Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
Throughout both the series ALL the heroes are manwhores or at least extremely experienced whereas the heroine's are virgin. I wouldn't pay attention to it too much because it might be a choice of that person, however it was highlighted as a quality in the women and the heroes had proud moments when the found out they are the only one to "break them" or "break through their innocence" it was rather distasteful.
If I want to read the Virgin heroine vs manwhore/experienced hero trope HP seems like a wonderful choice without the weird paranormal vibes. You either wait for your fated mate, since all of these heroes believe in that, or you stop acting like you own the lottery when your mate is virgin!
The thing is all these shifters KNOW about their mates and they're waiting for the "one" and having some fun in between, aka sowing their old oats, so they can settle down without regrets.
It wouldn't bother me as celibacy is not normal, but since, they KNOW, it feels like a commitment so it feels almost like cheating to me. And add to that all the virgin heroines, how on earth is that fair or balanced?
I really didn't enjoy most of the books, I think I liked 3 books in total throughout both series!
At least in the next series "return to bear bluff" they do believe in mates but they're not active looking for them in that sense and all go on with their normal lives meaning when they find their mates they expect and accepted them to be experienced.
This series is very enjoyable once you get past all the virgins. I'm not sure why the women have to be virgins (even the non-shifter women are virgins). Other than this weirdness, the short books are enjoyable fluff.
Two complete series in one box set. Fated mates and shifters who are oh so sexy and only want to find their one to love over all others. Each book is a very quick read and super fast love. Good reads.
This is going to hard to review. You have a brand new Bear Bluff book and the two complete series of Bear Bluff, and Bear Creek. This is one of the reasons that Harmony Raines is an awesome writer and one my favorite authors. She knows how to appeal to her readers and how to grab their interest. I mean who wouldn't want the opportunity to read two whole bear series at one time. I've already read them all and I urge you all to read them as well. You will not be disappointed I promise. I am going to review Best Man Bear first.
BEST MAN BEAR: REVIEW Olivia is broken hearted when the man she thought she loved, Nate, fell in love with her best friend Chloe. After that Olivia decided she didn't need a man so she decided to swear off men for the time being. She is far too busy planning the wedding for Nate and Chloe to worry about some man in her life. Oh, did I mention that Olivia is also the maid of honor in this wedding? Planning this wedding was hard for Olivia but she did it. Olivia has no idea of the secret that her best friend Chloe and Nate are keeping from her. But Olivia love Chloe and she wants her to have the best wedding possible.
Olivia is on her way to Chloe and Nate's house when something white runs out in front of her. She stops thinking she hit an animal. Then someone is tapping on her window. Well so happens is is Joshua, Nate's best man. He had gotten lost so he said. So Olivia told him that she would give him a ride to Nate's she was headed that way. Now that the best man is here she is expected to work with him on the plans for the wedding, but she isn't sure at first just how take Joshua. So she has a trip to make so she can try to make Chloe's day special and she lets Joshua tag along with her. Was it a mistake? Time will tell.
Joshua is Nate's best friend, and a Polar Bear Shiftrer from Alaska. He has come to Bear Bluff to stand up for his best friend, Nate at his wedding. The one thing that Joshua did not expect to find on this trip was his mate. He sure did not expect it to the curvy maid of honor, and best friend to Chloe and Nate, Olivia. Just one hitch in this though, Olivia has no idea that shifters exist, not does she even know that her boss, Sheriff Declan is a shifter. Joshua tries to lead into a relationship with her gradually and is hoping that the shock of him being a Polar Bear shifter won't scare her off. But will Olivia accept that there are shifters and give Joshua the benefit of the doubt? Or will she run for the hills? Read this awesome book and find out. You don't want to miss it.

Wonderful large selection of Harmony Raines Bear novellas
You always dream of reading all the books in a selection at one time enough here it is. Sexy alpha bears finding their fated mates. Each story short enough to read before bed, after lunch or just when you need a happy ending. Adult reader due sexual content.
Although there were good story ideas and plots, the execution of these were just really rushed through. (Yes, I'm more than aware that shifter romances are fast paced, but there is a difference between that and rushed and these were rushed. Not only rushed, but I felt many of the events were pushed through to fast or ended too early). I think had the stories and characters been giving a bit more time/pages to develop, it'd have been closer to a 4 star rating for me.
One thing that did bug me about the series was the fact that the shifters in this world not only seemed immortal/extremely long lived, but that procreation for the species seemed also unhindered. If this were the case, than by present day we should be seeing massive shifter populations to the point they would outnumber the (full) human race. Which would make living in secret a bit silly.
Most shifter series/worlds either have shifters living normal life spans and able to procreate either normally or hindered; or have shifters live long lives/be immortal but procreation is rare.
Also, I really didn't like how the author simply put forth the rite that allowed humans to also live long lives. With the inclusion of that, I think a lot of people (government, media, etc) would have noticed shifters and outed them long ago because there is no way you can have that many people living so long go unnoticed. But the rite itself is never really explained. It's mentioned a few times in half the stories but if there is this magic rite, then shouldn't other spell casting and such be just as part of the shifter culture?
Either way, it's an easy read but not one I would recommend buying. I got this free through Kindle Unlimited. If you have it then definitely give it a go and see how it goes you.
