Reading this book in 2023 still makes you feel like you're reading about the future. As I was reading it, it was hard to come to terms with this book being written 21 years ago. The technology has been around for decades and a small number of people know anything about it. Great read to get introduced to nanotechnology.

I gave this book 3 stars because it is exactly like its title: A gentle introduction to the Next Big Idea, and it is exactly what I can like but never really like. Fairly speaking, if you want to read something to have an overview about current technology, this is a decent choice, 4 stars and a half maybe. Compared to Understanding Nanotechnology of Scientific American, this book is much clearer without losing much technical insights.

Highly recommend this book if you want a quick, lightly-reading overview of nanotechnology.

كتاب علمي حول تكنولوجيا النانو القادمة بقوة في السنوات القادمة
الكتاب مترجم إلى العربية سنة 2011 ، لكن تأليف الكتاب كان في سنة 2003 وهذا ما قد يجعل المعلومات قديمة بعض الشيء وهذا أمر مهم في الجوانب العلمية التي تتطور بشكل مطرد وبوتيرة سريعة جداً
الكتاب مع أنه مقدمة ، لكنه متخصص ويحتوي الكثير على المصطلحات العلمية المملة أحياناً ( وخاصة التعريب الممل وغير المفهوم في كثير من الأحيان )
عموماً المعلومات شيقة ومفيدة للمهتمين في هذه التكنولوجيا الجديدة

dreadful. one can literally fall asleep reading this while walking. at night, its presence makes owls fall from trees.
