Kerr is the Alien Prince of the Planet Euthenia. His mother died while he was very young and he has never met true love. His father is against his decision, but Kerr has to follow his own path as he is to become the future King!

Those two never-loved souls have to make this work. However, one of them has a dark secret. A secret unknown to everyone except for Kataline’s father who will not say anything about it until it is too late. While they are heading back to Planet Euthenia, an Uprising starts there by Earth Colonists.

When Kerr’s father is informed about it, he imprisons Kataline!

Was this Kataline’s father plan all along? Was she a part of the scheme? Will Kerr save her or not? What will happen between those two?

I have zero idea how this book has such a high rating. The writing and language is like a regency historical romance where everyone speaks very stiffly and formally. Here is an example:

"Father I might faint. I might go weak in my legs. Please do not allow me to fall," I say in a whisper as I have not enough breath to speak any louder."

This, of course, happens as she see her groom (a very human looking alien) and goes all a-flutter. There is a ridiculous scene where he is undressing her in their hotel room for the first time and she thinks she has a medical issue or possibly an allergy to her husband because her virginal self becomes breathless, flushed, and wet when she sees her naked groom. Yes, yes it's that sort of book. I stuck with it as one might a movie so bad it's funny (or maybe a train wreck), when I realized that the author was getting paid for every horrible page I was reading on Kindle Unlimited. That's when I quit and returned the book. Unless silly virgins and men whose body are "naturally made that way" to have six packs, speaking like a BBC historical drama, are your thing, opt out.

I never give such low reviews because it makes me feel so mean.
But seriously, how is this even published? The characters are so unbelievable and naive to the point of ridiculousness and the grammar and overall lay out of this book was pretty bad. Basically discard the fantastic reviews because I suspect they're fake.
I'm not even going to put it on my read list because I just can't believe I wasted time reading this

I dont even want to finish this book. This is horrible!
Besides the authors writing style she just lost me. The deflowering-virgin scene was just ridiculous/eye-rolling and insensitive on so many levels.
But what bothers me the most is that he (the husband) punishes her for leaving the room (without asking! the bitch) and after beating her ass with a rope of some sort she says "thank you, sir, for teaching me my place."
WTF??? Are you kidding me?
She is supposed to be intelligent AND defiant, at least that's what the author tells us, just to show us the most submissive thing I ever encountered.
And it doesn't even stop there! She almost apologizes to him that HE had to go through this!
He didn't even tell her the rules beforehand which she is supposed to follow, but punishes her nontheless!
I want to scream at the author, the maincharacters and the whole setup!
NO! Just no!

I hate this book

I chose the rating because it was so boring that I couldn't force my self to finish the book. The diary style prose that bounce between characters is novel but the repetition of the story line is annoying. I also dislike her characterisation because it seems like that all but the main female have no real personality. The alien husband just seems to be kind to get what he wants then pushes her to eat bugs and dirt. I don't care what planet they are from, he chose to accept her, he should have food for her. Then most of the time the character just gives in which is stupid. If you like insipid female characters go for it but I won't get anything else from her.

"I glare into his eyes. “Because I am not used to being talked down to. That’s why.”

“You should get used to this. It’s how you will be talked to once we get home anyway.” Kerr smiles."

And he's serious. He's not joking. And here is where the book lost me.

Well isn't this something, I just started this book which is another new
author for me. I have to say this is an extraordinary SciFi read.
Can you imagine your whole life on the planet Earth and your power
hungry father who basically genetically engineered her to be the
smartest, most perfect women ha was anyone women perfect
because Kataline knew she wasn't. Learning about the planet
Euthenia Nebula that it has two Suns one is bigger than the
other and three moons which are always visible. Kataline was
scared of this outcome marrying a man she didn't know never
ever met didn't even know what he looked like . What if he
beat her she will be on a different planet. There was no
expense spared for this wedding, hundreds of people came people
she didn't even know she was so scared, as she walked down the
aisle barely seeing through her veil, she saw her soon to be husband.
Kataline couldn't believe her eyes he was the handsomeness man/alien
she ever saw oh my she might pass out.
Prince of Euthenia, Kerr loves his planet his people that is why he decided
to take the reward offered. He wanted a change for his people, than when
he became King he could implement his changes he wanted.
When he saw his reward he knew he made the right decision.
I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

This is quite an interesting story.

