WOW!! This is a WILD story with many twists and turns. When I started to read, I was hooked after the first paragraph. Phoenix C Brown put many twists in a few pages, and as the story unfolds, it leaves readers in awe of how "Damaged Goods" go to any extreme to save others. This short story is an interesting read, and I really enjoyed it!
Damaged Goods started as a typical read; but Phoenix Brown took the latter half of the book and kept me on the seat of my pants. For a story to be short, she didn't hold anything back and it was easy to visualize this happening in real life. There really is drama and suspense in this read.
Great job Phoenix. Not only was this story a great read, it was also entertaining.
This was a very good read. It made me feel that I was right there with the characters. I wish it was a little longer, but I have to remember that it was a short story. I'm looking forward to reading other books by Phoenix C. Brown. Keep up the great work Phoenix.
" Damaged Goods" is a short story by Author Phoenix C. Brown. Whitney is a young woman who, after spending many years in the foster care system, is ready to move on and take control of her own life. When tragedy strikes, Whitney quickly finds her life spiraling downwards and she forced to protect herself and those she loves. Will Whitney be able to persevere or will she forever be" damaged goods"? Damaged Goods was a short but good read. The storyline flowed great and wasn't rushed. The ending was definitely a tear jerker! Looking forward to reading more from this author! 5 stars!

Just picked up this short story after reading a post in one of my FB groups asking who hadn't read any of this author's offerings. I found the story very well written, as well as entertaining. The storyline was easy to follow, the characters developed enough to evoke emotions and cause you to relate to their plights. I completely enjoyed reading it and I may move on to pick up some of the author's full length novels as well. I definitely recommend this short story as one that "finishes" the job and doesn't leave you hanging.
Phoenix Brown has done it again. This short story is packed with suspense and drama. Readers will fall in love with Whitney, a product of foster care who refuses to let her past negatively define her future. She champions for the livelihood and welfare of her adopted siblings and does so without fail. I give this short 5*s & 2 thumbs up. Terrific job Mrs. Brown!
Absolutely one of the best short stories I've read. It's my first read by this author and I'm so glad to have found her. My next two books will be her two novels.
D.G. is what she was called but it was all worth it in the end. Nice quick read by Phoenix. Thanks for making sure we actually had closure in this short story.
This was indeed an eye opener! A very short but good read. Whitney, through all she had been through, helped her foster sister and brother grow up to not become damaged goods as she had been called. Her, Jeremiah and Mary became a family. I wonder what happened to Detective Cunningham and Soledad? This was my first read by the author and I look forward to reading more!
This was a really good quick fix. Damaged goods was a well written short story with a lot of action and lessons to be learned. Phoenix Brown is a talented author who has a way with words.
This was a great short story that packed a lot into such a quick read. It's not easy to get depth of characters from short stories but I felt these characters, Phoenix had me rooting for Whitney.
