**A MM Gay Wolf Shifter Mpreg Alpha Omega Romance**
Free Bonus Novel Included as a Special Gift
When Jonas runs from the lures of his alpha, he doesn't expect to run into the legendary sigma who defied their pack in the wild. Nor does he dare to imagine such a powerful wolf could possibly end up being his heart mate.
When his heating cycle has them answering the omega's call, neither wolf will be able to deny the baby to be born between them. Decisions are made, and lines are crossed. Neither one of their lives will every be the same.
Growing up, Wolf believed there was a ghost in his attic. To this day, he still believes that ghost creeps out of the shadows from time to time. He wishes it would say hello.
Wolf's stories explore the complicated, sensual bonds between men. There are always happy endings just as there is always a dash of otherworldly delight.
Logic is just not a thing in this universe. These characters act like perpetually drunk, exceedingly indecisive teenagers, and the Omegas all might as well be chicks with dicks. Not a single one acted like a guy, they were written in a stereotypical mold of the damsel in distress.
And it drove me insane how not a single character could make one decision and stick with it.
I was really disappointed in this work. It was definitely not up to Wolf's usual high standards. It actually felt like it had been written by someone else. The language was really stiff and stilted and the writing didn't really flow. The sex was kind of unsexy because of the old-fashioned and kind of weird names for things like "sword", "member", and "flower". The characters constantly waffled about what they were going to do--is he going to run away? now? tomorrow? Is Roran going to send him away? Now yes, now no. Most damaging to my enjoyment of the book though was the constant harping on the horrific abuse and sadism of Jonas' former alpha Locke. The point could have been made very simply and then been alluded to as something like "his cruelties" or "his punishments" rather than giving additional graphic examples of his sick behavior. I actually got close to the end and gave up reading because the story just had so many flaws like this that I was no longer invested in it. There are much better works by this author to read so I recommend selecting another to enjoy and passing this one by.
This review is for Rogue Breed specifically and not for the bonus story. I enjoy Wolf Specter a lot and find his stories to always have an interesting world that is unique. This book was a disappointment. The one thing that I found to be unique was the fact that this world only has alphas and omegas with nothing in between. But then there is Ronan who is always referred to as a sigma, even though that term is never explained, or defined.
Other than that one bit of world-building this book felt very generic. It could have been written by anyone with any characters and would have held the same interest for me. Honestly, this felt a lot like a fan-fic where I was supposed to already know who the characters were and how the rules of the world functioned.
If you are interested in a Wolf Specter book, I recommend his Ignite series, or really any other of his books.
I tried really hard not to laugh out loud when reading all the pet names for the word dick. This is one of the reasons I don't read this author stories as his writing seems to be written by an adolescent. Ah well its an ok read if you need something to pass the time but it's not going to be memorable.
Jonas the Omega decides to do a runner before his tyrannical, sadistic alpha can breed him on his first heat. He runs right into his childhood crush, would be alpha and exile Roran. Both fell into lust as alpha hunts them both but there is an HEA. I'm one of those people who always finishes a book. This was difficult. The writing was simplistic, the dialogue stilted, and the sex words, flower, nectar, garden, sword, etc just made me want to laugh or maybe cry at what should have been hot sex scenes. Will read bonus book in kindle version later. Why you ask? Because I finished "The Omega Contract" before picking this up, and it was so much better - better story line, more smoothly written, sweet but sexy - it's like the two books were penned by different people. Ok, finished the bonus book "The Omega Gift" -- still simplistic and repetitive in places, dialogue still stilted in places, but lots better. Evolution of a writer
This book could have been 3 or 4 stars if a good editor, or even a conscientious beta reader, had polished it. The writing is inconsistent, sometimes seeming like a fourth grader wrote it and other times displaying little flashes of descriptive color. There are some things about the workings of the pack that are explained repetitively, and others that could have been explained in more detail. For example, what rank is Sigma? It's never explained, nor is there any explanation of the process of becoming an Alpha and gaining Alpha powers. Even the characters and their motivations aren't portrayed consistently. It was also disappointing that the ending was somewhat hurried and trite. This is the fourth book I've read by this author, and all of them could benefit from better editing.
This is a short story with an added bonus story that I had already read, but, it was great. It begins with a horrible situation for a young omega, Jonas, who has been trying to dodge the unwelcomed advances from any wolf, especially his Alpha Wolf, Locke.
When Locke wants to claim Jonas, he runs which is terrifying for an omega that's close to their heat cycle.
Later another Alpha wolf, Roran, finds Jonas in his cave and everything changes for the two of them. Of course, I won't spoil the HEA story from here. It another wonderful romance Specter gives us and I enjoyed every minute reading it.
Two for one, a great deal. I enjoyed both stories. Rogue Breed was my favorite kind of shifter story. Jonas was a brave, independent omega who decided he wasn't just going to be some abused breeder. Roran I just loved, he was the perfect alpha. The Omegas Gift was just a fun little story to add as a bonus.
A wonderful story where good overconfident evil. True mates fight for the right to be together. List and love magic and courage all come together. A great boo!
