Demon is the third instalment of the Kassidy Bell series, following Drug and Dwell. What begun as a small group of young, healthy volunteers taking part in a drugs test (VA20) has now become a full-on psychological and paranormal adventure of terror and horror; as the survivors of the group try to head towards the sister company of Cruor Pharma they hope they will meet with Dr. Langstone, a demon himself but one who chose to leave the original experiment due to differences of opinion.

The group hope that he may have the answer to prevent the VA20 from coursing through their veins and from them turning into demons themselves! In the meantime they are being chased by the police, demons and ‘cleaners’ who are quite excited to take over their body, and it’s also possible that demon ‘Doshia’ is possibly travelling amongst them too. But which one of them, if any, has Doshia been lurking in?

Placing doubts in Kassidy’s mind, Raven shares her suspicions with Kassidy in regard to Max and Jude. But, Doshia can’t be in both. I find Raven to be quite irritating and constantly on Kassidy’s back, pointing out everything she finds odd with Jude or Max. This makes you wonder if she is in fact Doshia and trying to throw Kassidy off the scent. However, she could also have a point due to the behaviour of the others at times. I love the to-ing and fro-ing to keep the reader on their toes.

Despite Dr. Ben Fletcher having the demon Quint within him, both seem to be protective of Kassidy, even if she fears him at times. The electricity between these two characters is powerful, and I can’t help but be attracted to Ben, just as Kassidy is, regardless of his attentions! However, Kassidy’s friends are quite peeved when she defends him a little. From their point of view he has a demon inside of him, and he was the one to inject them with VA20! Why Kassidy listens to him they don’t know and this causes tensions between the group.

I feel the author displays a great deal of empathy towards Ben from Kassidy’s point of view, despite how the other characters feel about him. This not only makes you feel more kindly towards him and understand what he lives with on a daily basis, with Quint always ready to burst out and take over, but it also shows how considerate and thoughtful Kassidy is by recognising this.

It is this side to Kassidy which helps her try to reason with Quint early on in the story. When Quint takes over Ben and threatens Jude and Max quite strongly, Kassidy manages to talk him down when asking him to let go of them. I love the fact that Kassidy has this tiny hold over Quint, even if just in this instance. It shows the ability that Quint has to listen to her. This particular scene reminded me of John Connor talking down the ‘good’ terminator in Terminator 2: Judgment Day when the terminator tries to kill a couple of big, innocent guys that were just checking if John is okay after being grabbed by the terminator. John is able to order the terminator to leave them alone and he miraculously listens to John. Here, we find demon Quint listen to Kassidy. But, will this happen moreso as Kassidy gets closer to him/Ben, or is it a one-time occurrence?

This exciting, thrilling read will barely give you time to catch your breath as you find yourself in a very fast-paced read that is electrifying at every turn, whether it be the thrill of the chase or the powerful, intensifying moments between Kassidy and Dr. Ben Fletcher/Demon Quint.

Demon is great into picking up where we left off in Dwell (book 2) and reminding readers where Kassidy is at and what she has been through. Due to the author’s clarity, great description and some of the dialog it is clear what is happening with the story. That said, if you really want to feel every little bit of what Kassidy and the gang have gone through I would strongly recommend that you read Drug and Dwell too.

Demon is chilling to the bone – a raw blend of gritty horror and gore. All the strong feelings that make you feel alive are present within the first two chapters alone! You’re heart will be racing and you’ll put anything else off in order to finish the book. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, but it will leave you craving for the next adventure. An unforgettable experience!

This is a great series and so hard to put down, many times in the wee hours of the morning I would read one more page before I went to sleep. Thanks Lynda for all those sleepless nights but seriously this is a real page turner. Quint and Ben are such opposites yet her attraction for both the man and the demon albeit a reluctant one is interesting to observe as they both protect in one way yet they are more of a threat to Kassidy than the cleaners are. So many twists and turns that you are never sure what will happen next which is always part of the fun when reading these types of stories. Raven is a great character and Jude the "cool" dude seems to be the lucky one so far. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I could not put this down. Once you start reading this series it's hard to stop. As it is the third book I can't really say anything but this series is yet to falter in my opinion. It can be hard to find a decent horror series, but this one is amazing.

I care about all the main characters, including raven - whom I probably wouldn't like in real life.

Omg I read this in one sitting and can't wait for book 4, to see how many more twists and turns Lynda throws at us. I'm still hoping for more Dr Ben Fletcher. I kinda love he's jekyll and Hyde personality :)

LOVE!

