with 'Just Finn' and his heart was made of gold, which makes sense since he's a 'Gold'smith. Haha. How clever, Mrs. Ward. Well done with his character. He came a long way from being a sexy football playa with a rep, all puns intended, when we first met him in Not Yet to becoming a man our heroine really needed in Until Now . I enjoyed every bit of this story. I also loved seeing Landon and Emma again. And of course the whole Goldsmith clan were awesome. I can't wait for more by Ward in the future.
Another solid winner for me!! Yay!
Wow, this one was pretty emotional. Girl had a bad past, like WAY more than a lot of people have been through. She was strong though and honest, I think Grace has become one of my favorite female characters.
Dean did a total 180, I couldn't believe he went from playboy ways, to boyfriend material and kid friendly, his character was VERY strong and he matched Grace well.
Finn was an awesome 4 year old little boy and had enough spunk to give us some good laughs and tender hearted moments.
All together this book was a 4 star read. Well written.
Cute sports-related romance. A bit different in its storyline from most others. Still the antics of jocks and college life. There was a realistic "surprise" to this one -- one I enjoyed reading.
Strong female lead that I truly loved and admired.
5 STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH!
Laura Ward writes some of the most emotional books I have ever read. By emotional, I don't mean you will be suffering from the ugly cry, but you will feel, deep down to your soul, every single word in this magnificent book. I will read anything Laura writes, and when I received my review copy, I realized I never even read the blurb. So I went into this book completely blind.
I want to keep you completely in the dark, so I am going to tell you NOTHING! Get this book, and READ IT! Curl up under the blankets and just lose yourself in this gorgeous story. I sat in my car, and read this on a dying phone, while waiting for my son to get out of basketball. I could not put it down. I was so immersed in these characters, I just couldn't walk away. Laura's writing is exceptional. Each character is thoroughly developed, from the leads, to the minor players. You feel like you are hanging out with your friends, and you just want to stay for awhile. Dean, while I wasn't so sure I was going to root for him, will blow you away. When Grace made the boy who's always had it easy, work for just her name, I knew this book was going to be something special, and it was even more. It was everything! In an over-saturated market, Laura Ward is a bright, shining, unique star, and I will always need more.
Can I have Jon and Daisy's story now please?
Unfortunately I DNF this book. The characters were a little young for me and the romance was it what it could have been. This is most definitely a personal preference book and the young love was too cliché and fast for me.. The main character having a child and then letting this boy into her life so freely (when she admits that she's sent been with anyone in 5 years because they aren't allowed to be around her son) was a bit like an inst-love. All of this is personal opinion and I wish I could have loved this book like others did.
🎉🎉🎉. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I frigging loved this book. My first read of a Laura Ward book, I know, I skipped book one in series by mistake. This won't be my last book by her.
Dean Goldsmith is a player, the star QB of the football team at Indiana University and as big of a star as he is, he is a bigger man whore, he calls his regular girls by the day he screw them, Tuesday, Friday, you get my jist. Then at a diner, he see the gorgeous Grace Yeates, who wont even give him her name. He tries again and again. He even follows her and is shocked when he learns her secret.
Grace can't go for a guy like Dean, she has to graduate. She is set on three things in life. Study hard and graduate, work hard and make as much money as she can, and the most important spend time with and love her son, Finn. Everything she does she does for him. Cut off from by her family, she is alone except for the help and love of her boss.
It was great watching Dean grow up and mature. He was a silver spoon type. Loving parents, a big family, support, the star etc. Grace was a lone with Finn and she was smart, witty, strong, she is what a heroine is in books and in life. This book was outstanding.
A MUST READ, 100% must read recommendation by me! To you!
I am trying to listen to books I already have, and fit them into my challenge. I needed a book that starts with a U... so this is it..
I kinda liked it. I was a little over the "DUDE" and the narrator does the male voice and it sounds like a frat boy its just ... no.. Sigh
I did like how this college boy kind of grows up.
***3.5-4 Stars***
Recieved an arc through Blushing Babes are Up All Night Book Blog in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read of the Not Yet series and my first book by Laura Ward. I was thoroughly impressed. It reads perfectly fine as a standalone, so if you haven't read Not Yet, there is no problem following the story line.
Focus.