I love bear shifter reads. I was excited for this box set, but there were just a few too many content story issues and editing errors. By book two I had given up. That said, the storyline's and world the author created were actually very good. I feel it really needs another edit run by someone skilled. This was a rare leisure read for me and I didn't want to work TRYING to understand what was meant as opposed to what I was actually reading. But... If you're not an edit snob (like I am being), and you enjoy strong shifter males, this may be a good snag to fill a weekend if its Free or maybe even $0.99.
Great way to read 2 series in order at a super price!
This compilation has 13 stories from the Bear Creek and the Bear Bluff series in chronological order. This is great for anyone discovering Harmony Raines and trying to catch up, like me! The stories are very character oriented with a little action in some, but most of it is getting to know each other with all their secrets. Each story has a different situation, so you are satisfied by each one. It's a good thing my vacation just started, as I just read them all in 2 days!! Great shifter romance with some steamy scenes, super characters and some laughter. What more could you want? Try it yourself and see. Enjoy!
Thirteen quick, well written stories all in one box set. Each story is connected to the next story in some way, be it via a family member or friend and each come's with it's own HEA, but it's the journey towards each HEA that will keep you highly entertained throughout. This isn't the first box set of Ms Harmony Raines that I've read and it certainly won't be the last. I'm loving her Bears, and the many characters portrayed within the small townships of Bear Creek and Bear Bluff. Recommended for the more matured audience only. 18+
I loves both sets!! It was amazing how everyone found their fated mates and then how they showed their mates or explained to them what they were. I can't believe how amazing each story was! It never failed to have a H.E.A. and all the human females all excepted their shifter males for who they were. It would be nice if things were that way in life ! Anyone who is seeing this please read these book sets they are super awesome ! You won't regret it.
The books are a fun bit of fluff and you’re always guaranteed a HEA.
But Harmony Raines really needs much better proofreaders. So many inconsistencies in the stories. . For example, in one story, one of the MC‘s had 6 brothers and then he had 5. In another story one of the characters was the older sister and then she was the younger sister. Then the description of another character‘s hair color changed.
And sometimes the consistencies aren’t even within the same book, because they’re all interconnected, the details change from one book to another
I gave this box set a rating of 5 because I loved it . The male bears shifters had to find a way to win over the heart of their mate. They each ran into different challenges . I like that all the female that get mated in this series are curvy . It shows that you can be loved no matter how you look. I recommend this box set to anyone that loves shifters.
This is not the series sets but something else with the same people in both towns there is another 6 Book series for Bear Creek. There all well written enjoyable books to get into. There fast reading short stories from both towns. I enjoyed this author very much and recommend others too read her books. There a very fun read an I could really get into the book. I'm going to buy the rest of these series.
Lovely and easy read with no major conflicts. Olivia is a human helping her best friend organise her wedding to the man she had been interested in the past. Joshua is a polar bear shifter and best man of the wedding. The last thing he was expecting when leaving Alaska was to come face to face with his fated mate, Olivia, maid of honour of his best mate. Highly recommended
This is a massive collection of shifters and their mates and the challenges encountered. Many of these stories are interwoven, so you can find out more about previously encountered loved one characters. Harmony Raines develop characters you want to hug, to laugh with, and thunk on the back of the head (every so often). Bravo !! I have multiple collections of stories by Harmony Raines and am looking forward to reading many, many more.
I love the booklet series. It flows well from one book to the next book. The only issues I had that lowered my score was sentenced with words left out, the wrong names were used at times, and it seemed the exact same paragraphs and descriptions were used to describe the bears and love scenes. It seemed maybe part was due to translation.
Fated and mated, for shifters once you see your fated mate you are destined to be together for life. Sometimes if your mate is also a shifter it is a little easier, unless you're afraid of the bond. But when a shifter is fated to a human, it can be a little trickier. For a human, learning she is destined to be mated with a bear can be a little scary.
I loved that I could just keep reading this is a great way to get 2 series at once at at a great price. The stories are absolutely awesome loved each and every one of them. Strong sexy males and females that don't have any idea of what is in-store for them. This is a great way to buy two series at one time.
The complete collection of the Bear Creek and Bear Bluff series was wonderful to read. It was fun to read the stories in order! It was great to have all of the romances at hand and not have to wait to acquire the next story! I highly recommend this collection!
Decent stories, but it got to where they all had the same overview. Yeah the names were different and a few details, but it was like reading the same story over with each one. Maybe that was the point but I do. Maybe if they had been longer with more details into the characters instead of each one being a new pair of people doing the same thing.
I liked this story as I adore all shifters. It was a joy to read Jared and Kelly's story when he discovered she was his mate, but she was human, and his bear did not care. The two had similar backgrounds as both fathers left their wives penniless. I think that this book is part of a set as I could not find it anywhere and I was frustrated.
I am reviewing the Return to Bear Creek (6 stories) and Return to Bear Bluff (7 stories) boxed set that has the complete series for both. I’m always amazed that authors can write about the same thing but are able to make each story unique. Some of the stories have strong women, which I love.
I really enjoyed all the stories in these sets. Even knowing that they will be happily ever after, the journey was exciting. Definitely will read them again. Also will be reading other books by this author.
I have thoughly enjoyed reading this box set. The trials and tribulations each couple had to go through were life changing. Some were dangerous but also some amusing parts. Definitely worth a read. Thank you so much.
