Oh boy. This is one of those yummy reads where the characters know what they want but don’t say so until pushed. This makes for excellent sexual tension and me, as the reader, knowing how the other felt and screaming at the book trying to get the other character to hear me. Of course, they didn’t, but it was fun wailing, “Nooooo!” and “You’ve got the wrong idea!” and “He loves you!”
My favourite scene was when Mouse is in disguise and Tor teaches her a thing or two. 1, she’s getting close to the man she’s got the hots for, and 2, he has no clue it’s her at first so she feels more comfortable/less embarrassed to fully let go. I loved this aspect and it gave me pause for thought wondering how it would play out in real life. If it’s anything like inside this book, I want to try it!
I also liked the part where she plays the sub in the first BDSM class. Tor being uncomfortable is so delightful to watch. His jealousy ripples, and I understood how he was feeling. His friend is the one doing the spanking, and there are others watching the whole thing. Mouse has her ass bared to one and all, and it’s Tor’s ass—no one else should be looking.
The to-and-fro banter between Mouse and Tor is amusing but also makes you nod because you can see exactly why they’re behaving as they are. They’re just not informing the other of it. Tor feels pressured by the terms of his mother’s will to comply with what she wanted—there are stipulations that if they don’t comply they don’t get the cash/inheritance—and I empathised with him having to take a step back and allow Mouse to intervene/have a say in what happens with his club. Mouse had to grow a set of balls in order to make Tor listen and understand her ideas, and her character arc is nicely drawn.
Also, the fact that Tor's mother knew exactly what the pair of them wanted before they did was very sweet and cool.

Controlling Interest is such a fun read as well as being sexy as hell. I enjoyed every word and Tor will remain in my dreams for a while to come—naughty!

Quite simply put—I loved it.
Ms. Hawley creates a multifaceted world that keeps you guessing and turning the pages.
Regine Stuart has a legacy to pass to her successors after a long, hard battle against cancer. She passes this on to her loves ones in the form of her last will and testament, delivered to her son, Tor and assistant, Mouse by a lawyer. It is complete with instructions for manning a business venture together. And if they couldn’t play nice together, the ramifications would be that they both lost everything.
This story shows a loving relationship between mother and son. What happens when Regine takes Mouse into her employment and comes to care for her like a daughter. In return, this woman treats the parental figure with adoration and respect.
Even though the polished mastermind was never “on stage,” the lead’s deceased mother, Regine Stuart was filled with spunk and fire. I greatly enjoyed how she played the main characters like pawns she wanted nothing but the best for. And she did know these two—almost, if not better than they knew themselves.
At its heart, Controlling Interest was a love story at its finest. The fast developing passion Tor and Mouse feel for one another is awe inspiring, and their journey to get to the pivotal point in their relationship will take you for a ride with them. You will go through the realistic realm of a Master and his Sub that Ms. Hawley has inked. You will see aspects to the world of BDSM displayed with perfection and sensitivity, with just the right touch of back-story to give you an insider’s look into the characters and who they are today. This addition to the series has thoroughly earned the Five Siren Stones I’ve given it.
Controlling Interest is a fetish fairy tale come true. In the future, I will without a doubt, be pursuing more in Ms. Hawley’s 1-800-DOM-help Series!

Controlling Interest is a short and steamy BDSM romance that I absolutely loved. It's part of the Erotically Bound series, but the story works perfectly as a standalone. Both characters were interesting and very likable, and the chemistry between them was scorching hot. The author had me hooked right from the first page, I couldn't put this book down. The only slight negative I have is that I wish the book was longer, as these characters were fantastic and I would have liked to delve deeper into their lives and relationship.
Mozelle 'Mouse' Vincent is shocked at the content of her boss' will - but not as shocked as his boss' son Torin. Mouse now owns a share of Torin's BDSM club which infuriates him. He tries to buy her out, but his mother put some very specific clauses in her will to prevent this. They've both secretly lusted after the other for years and now struggle to keep things strictly professional between them. They frequently butt heads over club issues and the sexual tension between them reaches record levels.
I'm looking forward to reading more by this author as I've loved every book I've read by her so far. She creates strong, believable characters and weaves fantastic stories around them. Controlling Interest is a brilliant book that receives five stars.

Super cute and sexy - which is a hard combo to pull off! Mouse is a natural sub - she just doesn't know it. Her deceased employer leaves her a ton of loot, she just has to put up with her deceased employer's son, Tor, for six months. It's a little cliche in that the characters have been secretly pining for one another, but I liked it. I understood Mouse's side of things better than Tor's. Tor seemed like the type who would have gone for Mouse regardless of what mommy dearest wanted when she was alive, but then we wouldn't have this fantastic story. I liked how through their play Mouse got rid of baggage. Her character really made this story. I would have like to have understood Tor better. He presents one face to the world and another if you're lucky to catch him unguarded - I wanted to know why that was. still, it's hot, sexy and steamy!

Ms. Hawley knows how to write a novel full of spice, heat, obstacles that keep you interested, and enough sex that you find yourself panting for more. I loved how dominating Mouse was when it came to the business side of BDSM and then became a submissive person in the bedroom. Watching Torin go from this domineering man to someone willing to listen to a normally submissive person made this novel all the better. Controlling Interest is one hot read that I am sure to read again. If you pick up this book, I can guarantee that you will find yourself luxuriating in the world of BDSM.

Hot smexin, smut and BDSM. Mouse finally gets her chance to experience Torin in all ways, she´s been waiting a long time for that. What she didn´t know was that he´s been waiting just as long for her. 3,5 Stars

All I can say is it was ok. Not a bad read, just not great.
I would have preferred to read more about the 6 months of working together and improving the business. Seeing Mouse learn more about the lifestyle. Instead we're whisked to the end with little to no development.

This was a good story, however, I like emotional intense reads and found some of the pieces (i.e. the names) too comical for me to take it serious. Character development seemed rushed and the flow was a tad 'off'.

A good story with fun characters. Neither of them is happy with the will read to them, but both grow into what was meant to be. It's hot BDSM, sensual and erotic. Very enjoyable.