Dean focuses on football.
Grace on graduation.
Distraction.
Dean gets distracted by Grace.
Grace gets distracted by Dean.
Complications.
Of course these happen... with a nice twist.
Laura definitely has talent, and I will probably read more of her books. The story was fast paced and could easily make you smile. My biggest issue with this story is the fact that Grace had always been so headstrong and independent, but yet I felt she fell hard, and too easily for Dean in someone in her situation. I thought it almost contradicted her character. That being said, I thought the book was too fast paced at the end. Without spoiling anything, again, I feel someone in Grace's position would definitely take more time with her heart. Not that Dean isn't swoon-worthy, he most definitely is.
I give this a 3.5-4 stars. A good, fast read.
My goodness, I loved this book. I actually hate that I waited this long to read it. Knowing that it's been sitting on my iPad for a couple months now, just waiting for me to read it, makes me a little sad. Laura's quickly become one of my favorite authors and Until Now lived up to all of my expectations, after enjoying Not Yet as much as I did.
Until Now was basically made of feels. The Dean in this book isn't the one I knew in the first book. I mean, don't get me wrong, he's a total manwhore before he meets Grace. And that is what it is. I don't have to watch it or think about it. :) Once he meets Grace – and she totally blows him off – he starts to change. She got under his skin in the best way possible and, while it was probably a lot to do with the fact that she didn't fall at his feet initially, it became a lot more than that.. and didn't take long to happen either. Y'all know I have a total thing for when the manwhore goes all in for the girl, when no one else even catches his eye. Dean became all kinds of swoony and thoughtful and I had quite the crush on him while I was reading.
Grace is one of my new favorite book leading ladies. I loved her strength and how she's overcome some really bad situations to get to where she is today. I found it easy to root for her. (And her with Dean, of course. Once I realized he was looking for more than one night with her, anyhow.) And now, to be slightly spoilery, she was a great mom. She'd built a good life for Finn – with no one else's help. I totally understood why she was leery of letting Dean in. But, she didn't need to be. He was there for the right reasons. The little unit the three of them had was beyond charming and caused me to have plenty of feels.
Where the first book in this series had an abundance of angst – not that it was a bad thing – this one didn't. I mean, yeah, there were moments. But the only thing keeping Dean and Grace apart was her stubbornness. (Again, NOT a bad thing. I got her. She was protecting her son and her heart.) I mean, yeah, there was that small issue of Dean graduating and leaving to play in the NFL, but that's something that could be overcome if they both wanted it. I loved both of these characters – as well as some of the secondary characters – and enjoyed this book so much I read it cover to cover in one sitting. Feels for days, super sexy times and lots of smiles. Can't ask for much more!
I'm totally hooked on this series and the world that Laura's built with these fantastic characters. I'm already itching to get my hands on Someday Soon. Daisy and Jon?! Yes, please! And now that I'm finally caught up on the series, I'm fully prepared to chuck all the other books aside as soon as Someday Soon is in my possession.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
FAVORITE QUOTES
My life was real fucking good. Damn near perfection. I had no room for complications or distractions. Football first.
"I don't feel sorry for you, Red. But I feel... a lot."
There were no more words tonight. We had officially left the land of simple and were planted firmly in the world of complicated. Funny thing was, I wouldn't have it any other way.
"Until now. Until me. I'm going to keep on taking care of you because nobody has ever deserved it more than you."
I had no idea when this blurb grabbing that this was a book 2… so no worries if you have not read book 1.. because I read this book stand alone and loved it!
Until Now sucked me in from the opening pages; though it was not fun to be an adult sick with strep this book made my time on the couch enjoyable!
Until Now is the story of Dean Goldsmith Indiana University’s star quarterback and College senior, Grace Yeates. The blurb says Grace is determined to defy the odds and man is she ever!
I am going to try to write this blurb without a spoiler but I fear that this book may miss a huge target audience… so I will just say Finn is so well done, this little boy stole my heart. He was not just a critical part of the plot, he was masterful woven into the story to move it forward and it warmed my heart!
The banter at the beginning of this book was epic! The cocky football star working so hard to get Grace’s attention had me grinning from ear to ear!
