Imagine you are a psychopath for a minute (for one out of ten of us, no imagination is needed). Now imagine you have a lifestyle beyond wealth and recognizable luxury. You live in a reality where you have access to technology and information that very few are privy to. You are truly special among billions. You pay servants (corporate CEOs, Managers, etc...) of all sorts to carry out all of your directives (money is irrelevant to you because you have the power to create money). Alongside your servants you have real slaves that you like having around just because you can; and sometimes you use them for sex or simply torture them to death because those things thrill you. Of course, many of them are children.
Now imagine you have some friends that are entitled to the same lustrous and perverted world as you. Over time, you guys begin to feel truly different from normal humans. In fact, you create your own private religion based on materialism, carnal desire and a truly twisted sense of spirituality. You call it Luciferarianism. You praise darkness because you and your ilk, in a sense, exist in darkness. After all, among the hordes, very few even know you exist. Over time, you and your friends begin to cultivate a level of paranoia that you believe is healthy; it keeps you on your toes, looking out for any of the minions that might be getting wise to you and your gang and your disturbing reality - the reality you love. Your paranoia grows. Despite your efforts, more and more from the unwashed mass are figuring out your game.
Now imagine someone from your rank has an idea: a way to preserve your disturbing reality, hopefully, indefinitely. He describes a plan to hoodwink all of humanity. Create a false reality for the masses, a reality that you and your kind can dictate and control (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s8Ph... ). The key to creating this reality is to take away any organic measure of culture creation and become mass culture producers. It is essential that you have a formula to monopolize culture creation. Independent creative thought and production is the biggest threat to your secret reality because it only takes one idea of Truth & Reality catching fire and your dark empire will crumble. The plan includes taking control of world finances, energy & resources, military, medicine, education, and most importantly, you need to control mainstream media/news/entertainment. You guys might call this monopoly A Brave New World or a New World Order. In essence, it is a Scientific Dictatorship. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eeHu... ). Within this fabricated reality you diligently put to use the power of music and its irresistible means of influence. It is an essential tool for controlling the masses. By controlling pop culture and music you can control the minds of the horde. It is very important to capture the attention of the youth because you will easily control a generation once you have your talons hooked in them. Go after the young! Go after the young! They will become like livestock never aware or capable of resisting their servitude. In fact, over time, you will be able to convince the masses to love their servitude.

The truth
Devlin provides the truth here about the music industry and society as a whole. In parts a little repetitive however on the whole the simplicity with which he writes is incredibly effective on a complex subject.

An excellent work. Devlin was wide awake and brave to publish this book. Now reading the second book. Well done that man.
