I liked that the zombies are such a problem and there’s 3 kinds now, with hive-like communication and control. The US army isn’t ready for this! What a mess! Ash is still the main focus but we also get some new viewpoints like Maria and the people she ends up fighting with on the front lines.

Once again, the ladies are romantic interests and for the most part need protection and reassurance. For the series, the ladies are pretty interchangeable. Ash hooks up with his neighbor, Rachel, who is recently divorced. He really didn’t like her in the previous book and doesn’t seem to like her in this one until they wind up drunk in bed together. Tis ridiculous. Anyway, she gets fridged and that spurs Ash on to great heroics (which is pretty cliche).

I did like Ash’s big hunt and final personal battle. They have a nifty cure for being bitten now. Sometimes it’s called a vaccine and sometimes anti-venom, etc. My inner biologist cringes at the lack of precision or at least consistency in medical terms. 4/5 stars

Narration: Andrew B. Wehrlen’s pacing is still a little slow. Words are clear. The women sound like women for the most part. Good voice for Ash. Maria’s Cubano accent came and went and wasn’t very good. A few mispronounced words like ‘lithe’. No tech issues. 4/5 stars

I received a free copy of this book. My opinions are 100% my own.

The wall and nuclear weapons were not enough to stop the undead. They found a way out and are overtaking the east coast of the United States. Their newfound ability to travel underwater has literally opened the entire planet to their threat. The Abrams tanks have been brought in to form a wall of lead against the invaders in one more effort to control the spread. Our former SEAL and ex-CIA Operator Asher Hawke is still on the job. After several heart-breaking experiences, he now plans a one-way mission back into Washington, Dead City to eliminate the type one zombie commanding the hoard. Will we be able to stop the advance of the undead hoard? In retrospection; every time I read one of these apocalyptic stories I am shocked and angered at the atrocities that human beings will impose on others. I am afraid this will all be too true should a disaster such as this come upon us. The only recourse will be to defend yourself and get to some sort of safety as soon as possible. I think numbers, firepower, and fortification will be the early priorities. Afterward, water, food, and ammunition will be secondary. I hope none of us ever have to experience anything similar to these stories. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

"You will never be forgotten."
The final conclusion to the Brian Parker zombie trilogy, again read by Andrew B.Wahrlen.
The zombies had escaped beyond the wall and were being marshalled by the strange and competent firsts, including the Leader and the Master of the Chosen. With nothing seemingly able to stop them, and with their newly acquired ability to travel through water, the hordes are increasing and expanding rapidly across the Americas whilst the rest of the world now deliberately shuns the continent.

As in the previous books, the action moves between different locations and individuals, some new and some met before, as they face up to their futures, probable deaths, their consciences and the loss of loved ones. Very well written and perfectly performed, fast paced and innovative, this is a book for every zombie genre reader.

What an epic conclusion to this unique zombie story! Since this genre has become so popular, it is often hard to find books that have that little something special and unique. Brian Parker has definitely done that with this series.

After one zombie war, the United States is again facing decimation from the zombie hordes. Everyone thought that the zombies had been contained behind a wall surrounding Washington, DC. Then, a nuclear attack was supposed to have taken care of them. However, soon zombies start appearing in Philadelphia and other areas. Some have even made it to the Gulf of Mexico by water. Is there anything that can stop them?

This book follows several paths and alternate viewpoints of the fight against the zombies. A National Guard unit from New York is at the forefront of the fight and the story follows one of the leaders as they try to destroy the horde. Another group of survivors has been recruited to fight and the book details two as they fight to reach the man's daughter.

Then, we have retired CIA Operative Asher Hawke, AKA the Kestrel, as he attempts to find and kill the Master of the Zombies and revenge the deaths of those he loved.

There is plenty of zombie killing action, the obligatory villains (with graphic torture descriptions) and more as these characters try to save the world as they know it. I shed a few tears along the way as beloved characters met their untimely deaths.

The narrator, Andrew Wehrlen, did a great job and added a lot to my enjoyment of this book and the whole series. I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author/publisher/narrator and chose to review it.

I was so excited when the third and finally book came out in this series, but also sad as it was the final book!

It’s all on like Donkey Kong in book 3, We meet some more pockets of people struggling to survive in the mayhem, there are some great strong people within the groups who are driven to keep fighting against evil, as well as those who are destine to meet a grisly end! The Master continues to have its few Leaders left direct the mindless undead followers from town to town to kill and make more followers in its quest to wipe out the human race. In the meantime Asher Hawke, AKA the Kestrel decides he has had enough of his nation and countrymen dying and is determined to wipe out The Master who is behind the latest attacks one way or another.

There are great moments of heroism as well as loss, friendships and survival, this book has it all and does not disappoint. The end is really well done and feel it ties everything up in a natural way.

This is the last book in the trilogy and while sad to see it end, it was a satisfying finish to the awesome series. This book picks up from the second with recurring characters and some great additional characters added to the mix. The undead are now heading to New York and the coast of the US to carry on their plan of decimating the human population. This book will put you through the whole gambit of emotions. I laughed, cried and held my breathe in many places while reading this book. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who loves the horror/military genre.