I was captivated baring witness to Dean and Grace’s attraction. Dean was so tender, so kind and so out of his element with these new set of feelings. I adored that he embraced them and pursued what he wanted, and he wants Grace, there is never any question about that!
Dean wanting to examine why he wants Grace, Dean being clear he is attracted to Grace and was not on some hero complex trying to save her, Dean moving at Grace’s pace all made me love him even more!
Note when these two finally cave to their attraction this book heats up, when these two are finally able to take this all the way this book get hot and laced with emotion as the delayed gratification makes for two people fully vested!
As this story progressed both Dean and Grace’s families make for very memorable scenes; Dean’s siblings had me laughing out loud (which was tough when you have a bad cough but was still so worth it).
Oh and Grace has another sort of extended family and the story here will break your heart. So hats off to Ms Ward for the wide range of emotions she evokes from the reader!
I can’t wait to read Someday Soon as Jon was such a wonderful character, he opened his heart and shared his pain with the hope of helping Grace (and Finn), though that advice was misguided his heart was so in the right place!
Oh and I am super excited to witness Dean’s reaction to Jon’s love interest! (nope not telling read the book)
Dean Goldsmith was one of my favorite characters in Not Yet, and I was super excited to be offered an ARC of his story. After reading Not Yet and Past Heaven, two of my favorite books that are go to recommendations when friends ask me for something to read, I just knew that I would not be disappointed with Laura Ward's next novel and boy was I right! This book was a 5++ star read for me and I highly recommend the Until Now Series to everyone!
Grace is bound and determined to finish her college degree, something she didn't think was possible for her at one point and now she is so incredibly close to achieving. When the college playboy football player walks into the diner where she works and tries to get her name and number, she does not want to be his next conquest, she has to much on the line to risk it all for a pretty face and a smoking hot body. The fiesty attitude that is Grace Yeates is one that lured me in and made me fall in love with her character almost instantly and I can guarantee you will too.
Although the reader saw Dean grow into a person that he could be proud to look in the mirror and see in Not Yet, he still had some growing up to do. Making his one and only focus the NFL Draft and playing professional football, he had no time for relationships, even thought the redhead from the diner wasn't far from his thoughts from the moment they met.
What happens next with these two will pull you in like no other story can and have you on the edge of your seat waiting with anticipation to see how it all plays out in the end. The plethora of emotions that surge through while reading will have you laughing, crying and swooning as you turn (or swipe) to each new page. This book is worth every penny and so much more! I can guarantee that you will love it as much as I did! DO NOT miss out on this amazing series and the amazing author who wrote it! I am sure glad that I took the chance with her first book and I cannot wait for more.
If you loved Not Yet, the first book in this interconnected stand-alone series, you’ll absolutely love Until Now. If you haven’t read Not Yet yet, and started with Until Now, you’ll definitely want to read Not Yet as soon as you finish this one.
I loved Until Now! The first time we met Dean in book 1, we immediately knew he’s some kind of arrogant jock, but nothing could have hinted me at what to expect in his book. There’s something special about tough guys who have a heart of gold. And Dean surely lets his light shine this time around. He was always giving Landon a hard time in Not Yet, laughing with the fact he could so easily change the course of his life for a girl. But he hadn’t met Grace yet… Until Now…
I loved Grace. She’s such a strong and independent woman despite what she had been through and the life she’s living now. I applauded her for not giving in to Dean so easily. But when Dean gets a firm no thrown at him, he doesn’t want to back off and let the red-haired girl go.
Without giving anything away, I can tell you that what follows is bittersweet.
The only downside at finishing a book you loved so much is that it’s always over too soon. But I’m excited to know that there will be two more books in this series so we will see Dean and Grace again, as well as Landon & Emma. The author put some hints in Until Now as for what we can expect next. And I’m more than ready to read Jon’s story, as well as Ricky’s.
I have now read this book twice. I loved it the first time, and loved it even more the second. At 3% into the book, Dean, the hero said "Tied down to one girl? That would never happen to me." At 7% in the heroine, Grace said "I have no need or desire to get close to a guy." Right then I said to myself "Let the games begin!" And I was not disappointed.
