When Renaldo Mateo loses his wife, Andrica, in a mining accident, to keep his lucrative job and remain on Asteroid 4239, he takes advantage of the clause in The Company's employment contract. It allows him to claim Cecily, the woman he really loves, as his wife. The She's already married—to his younger brother Billy.
Two handsome, sexy brothers and the woman caught between them. Taking sibling rivalry to a whole 'nother level.
Zena Wynn is a multi-published author of erotic and sensual romance in various romance subgenres: Interracial, Contemporary, Paranormal, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Inspirational. She writes the type of stories she loves to read—stories with great characters who, through love and determination, overcome all the challenges that come their way. Her heroes and heroines are passionately, lovingly, devoted to each other. Zena wants her characters to stick with readers long after “The End.”
Description: Cecily marries Billy, but is forced by his company to also take Billy’s brother Renardo as a husband and lover after Renardo’s wife dies. Drama.
The Good: Ms. Wynn takes a complex situation and makes it surprisingly simple and extremely hot. The reader feels for her main character, who really put in a tug-of-war situation. Though the drama is plentiful it also feels organic and earned. Also, I loved that the main characters are working class. And Ms. Wynn’s world building is so seamless, I kept forgetting that this was technically a sci-fi romance. She never let the world building overshadow the story.
The Bad: The emotional arc is well-plotted and earned, but it doesn’t necessarily feel like the sexual arc is fully resolved. Also, the cover is somewhat baffling. Not sure what, if anything, it has to do with the actual story.
The Naughty: Erotic. Multiple partners.
Editing issues: 3 typos. Dialogue weirdly formatted on Kindle app.
Like some of the story, except it felt like the brother didn't love his first wife at all. He wanted Cicily only because she wasn't his. Felt sorry for the brother, felt like Cicely loved Renaldo and never Billy.
Sorry, but I didn’t like this story. Nardo was foul for what he did. Only at the end did he even seem to care that he was hurting his brother. Before his brother saved him he didn’t care. He even admitted that he would not have saved him had the roles been reversed.
Cecily was selfish and clearly loved Nardo more. The way she described sex with him as indescribable and how he was the fire of her soul. He tried to leave at the end and she didn’t want him to because she loved him. She loved his sex. She lectured Billy on needing to just deal with everything versus lecturing Nardo for betraying his brother because she was the lucky recipient of two virile males. She didn’t care how Billy felt even after he explained why things were so hard for him to accept. I wish he would have left. I like her books but this was a hard no for me. It’s one thing when everyone is consenting. It’s another when your partner is hurting and you refuse to care because you’re being served. Hard pass!
A sweet, short story that stars off with a bang! The Contract is a sci-fi romance about Cecily and two brothers, Billy & Nardo. When she married Billy, she also signed a contract with his company. One of the clauses stipulates that Nardo can also claim Cecily as his wife. The impossible has happened and three friends must figure out a way to live the fallout. I loved Nardo, I felt for Billy and thought Cecily dealt with the whole thing better than most. Quick & fun.
I enjoyed this book about 2 brothers who are miners on an asteroid who end up sharing the same wife because of company policy. It was interesting and sexy, with a happy ending.
