After graduating in history at University College London, I missed writing about history whether it was Tokugawa Japan or the American revolution. As a graphic designer and writer I wanted to combine history with a fun graphical style. Now I present a gift to children who have a curiosity about the world around them and its rich past, in the form of my series 'Simple History'.
I think this author collection of books are amazing. They are a great way for both kids and adults to learn history. The author has a great way of keeping kids attention while also teaching them some important facts. Not only is the history of the American Revolution examined, but the author adds in a bit of detail about who they fighters were and what they were suing to fight with. Any book that helps kids to learn in a fun way but keeping the facts alive is a winner and that's what this book is!
The book focuses on the old war history rather than other things. You need to have other background knowledge about US history to get the picture well. Otherwise it does not absorb you and you simply pass the page after page with short glimpse.
This book is great for those learning about the American revolution because of it’s short but informational pages. I am amazed by how detailed it is, though, it could be improved a bit. But it’s overall perfect if you just want to have a break and read.
