Another dark romance from the authors of Trapped in His World.
Joel's former flame, Rowena, is still his friend -- so much so that she asked him to be godfather to her daughter. Now Rowena and her husband are gone, victims of a car accident, and their daughter 19-year-old Rhonda is in his care.
Rhonda isn’t sure she likes her handsome godfather—or the way he looks at her. Once she’s under his roof, her worst fears are confirmed. Joel intends to own her…control her…teach her his own brand of pleasure and pain.
Will Rhonda find a way to escape her captivity? Or will Joel’s dark desires take root in her soul?
This is a dark romance novella with NO cliffhanger. Intended for audiences 18+ and not for the fainthearted. Contains situations some readers might find objectionable.
Stella Noir is a new voice of dark romance. She loves everything forbidden, and enjoys pushing the limits of what readers enjoy. Her hope is to show readers the good in the bad.

This book made zero sense. I'm all about dark erotica. I love a good captive story with a dominant, feel no remorse, takes what he wants, alpha male...this book though... So Rhonda's parents die when she's 19 but leave all her money in the hands of her Godfather Joel until she's 21. She's his ward, and there's no way around it.
To add to my annoyance, during the deed, despite her being 19, "she had no idea what was happening, but she could feel something" and later when she saw his "manhood," she thought that might have been what it was. Really? She's that naive? Whatever sympathy I had for her was lost in my disgust with her ignorance. Words like "manhood" and "womanhood" were repeatedly used which aggravated me further. Who talks like that? Then there's the end... *sigh*
I really liked the silent daughter and thought I would like this book also but that was a no go. This perverted Dickhead was nothing more than a child molester and a freak. I hated this dude.
I would only recommend someone to read this just to laugh about the hilarious reason the hero has for doing so much damage to this poor girl. It was a complete room 6 on the third floor of the pshych ward at memorial hospital kind of excuse. This Hero was nothing but a weirdo and a piece of crap!
Well it was written very well. Kinda freaked me out a little bit. He was definitely a dominant male that's for sure! I just didn't like how poorly he treated Rhonda at the beginning and the first time they had sex. Other then that it was great.
Rhonda lost her parents in a car accident. At the age of nineteen, she was suddenly whisked away from her home , to be under the guardianship of her godfather whom she hasn't seen in years , Joel.
When Joel learned that Rhonda was to be his ward, he also wanted her to submit to his dark sexual lifestyle. But Rhonda felt used and abused and she didn't understand his anger , so she ran away.
When an aciddent happened to Rhonda , Joel realized his mistakes and vowed to do everything to gain her forgiveness.
One must really read the blurb and heed to the warning. This dark romance really contained scenes or situations that may be objectionable to some readers. Personally, this book did not satisfy me so much because I prefer to read dark romance where the BDSM is not forced by either party. Apparently , in this book , it was forced upon and distasteful, at first. And the redemptive factor for Joel took too long to progress. I was also a bit doubtful of his character. He was nice to the others around him and sexually abusive to Rhonda for the most part , except after the accident. Sure, he showed little romantic gestures at some point but it still appeared cold and devoid of love. Also, there was no clarification on whether animal cruelty was involved. I am not against reading very dark romance or even heightened levels of BDSM but I detest even the idea of hitting or worse, killing, a dog or any animal, no matter how noisy. I personally wished that part was not included in this book. This is just a matter of my personal preference , as a reader.
Be that as it may, the construction of this book was relatively satisfactory. There is certainly room for improvement.
I have read an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review .
This was an absurd read. This book was not for me. The story itself seemed to be a story about a man forcing a young woman to have sex with him. That is not okay with me. The characters lacked depth and I thought both characters were lacking for me in chemistry. I did not feel any chemistry between the main characters. Also, I found the plot to be boring and uninventive. Overall, a meh read.
Her Godfather was bad. The characters were underdeveloped and not likable. The story was incomplete; it just ended. Even then warnings were incomplete. This book has elements that may be trigger events for some readers, including multiple rape scenes.