Earth is on the brink of being destroyed by an alien race. So they come up with a plan to raise genetically engineered females to award to certain of the aliens to make alliances. This a short read with a cliff hanger which I did not mind at all because it was well written and made me want to read the rest of the story. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

Kataline is a genetically enhanced human. She was created from fifteen different DNA to get the perfect human. Her father, the senator, gave her to Kerr, Prince of Euthenia, as a peace offering. Neither one had met the other until she walked down the isle for the wedding. There is instant attraction between them. While they were on the ship heading back home, Kataline kept hearing voices in her mind and developed powers. When I read this, all I could think about was Breaking Dawn from the Twilight series. She is able to move things or make things stop with her mind, put a shield around people so that no one can touch them and show what could happen in the future if things didn't change from the current path. Sound familiar?

In the middle of the book it switches to Caleb and Emerald as the main characters. This was very confusing at first. I wasn't sure if I was reading another book or what. After reading for a bit, you come to understand that the author is telling what was happening on Euthenia at the same time as what was happening with Kataline and Kerr. So the first twenty-four chapters are about Kataline and Kerr and then chapters twenty-five to thirty-seven are about Caleb and Emerald. From there to the end it is a combination of all the characters in the book.

I was looking forward to reading this because I am a big Paranormal Romance reader. This was just disappointing. It started out good, but it just went down from there. I enjoy a good sex scene, but there were just too many in this book. It seemed like after every event there was sex afterwards.... Get married, have sex; She gets locked up, they have sex; It's night time, they have sex; He finds out his father may have killed his mother, they have sex. Well you get the idea. It was good at first, but then I wound up skipping over the sex scenes just to get to the story. And then with Caleb and Emerald, it was back to event, sex, event, sex. I think the book could have been half the length if you cut out all the sex.

And what was with all the Epilogues? There were five different ones. Kerr, Caleb, Kataline, Emerald and then Kerr again. Each one was a few years after the previous one. Sometimes it's good to draw your own conclusions about what happens next. With this, everything is laid out there with nothing left to guess. So no need to worry about a cliffhanger. There is definitely not one.

I voluntarily reviewed a Hidden Gems ARC of this book.

3.5 stars. This book is longer than I expected and actually switches between several POVs including some unexpected ones. I sometimes found it hard to remember whose POV I was in, and it wasn’t always clear by the prose.

The book starts off with Kataline, an earth woman who was genetically created. She has been presented to the prince of an alien planet as his bride. She does not like this idea, but has always assumed she was to be used politically in some way so she is not surprised. Kataline is not sure her husband-to-be knows what he is getting himself into. She is sure he is unaware of her intelligence and is going to expect complete submission, something she is not planning on giving.
Kerr is from the planet of Euthenia where there are human settlers that are not conforming to the local ways. Euthenians are physically limited to having two children since the native women only have two eggs. The humans are not limited in this way and could eventually use up the available resources of the small planet. Kerr is personally not against the thought that his human wife could present him with more than two heirs. His brother was killed as a child, as so he is the sole heir to the throne.

The trip back to Euthenia is complicated by the news that a human uprising has occurred on the planet. Kerr’s father is sure that Kataline has knowledge of the uprising and makes things very difficult for her and Kerr.

Meanwhile, on Euthenia, we meet Caleb and Emerald. They are two of the human settlers on the planet and things there are not going well. They are stuck in a desolate part of the planet with no access to things like indoor plumbing or electricity. But is this the fault of the current King, or is something else going on?

The two parts of the story will eventually meet up. There are a few surprises and a lot of epilogues to let us see the future of all the primary characters. I enjoyed the stories, even if the telling is a bit awkward at times and things do not always make sense. I think the changing POVs is more of a hindrance than a help.

