Cartea îşi merită pe bună dreptate titlul. Am citit-o împreună cu fiul meu de 6 ani, căruia nici măcar cărţile de colorat nu-i plac,iar aceasta, până în prezent, a fost unica carte care l-a făcut să râdă în hohote, să se revolte faţă de unele afirmaţii, să se regăsească în unele situaţii şi să se întristeze când am ajuns la ultima pagină.
O carte mică care mi-a luat cam trei ore de lectură fiindcă ne opream periodic să comentăm, să râdem şi să contribuim cu propriile glume. Mie mi-a plăcut atât caracterul comic al cărţii şi ilustraţiile haioase, cât şi ideile autoarei faţă de cărţi şi cititori, pe care le-a strecurat în mod subtil printre rânduri.
O carte nu este doar o sursă de cunoştinţe şi emoţii pentru oameni selecţi, ne spunea ea, dar un lucru care poate fi savurat aşa cum savurăm o îngheţată. Iar pentru cei care judecă oamenii după cărţile citite, autoarea ne spune că e ok dacă nu îţi place să citeşti cărţi şi e ok să citeşi cărţi doar cu scop utilitar şi e ok chiar să ţii cărţi în casă doar pe post de decor. Cu toate acestea, fiecare om poate găsi o carte scrisă anume pentru el şi atunci când o va citi, aceasta îi va schimba nu doar viziunea asupra cărţilor şi a lecturii dar şi asupra întregii lumi.

Los libros infantiles tienen siempre colores brillantes, letras grandes y una verdad muy sencilla de comprender. Toda la verdad sobre los libros es absolutamente divertido y, aunque está indicado para niños de ocho años, creo que voy a regalarles varios de estos a algunos amigos. Aquellos fanáticos de las lecturas van a querer enseñarle a amar los libros a sus hijos (primos, sobrinos, vecinos desubicados, compañeros de escuela y novios analfabetos) y esta es la mejor forma de lograrlo.

Este libro es parte de la Colección Toda la verdad, tiene ilustraciones, colores y todo el texto escrito en imprenta mayúscula, algo muy importante, pues los niños que recién están empezando a leer solo comprenden este tipo de letra. El vocabulario no representará ningún desafío, pero igual es mejor leerlo en familia.

¿Recomendado para los niños que no quieren leer o aquellos a los que les gusta leer? ¡Para ambos! Este es un libro para compartir el placer de la lectura y es mucho más divertido si se lleva a la escuela para que otros lo miren también. ¿Les conté que hay un gato que recomienda el libro? Sí, hay pasajes que son super absurdos, o que exploran falacias interesantes, todo ello con el fin de convencer que la lectura es divertida. Y lo termina logrando.

Entre Toda la verdad sobre tus padres y Toda la verdad sobre los libros, se abre una preciosa y colorinche colección de libros ilustrados para los lectores más pequeños. Este en particular resulta ser un excelente regalo e influencia para los chiquitines.

This book has no cohesive flow at all. If I gave this to a reluctant reader, which I deduce is who this was created to attract, I don't think they would come back and ask for another book, in fact they may never want to read another book again if this is the best we have to offer. The book reads like someone sat down one day and scribbled out a few thoughts about books and then sent it on to the publisher without meditating on the point or purpose. Not a fan.

This was an impulse buy on the way to a birthday party and my daughter and I sat with our heads together sniggering at it the whole way there. When we arrived we had 3 pages left so we hid behind an ice bucket to finish them. As you can tell, it's a lot of fun but pretty disposable.
We also liked the free bookmark in the shape of a boy called Mark Page.

I’m confused about the intended audience for this book. It reads like it’s geared toward third or fourth grades - when kids are really switching from learning to read to reading to learn - but for a few things that really could have been swapped out for equally effective but less sexual comments.

I also don’t appreciate the inclusion of a “big chief head-dress” on the “you’re the boss page,” or the implication that “Sex practices of the Eskimos” is a bizarre book that should be laughed at. I realize this book was originally written in French and translated into British English, but using indigenous people’s culture for a quick laugh is called racism.

The long and short if it is that this book has many funny parts that might encourage a non-reader to keep reading it, but also has some questionable content and I don’t think I’ll be including this donation into our school’s library collection.

I've had this on my TBR pile for a while, after finding it during one of our pre-pandemic thrift store adventures, and decided to check it out today.

It's pretty much a book full of spiffy observations about books and reading. While some are really good, made me smile or nod along, and I could totally relate to... others are downright ridiculous and silly. 😳

And the drawings were average at best. LMAO.

Glad I read it, but it's not a keeper.

Досить цікава книжка для дітей +9 про те, як полюбити книжки. Уявіть, яка непередбачувана комбінація! А якщо серйозно, то своїм гумором французька авторка повеселить і малого, і дорослого читача. Я, наприклад, зробила фото зворотної обкладинки, де навис звучить приблизно так: "Ковтати багато книжок і не гладшати — це можливо".

Hồi be bé thấy cái gì màu mè là thích lắm. Cũng dễ thương nhưng vẫn phải nói là chả đọng được gì (trong dự đoán). Đọc lúc mình lười đọc sách, tính ra cũng 5 năm rồi nhưng tới giờ mới siêng đọc lại ớ. Bí kíp hiệu quả chậm tận 5 năm thì hơi rởm nhưng đọc chơi cũng vui.

Un petit album humoristique jeunesse rempli de blagues illustrées sur les livres et la lecture! Telle une Élise Gravel de la France, l'illustratrice sait comment amuser les jeunes (et les moins jeunes!), tout en les faisant réfléchir! Je peux vous confirmer qu'il est possible d'apprécier cette lecture même si on aime déjà les livres!

LES HAUTS : Des blagues amusantes et une belle mise en page en noir, blanc et fluo!

LES BAS : C'est un détail, me direz-vous, mais j'ai trouvé que la ponctuation faisait un peu défaut...