I flew through Demon in just a few days. (Big deal with so many kids). I love that, just like the first two books, Demon was non-stop action from the start. It had me on the edge of my seat wanting more! Keep it up, Lynda! Love this series!

Lynda O'Rourke once again takes her readers on a thrill ride of scary suspense! Sorry, I don't give spoilers.

Bravo, this book does not deserve a five star rating but more like a ten star. Follow Kassidy Bell on her harrowing quest to find the infamous Dr. Langstone. Will her torment ever end?

Cannot wait for Book 4 to see if Kassidy finds her answers. Once again, brave Lynda O'Rourke, I'm such a huge fan!

Fantastic suspenseful read

What a fantastic suspenseful, terror filled adventure. Each terror filled page had me turning frantically trying to find out what was happening. I can't get enough of these demonic filled pages. Each plot twist has you gripping your book with anticipation. Who is who? Can they be trusted? Is Kassidy doomed? I need to know. I can't wait to get book 4 in my little hands!!!!

NOTE: My review may contain minor spoilers, or hints at events.

More of the same fast paced action and irresistible page turning that I've grown to devour at an insatiable rate.

Gut-wrenching was the twisted fate of poor Hannah. She really did not deserve it but it made for awesome reading and allowed for the unnerving and spine-tingling introduction of Doshia.

The Bishop's house made for the perfect set-up for the entire book. Also, he got what he deserved.

Kassidy is getting physically and mentally stronger, and more self-assured, though that could be partly down to the VA20 pushing further into her system.
The scene in the train tunnel was epic. Gruesome. But epic.
Oh, how I wish she and Quint would just get it on already. They clearly want each other.

Quint, you're a bad, bad demon but I can't help but want to read more of your loathsome, dirty sexy ramblings towards Kassidy. You are the whizz, the pop and the bubbles going down that makes me keep reading.
Anyone else catch my BFG reference there? No? You make me sad, haha!

Also Quint, who the f*** is Etta?! Was she another demon that you were in love with or was she Ben's love interest? And why do you keep thinking that Kassidy is Etta? Does she resemble Etta reincarnated? Interesting, interesting...

Ben, you're a pain in the ass and a bit of a sad sap too, but who can blame you, really? Afterall, Quint is controlling your almost every move, action, thought and feeling. Your body and your mind has not been your own for a very long time.

Jude, hmm, are you really Doshia? It seems so. Or is this some sneaky deception, a misdirection on the authors part? I'll have to keep reading the series to find out.

Raven, as strong as a character as she is, really irked me at times with her "this is creepy" remarks and her impatient hissy fits. She's rather melodramatic and in this book I found her somewhat annoying. Still, she does play a vital role in this series and holds her own, so I looked past it.
She redeemed herself in the cell block though and I was silently egging her on.

My eyes narrowed when she [Raven] mentioned Eras and yet no more was mentioned about this demon. Does Eras live within Raven? Did the demon possess her on Ward 2 back at Cruor Pharma on Strangers Hill? She did act very odd and had to be sedated. Maybe she was being possessed and the sedation acted as the perfect cover up. Hmm...

Max, oh Max, you really are struggling with yourself but it seems you find the courage to believe in yourself towards the end. Bravo! Or rather, baton!
I really do hope he finds out what happened to his brother Robert. The poor guy is losing hope.

Sylvia, you are one creepy girl. Cold and calculating. I would not want to be trapped in a room with you. Then again, better you than Alex. He'd have gobbled me up in the blink of an eye!

We follow on kassidy, max, jude and ravens journey to find Dr Langstone to try and remove the va20 from their bodies. On the way max finds them and tries to help as he holds back the demon that resides within him. On the journey things go horribly wrong, more demons are after them and someone in the group can't be trusted. Kassidy has to make hard decisions and find who she can really trust out of the group.
I couldn't put this book down as I wanted to find out more, it's like a train wreck you can't tear your eyes off of

After saving this book for my holiday I wasn't let down.

We return to where book 2 finished. The gang continue to be on the run from the cleaners in a bid to find Dr Langstone. As is the way with Kassidy, they encounter trouble on the way and are arrested for murder. Will they make it to Cruor Pharma and Dr Langstone?

This book has lots of surprises but also lots of questions to be answered.

What is next for Kassidy? I m sure book 4 will give us more answers.

This was the 3rd book in the Kassidy bell book set. I enjoyed it just as much as the others altho I did think that this would be the final chapter but there is another book coming out soon.

All in all a good book I think it should have been a longer book and tied it all up as nowhere on amazon does it say that there will be another book after this.
