Mange mennesker flygter fra stærke følelser eller lader dem styre deres adfærd. Men evnen til at håndtere stærke følelser er nødvendig for at kunne bevare en vis stabilitet livet igennem. Det kan være svært at forstå, hvor følelserne præcist kommer fra, hvad de betyder, og hvordan man håndterer dem.

So the authour of this book is a psychologist working in the psychiatric field, and I attended a lecture he was giving where he mentioned this book (and others) that he’d written or co-written. Listening to the lecture and the examples he was giving I got interested in learning more from this guy and the experience he has, so I checked out this and other of his books.
The book gives a short introduction to some of the most troubling and difficult emotions and how to process, investigate and deal with them. It’s a short book and I was left wishing it had been longer and gone more in-depth, as this book covered things very generally, it I supposed that was also the aim. It was useful, sure, it just could have been even more useful, I think, had it been more extensive. But a good place to start, and then from there, one can always continue the read with other and more material on emotions and coping with them, elsewhere.

Det er alle følelserne, som bliver gennemgået (fra at kunne sortere ens tanker generelt, under vrede og angst, samt omfavne kærlighed og glæde) og hvordan man håndterer disse i forskellige situationer. Det er simple ting, men alligevel går det op for en, "Nå ja, det giver god mening at gøre sådan."