“Kerr” by Ashley Hunt is a fantastic premise, genetically engineered earth female meets hot alien prince… forced political marriage, off world setting with compulsory submission (hey, don’t judge me…) and plenty of… ahem… well you know. For the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed Kerr and Kataline’s story which included likeable characters, plenty of intrigue, romance, instant chemistry and… ahem… well you know. It kind of fell apart for me half way through the book when entirely new characters were introduced. Initially, I found myself a bit confused but quickly realized it to be a subplot (duh…). However, I’m kind of selfish… I don’t want to share the main protagonists story with other characters, unless of course it’s a… ahem… multiple partner scenario… (did I really just say that!?). Although the story flowed, I found it a bit lengthy, the dialogue somewhat stiff and frequently the sentence structure seemed a bit odd or awkward (not that my reviews are ever a bit odd or awkward…).

Ultimately, I’ve rated “Kerr” at 3.5 stars but my recommendation is to download a sample and decide for yourself.

Kataline is a genetically engineered human who has been educated ready to bring peace to Earth - not that anyone bothered to ask her is she was happy to do that. Kerr is the alien Prince of Euthenia and he is the one she is being given to. However when they are travelling to Euthenia the human colonists from Earth start an uprising and Kataline is imprisoned by her father and starts to wonder if that was his plan all along.

This was a story with Kataline and Kerr as main characters but it covered their parents and friends too. Whilst it started in a very misogynist society it soon moved to a society where women were at last equal and able to have their own lives and hopes and dreams. I liked that the society was able to develop and correct many of the past wrongs by the younger generation. I did find it a little rambling and thought that the focus on the older generation was a little misplaced in a book with the title Kerr. The descriptions of emotions were clear and easy to understand and the writing was good.

I read this through KU. Although, saying I "read" it was a stretch as I quit around 11%. This is a terrible book about terrible people who subjugate and barter women. I could not even stomachs the book. The MF is kept in seclusion and disallowed any choice in her life only to be given as an award to a selfish domineering MM who has only token thoughts of respect for her. He makes her call him "sir," says emotionally damaging things to her and about her in public and beats her into submission with the promise of bettering life for females on his planet. He is neither likeable nor believable as a romantic lead and the girl is just as bad for putting up with such terrible behavior. This reads like a little boy's dream of the perfect woman being seen and not heard, dismissed unless needed for sex, nothing more than a living doll. So anyone interested in a normal romance with a HEA, this book is not for you. It is written for misogynist. 1 star. And that's generous.

I couldn't wait to read this book when I saw the title of this book. I loved it. The only thing that I didn't like was it ended on a cliffhanger. I was just being my normal self and reading this book and then all of a sudden it was gone.

I haven't read a book by this author before and I have to say that she will be on my list of author's to read.

I will warn you that this is a book that has different ways of dealing with women when they don't listen to their men. If you don't like spankings then this isn't the book for you. It is just a warning!

Kataline is a woman that knows her mind and doesn't want to do what her father is making her do. That's what happens when you're a science experiment to make men on Earth have more power. When she meets the Prince things change. It's like they are meant to be together.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Where to start?? This is more a 3.5 than 4 star read. I believe this book would have been better broken up into novellas. I think i understand why the author has written it this way, but it is just a tad too confusing meeting important characters around 1/3 of the way into a book. Too many varying POVS from 6 important characters, just made the book choppy and slowed the books flow considerably.
Emphasis is placed on the fact that the female character is genetically altered from multiple DNA, but we are given no more than that.
Heaps of steam....and i never thought i would say this....but too much, it just became repetitive.
Storyline moves pretty quickly and there are so many twists and turns yall might end up dizzy! And epilogues....yep you read that right, multiple epilogues.....
Usually I love this author, so I am hoping this is just a glitch and the next one is much better...

I don't think I've ever given a one-star rating before but I couldn't give this book two stars. It's been awhile since I received this book from the author and I couldn't find it on Amazon. I did find several other books that she's written since I received this one and they have decent ratings so I'm guessing she took the reviews on this book to heart.

The way Awarded to the Alien is written makes me think that the author may have been trying too hard. It needs a good edit. But that's just the beginning. There are several things that don't make sense, such as Kataline being an advanced human being made from the DNA of scientists, geniuses, and beautiful people, and she has read many romances, but she is clueless. Beyond clueless when dealing with Kerr. It is frustrating for the reader and makes no sense.