This book was my second read in the Not Yet Series. For the second time I was impressed that the author didn't just serve up a fun romance but also dealt with issues that can complicate life and certainly new relationships. In this book Grace is a single mom, working full time and going to school full time. She has no outside help except for a loving employer. There were a couple of moments during the story that I was totally exhausted just reading about her dealing with her life. Dean, on the other hand, came from a hardworking but loving family that supported and encouraged him. Watching Dean grow as he sees someone he is learning to care about struggle to be strong, is part of wonder of this book.
I recommend this book and this author and look forward to continuing to read the following books in the series.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book by Laura Ward and I can honestly say I was completely blown away.I felt connected to these characters and went on an emotional roller coaster with them throughout the whole story. I love Dean's determination to win Grace over and I loved Grace's independence. I absolutely loved this story and would highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Super sweet, totally safe and a bit predictable. But I enjoyed it a lot!
Fans of low angst, no OW drama who loves a reformed manwhore who falls head over heels for a single mom and her five year old cutie pie son! This one is for YOU!!
A poignant story of empowerment, Grace overcomes the trials and tribulations of a teenage pregnancy, knowing the father of her baby committed suicide, a struggling senior in college, attending full-time classes, holding down a job and raising her young son ‘Just Finn’, on her own for the past four years.
Dean does not leave the reader with the best first impressions, he’s the sexy collage quarterback heading for the draft, an overly confident womaniser, about to go pro, attending a big 10 university. He meets Grace at the diner and makes his classic advances, unperturbed by his ploys, she rebuffs him. Intrigued that she’s uninterested, he just can't seem to stay away and none of his ‘distractions’ are doing it for him.
Each and every time she sees him, he’s surrounded by his harem of adoring groupies in a lip clincher or them virtually throwing themselves at him. In his head they’re identified by the days of the week.
Doing his level best to garner Grace’s name and her attention. As a college senior Grace has had it difficult without any support. They’re virtually on their own, without the unconditional support of the diner owner Sophie, as she nurtures the two by making certain they eat.
Grace is navigating life, Dean has a great family that he's immensely close to, whereas Grace has no one. Life comes easily to Dean, what girl (s) to take to his bed. Grace has to struggle for everything she has... they get there through Dean’s dogmatic perseverance, until Jon visits Grace at the diner. With the draft approaching, he sees Grace and her son becoming an unwanted distraction. Despite his good intentions, he shouldn’t have projected his insecurities onto Grace, she had enough of her own.
Undeterred by her parents insistence that she end her pregnancy, years later her mother writes her a letter in an effort to breach their shattered relationship. The first step towards forgiving and fixing the most painful relationship of her life. She couldn’t help thinking that by opening her heart to Dean’s love, she paved the way to easing her pain, making room for newer, happier memories. Finn’s paternal grandparents when offered the opportunity to be a part of his life, declined.
Dean evolved from a self-serving cad, ego driven jock to a respectful, responsible man worthy of Grace and her son.
Despite my not being this writer’s target audience, I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the feelings developing between these two, and the blind acceptance of Dean’s family.
Until Now was a collage romance that I was absolutely blown away by because once I started reading this story I could not put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen and see what was going to happen to these characters. This was an incredible storyline and touching story about love between two people who are complete opposites.
Grace hasn’t had an easy life but that doesn’t stop her from being a kind and caring person to those around her. She was. A strong female character that did whatever she had to do to look after her small family. I really loved the way that she made Dean work for a relationship with her because she deserved to be with a good guy.
Dean was the sexy collage football star that was heading to the big leagues. He was a really caring and generous characters that acted tough but was a really good guy. I lived the way that he treated Grace and the people she cared about.
Both Grace and Dean are in collage and both can’t have any distractions form their end goal. But that was until they met each other and the connection between them was immediate.
I love a good collage romance story, and this covered everything I love about these storylines. The characters were all great and the author did a fantastic job with the writing of this story. I really loved this story and cannot wait to read more of this series.
3:5 stars for this lovely little read!
I enjoyed the pace of Grace and Dean's story!
There wasn't any other girl drama which is rare in a romance but a welcome reprieve!
It was believable and I have to doubt about these two's happily ever after!
Until Now by Laura Ward is a beautifully written story. This is one book where I'm having a really hard time finding the words to talk about it. It is buried so deep in my heart that I know I will carry it with me for a very long time. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I whole heartedly recommend reading the first book, Not Yet (another 5 star read).