I am a bit confused how to rate this book. Let me explain... It is an interesting hot & heavy, steamy, undies catching on fire kind of story, but I am not sure how this situation can not be called rape? rape is (i googled this definition) "without the consent of the victim"...roll back in the evil stares and mean looks ...before every one get their panties in a bunch ... it truly has nothing to do with age! ... that is never a problem for me ... I never understand why folks get their minds made up about that, but???! ... some young girl or boys can be very mature but are young in age, back in the day folks got together in the early teens of their life, I see no problem with that as long as they are both agreeing of being together! What I feel truly passionate about or think is most important... do you have 2 people who are both into the play, the sex, dating the whatever they are doing, do you wanna be doing this? if they both do wanna be there, than it is okay, move on with yourself and do what you are doing. if both parties are not wanting to be there, only 1 is into what is going on than their is not consent from both sides, so it is not okay! consent is the word I want, ... how can it be considered okay or right? Okay that being out of the way ... 'cause I can do that, move that huge issue out of the way, 'cause I can do that will anything ... Stella & Roxy ... are two freakin' awesome great writers, like their styles .. I have read several of their books ...never read one with both of them writing. I don't even see this book Amazon? But for that reason or the reason of iffy situation, without consent with Rhonda ... I am thinking low 4 stars for me personally? but if I missed the disclaimer, warning ... or some where they give what is going to be happening ... for me it might make it a bit high in the 4 scale for me. I wish we could have a bit more info on Rhonda ... I know a lot of them, girls (not sure this is the same with boys, I was never boy, so I can not give you that side of the issues) but we girls think sometimes we can allow the older guy to take charge, we shy back away, turtle ourselves and don't stand up ... instead of taking charge and stand up we scare away. I think over time you learn and don't allow men or anyone to step all over you. Maybe there needs to be a disclaimer saying Rhonda is consenting of the situation & whatnot must needed info to help so many readers to be more understanding, expecting of it all?? just sayin' ( ;
I just reviewed this ...been thinking about it again ... I wanna step out on a limb and think that from the bottom of my heart ... I feel that both these authors ... took this writing as that both adults agreed to this situation ... of at least it makes it right in my mind ... oh well ... you as a reviewer can only read what you see on the pages ... you have truly no clue what an author thinks? I usually say that most people think the best 1st. I hope?! : )
I am guilty, I have a dark side. One I embrace. I enjoy darker than the average, it keeps me interested. Encompasses the reader into a world that is not like the every day. A personal escape. A work of art. Fiction. There are many things I look for when I delve into these type of stories and when the author fails on the surface of those things, the book is an extreme struggle for me to read. I like to be able to have myself feel something. Connect to the characters and the plot of the story. This book was an epic fail. It was difficult to figure out sometimes who was thinking or what was even going on. The story, even for someone who enjoys the extreme, was so off base. The writing style truly needed assistance. Someone should have helped proofread and edit before release. The story would have been more believable if it flowed as opposed to being choppy. The characters held no substance and had this reader becoming frustrated with them. How it could be even believable that a young woman's parents could die and leave her godfather as her ward at the age of 19 with chance of escape until she is 21...? He violates her, sodomizes her, robs her of her virginity and we are to believe she has fallen for him, chose to remain with him on her own accord with suffering from Stockholm Syndrome? She is hospitalized and even though it is obvious she could have reported him or that the hospital staff could have observed that their relationship was not amicable or appropriate. No questions asked, she is released back into his care. This reader is not a fan. Moving on to better quality books to read.
For honest review. I enjoyed this book but have mix emotions on it .first great writing second I felt I wanted to bet this character he knew she was young, inexperienced , and grieving but he raped her anyway he says it's bdsm but that's not the statistics of a Dom that are to do no harm with out concentrate he didn't give her a safe word nothing ok I'm going on read the story tell me your thoughts. But good book
After losing her parents at the age of 19 Rhonda Fallon world changed for the worst. After the Will was read she found out that she would be living with Joel Longwood her Godfather, and he would give her an allowance until she was 21. When she moved in with Joel she quickly found out his plans for her and if she didn't cooperate she would be punished. One night after a dinner party at the house Joel became really angry with Rhonda and she didn't know why, but his abuse was so bad that after she waited for him to go to sleep so she could sneek out, but by trying to get away she was hit by a car and taken to the hospital. Joel felt really bad about what had happened to Rhonda especially the way he treated her that he promised her that he wouldn't touch her anymore unless she wanted him to. When she was back in Joel's home he gave her all the help she needed and he also told her why he was upset that night and what was his real relationship with her mother. After what Joel told her she seemed to forget all the abused he put her through and little by little Joel got what he wanted after all.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Bookfunnel arc.
Joel was sitting in the police station finding out his two best friends were dead. Rowena and Gerald has their daughter Rhonda late in life and they asked Joel to be the Godfather to their daughter. Rowena knew at that time that Joel had a darker side which they indulged in until she met Gerald. The reading of the Will was not what Rhonda had in mind. She had to live with her godfather until she was 21 and she was only 19. She would then her inheritance and to live her life on her terms. Joel tells her he is going to start his training and Rhonda has no idea what to expect.Joel started to teach Rhonda on a daily basis something new everyday. He told her about his time he spent with her mother and how close they were to each other this was before Gerald. Rhonda knew that now she had a bank account she was getting her little allowance so it would be no time until she saved up enough to get away from Joel. Rhonda takes off running into the forest once she got out of his house.