I can't recommend this book as it is at this time.

I almost stopped reading this a couple of times but I stayed with it. I do not know if whoever checked this for grammatical errors has English as a second or third language but when a character is "speaking" about what is going on around them or what they are doing they the tense keep changes. For instance he is describing himself kissing his wife but talks of putting his hands not my hands on her and when his wife touched him he says that she kissed me and held his hand not my hand and that she touched him not me. Please please get someone who has English as their first language read a book before it is published I am fed up of reading books that get the grammar wrong or are full of spelling mistakes.

Juvenile Plot

This has a poorly thought out plot. Women are opressed in the alien culture, yet Katilina is supposed to be independent and strong, fighting for women's rights and changing the culture, she can't do anything without Kerr. Humans are considered lower life forms, and as such must be stupid and worthless. It makes no sense why the king would allow the union with Katilina and Kerr to begin with. The love is too quick for such a difference in culture. Katilina is too childish and for someone who's supposed to be super smart, she acts dumb and gets offended by everything, yet wants everything her man can give her. I couldn't finish any more than the first few chapters.

I gave 2 stars just for lack of grammatical errors.

Kataline a genetically engineered woman who was created to breed for the aliens. She has never had sex, although her father has basically forced her into an arranged marriage with the alien king of the planet Euthenia in order to bring peace to their planet Earth. Kerr is her betrothed, and he is very patient with her, loving even, in his alien way. This is the first book in Ashley Hunt's Alien Mates series and is full of action, suspense, betrayal, and love. I thought Ms. Hunt did a good job introducing us to the world of Euthenia without too much detail, and the romance was sensually steamy. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and also bought a copy.

Another great alien romance from Ashley Hunt! This story is longer than some of her others so be prepared. There are several main characters in the book and each chapter jumps to a different POV. The primary characters of Kataline, a genetically engineered human, and Kerr, the alien prince both are well written and you can see their growth and struggles throughout the story. The other main characters are the King and Queen of Euthenia and two of the human settlers/colonist on the planet. All 3 sets of characters and their stories intertwine together to tell the tale as a whole. The book has a HEA ending with epilogues for each character to tie up their stories!

This book is about 450 pages and could have easy been at 250 pages, similar to the author's other books. I found the actions, problems, and words repetitive - found "things" about 325 times! Saying that, it looked like the story was written by a much younger person who lacked a wide variety of vocabulary or ideas. Usually a book should be hard to put down; this one was hard to going back to. I wanted to finish it but I wasn't into it at all. I loved the cover and I loved most of this author's books so I will read on.

A world in the future with traits of the past. Political marriage is the start of this strange adventure in space. Earthlings are spreading across the universe, small settlements on many planets as a way to take over the planets. Kerr, a prince of one of these planets, heads to earth to marry a Earthling, to stop this from happening on his planet. But things are not as they seem and the mystery and adventure starts. I hope there will be more books based on this world.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions. Ashley has you believing in an alternative world where aliens and humans can live side by side. I was so pleased to finally read Kerr, you have strong dynamite characters, deadly adversaries and cunningly laid plots that leaves you wanting more. Kerr and Kataline together was sensual, sultry and exquisite. I can honestly say I recommend this book.

Wow, great read. Although I do have a few of Ashley Hunt's books this is the first I have read and I loved it. This is your usual Sci-fi romance but with so much more thrown into the pot. There is plenty of action and a great twist along the way. And this isn't the usual short novella, it's actually worth reading and the more I read the more I wanted to read. If you enjoy Sci-fi romance with a great story line, then I can definitely recommend this one.

Earthling Alien romance

How can a modified Earthling be part of a trade to an Alien Prince? Why does she have to be traded away to the Alien Prince when she is so smart? Why can’t she be of use to Earth? The Alien Prince wants to have peace between Earth and his planet at any cost and if that means marrying an Earthling than he will do it. What neither knows is what the future holds for them when they fall in love and change the future.

Well written Alien romance. Not necessarily a quick read, but one with an awesome storyline and great characters. Sort of a Romeo and Juliet-ish twist to the normal Earth girl forced to marry Alien Prince for interplanetary piece. Well worth your time! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was really impressed.) 👍