Dean is the star quarterback in college. He is being scouted by the NFL. He loves the path his life is on: football, parties, and girls. A lot of girls. He doesn't know what he is missing until one fiery redhead denies him her name. Grace doesn’t have time for boys. She is in her last year of college and she can't afford to be distracted. She is a single mom working her way towards a better life. However, Grace has gotten under Dean’s skin and he is determined to get to know her.
I absolutely fell in love with Dean. He is such a great character - just what Grace needed. He was patient, gentle, and so sweet with her. I felt the fall right along with the two characters. Grace was a strong character in her own right. There were past issues that had a major impact on her, but she learns how to hurdle them.
This talented author knows how to spin a beautiful, heart wrenching story. By the time I finished the first chapter I was hooked. I devoured every word. Every emotion became my own. I laughed. I cried. By the end, my heart had been crushed and stitched back together. I shut down my Kindle with a contented sigh and a bed full of tissues.
When the QB of your Big Ten, undefeated football team pays attention to you, are you supposed to:
a. fall at his feet and beg for his time
b. grind on his lap and make his day
c. squeal with uncontrolled desire and stare at him with your mouth on the floor
d. all of the above
I think that Grace must have missed this question on the final. Not only did she do NONE of the above, but she wouldn't even tell him her name. Take that cocky football player!
However, it seems as though the undefeated QB has a bit of a stubborn streak of his own. Not to be deterred by her lack of fawning, Dean continues to try and find out the gorgeous, scowling waitress' name. He does seem to take it too far though, when he starts following her.
Confronting Grace was not his intention but he couldn't keep his foot out of his mouth and more than he can get the tenacious redhead out of his mind. She floats through his mind all the time and it seems like the only way to change that is to know more about her.
But Dean's plan doesn't seem to be working the way he thought. He is investing more time and feeling into Grace than he thought.
Two people with different agendas trying to make it through the semester without distraction, find the ultimate distraction in each other. But will they be enough, or too much for each other?
Emotions weren't supposed to be involved...until now. They had bigger priorities...until now. Each one thought they were fine...until now.
Until Now is not a typical love story; it is so much more than that. This book is the emotional journey of Dean and Grace. Dean has one focus, to finish his last year of college and get into the NFL. He doesn’t have time for distractions. Grace is also focused on getting her degree and has no room in her life for anyone that might stand in her way.
Dean seems to have it all; he has his future planned out, his buddies and can have any girl he wants. Then he meets the feisty waitress that refuses to give him her name ( btw this is when I knew I was going to love this girl). Grace also has her future mapped out and she doesn’t have time for this playboy, football star, and his games. What will happen when they realize what they thought were distractions could actually be the focus they need to succeed?
I loved reading this story; it was an emotional journey for these characters. I loved the characters; from minor to leads they are beautifully written and well developed. I felt like they were my friends and I couldn’t wait to hang out with them again. I literally couldn’t put this book down. I loved watching Dean transform into more than just a jock. He was so caring and giving to his friends and family. It was a pleasant surprise. Grace is focused, beautiful feisty redhead that any girl would love to have as a best friend. I have fallen in love with these characters and cannot wait for Jon and Daisy’s story.
I loved this beautiful, sweet romance! I couldn’t put it down once I’d started reading – 5 well earned stars!
Dean’s dream is to play for the NFL, he’s worked his butt off since he was a teen to get where he is today – college and about to graduate early so that he can be part of the NFL draft. Dean’s focus is on football and he won’t let anything get in his way, he’s always been a player sleeping with any woman who comes his way but when he lays eyes on Grace that all ends. Grace “Red” Yeates has survived a lot in her past and she’s far too busy dealing with everything life has thrown her way to deal with the playboy that is Dean Goldsmith. Grace won’t even give Dean her name at first but he’s decided not to give up so easily and when he discovers her family “secret” he’s in awe, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting to make Grace his.
I absolutely loved this story, I read it one sitting because I just couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. It’s fast paced, steamy at times, and will have you crying at others – this one has it all and I loved it. I’m really hoping it’s Deans best friend, Jon’s story next… I had no idea this was a series and I’m going to go back and read book one but this is definitely able to be read as a stand-alone. I was sad to see it end and can’t wait for the next in the series!