This is a dark book it deals with things that could be a trigger.
NSFW A 19 year old girl is forced to live with her godfather when her parents die in a horrific accident. She wanted to live at her own mansion with her servants. but her parents made a will making her godfather her caretaker. Everything was to be auctioned off except for any small trinkets she wanted to keep. She would not see her inheritance until age 21. Her godfather makes her his BDSM slave the very night she moves in, taking her virginity in a very rough way. She is humiliated by his sexual abuse and runs away into the night and gets hit by a car and nearly dies. What will happen while she is in the hospital, will she tell someone, or will she accept her lot in life? Her godfather is so apologetic, she doesn't know if she can trust him or if she will leave as soon as her injuries are healed.
I enjoy a variety of books and can handle most things, but rape, abuse and hurting animals and children are my hard limits. The only reason this book gets two stars is that there was some redemption of the abusive totally self absorbed hero ( the broach incident was a case of his obviously not getting over Rhonda's mother and taking it out on the daughter.) Rhonda's growth of character and her ability to stand up to Joel helped the 2 stars.
The ending needed to be longer the reader needs closure here not just an epilogue to show they are back to a darker sexual relationship but how they got there and how Joel won Rhonda back would have been good.
Joel's a complete arsehole Rhonda's too naive for words given what her mother had experienced with Joel.
There are logical fallacies in this book. How in the blazing hell did the main guy in this book think and feel they could treat the main girl in this book the way they did after what happened to her parents? Also, there are some corny parts in this book for me. At least the main guy toned it down with the craziness, I guess. By the way, this is not a romance book. It is a book about rape from a psychopath that the parents somehow were comfortable with for their daughter's well being until she turned 21.
Ok I didn't,like it it made no sense like a parent would allow or want what he did to her happen. The mother dated him so she knew who and what he was like no mother would want him near their daughter. It was so fake I like books that I feel like I can go and meet them at a bar. Well this book isn't like that thank god it was free I'm so disappointed I love this author and loved her other books but this one was a bust.
0 star Zero sense A disgusting story about violence(his behaviour towards her) and human stupidity(she is a stupid to forgive him) He only deserved a kick in his balls Moreover he was her mother's boyfriend in the past( bleah!) After reading this book I consider Christian Gray a modern Prince Charming and Fifty Shades of Gray a book with a logical plot and two valid characters Absolutely to avoid.
I was very disappointed in this read. I have enjoyed many other works from these two authors on their own but this one just didn't work for me. I have read dark reads with bdsm and Dom/sub relationships but this one wasn't a relationship it was just brutal. Without letting her know what's going on he sets her on this course. With her being as naive as she is portrayed it just makes this story worse. Just no, even with the warning and the accident it doesn't make it better.
I'd rate this zero stars if I could. From the blurb I knew to take this story with a grain of salt, but this whole thing was absolutely fucking terrible. I've not read anything from either of these authors before, and I don't think I will in the future. Never mind the plot, which was fucked up but again, I knew (somewhat) what I was getting into. But the writing was bad. Really bad. If it's any indication of how these authors normally write... yikes.
I'm all for dark romances but im not sure how I felt about this one. There was a point in the book where Joel asks if Rhonda had lost all common sense. I was like umm excuse me, clearly you have. There were multiple times he crossed that line. (Reminded me of fifty shades of grey the movie). But as messed up as it was, I had to know how it ended.
I wasn’t so sure about This book at first. Ok I am into all kinds of dark things but this just seemed a little wrong to begin with. He was trusted to look after his friends daughter but instead he basically taped and abused her. I didn’t like the way he reacted over a broach. But afterwards he was sorry and there was a happy ending. So not quite a 5 star in my eyes.
omg another awesome book you wrote! its about a young woman who has to live with her godfather because it was in her parents will. he has some dark sexual things that he likes to do. can she survive this man? thanks for giving me a chance to read this book!
For a quick read, this was nice and compact. Good story line, though there are many around with the same concept. This was neat and eye catching. Good amount of BDSM and as always emotions. Great read for a quickie.
This is my first read of Roxy Sinclaire and I shall certainly be reading many more of her books. This is a short erotic read and Rhonda’s character was perfect as she was so naive against her strong Godfather Joel. I would strongly recommend this as a must read.
This book was well written. He was definitely a dominant male. I didn't like the way Joel treated Rhonda. She didn't deserve his treatment. She was basically his slave. I didn't care much for the ending, which I thought left to many questions.
