Six Dark Tales. Six Sensual Stories. Six Page Turners.
WICKED WOLF: Gina Eaton has always known fate can be tricky, but when she finds the one man that could be her mate, she might throw caution to the wind. Quinn Weston puts his whole being into two things: the safety of his Pack and his son. When the two Alphas put Gina and Quinn together to find a way to ensure their treaties remain strong, fate has a plan of its own.
WHEN IRISH EYES ARE HAUNTING: Devin Lyle and Craig Rockwell are back, this time to a haunted castle in Ireland where a banshee may have gone wild—or maybe there's a much more rational explanation—one that involves a disgruntled heir, murder, and mayhem.
EASY WITH YOU: With a murderer terrorizing the Tulane University campus, Asher Smith finds himself toe-to-toe with the one woman that haunts his dreams. Lila Bailey has fought for every good thing in her life during every day of her thirty-one years. Aside from that one night with an impossible to deny stranger a year ago, Lila is the epitome of responsible. When some of her female students are viciously murdered, Lila’s shaken to the core. But when Lila becomes the target, can Asher save her in time?
MASTER OF FREEDOM: Detective Atticus Ware needs a woman to give her heart as well as her body. When Virginia Cunningham is invited to observe BDSM classes on a wilderness camping trip, she’s shocked—her fiancé had insisted BDSM was a fabrication to sell books. But when Atticus lures her into participating, she learns submission under the hands of a powerful Dom is beyond anything she’d imagined.
LIVE WITHOUT REGRET: L.O.V.E. How can those four letters cause so much pain? Everyone talks about how great love is, with all the flowers and the butterflies, but that wasn’t my experience at all. Love wasn’t something I wanted or even needed. But then Connor Jackson came into my life.
OFF LIMITS: According to the bro code, enacted by Evan Sparks and Logan Grady years ago, sisters are out. However, Lacy Sparks isn’t about to let a silly boyhood pact stand between her and the man she’s wanted for nearly twenty years. She’s waited long enough. Logan thinks she’s too sweet to give him what he needs. He’s about to learn as far as Lacy’s concerned, in bed or out, nothing is off-limits.
Review:
CARRIE ANN RYAN - WICKED WOLF : 4.5 STARS OUT OF 5/ 4 FLAMES OUT OF 5 => I've read a few of Carrie Ann Ryan's Montgomery Ink series, and having the opportunity to explore her Redwood Pack series was such a thrill. It had everything you would have expected in a paranormal novel - the shifting, the magic and the creation of a new world within the one we now live in, but all written in such a way that i was able to picture myself in their world. There were so many ups and downs that I wondered if I'd be able to make it through the book - one moment you're grieving with Quinn at the loss of his mate as she walked away from everything that should have been important for her; the next you're enthralled by the action, completely spellbound as you follow all the different plot twists that you wouldn't have expected, keeping you on the edge of your seat, hoping that the Alpha pack leaders haven't made a mistake. At another moment, you're fanning yourself as Quinn and Gia's relationship got stronger and the chemistry so palpable, you'd swear that you were the proverbial fly on the wall! Added to the 1001 Dark Nights series, Carrie Ann Ryan's Wicked Wolf was perfect!
HEATHER GRAHAM - WHEN IRISH EYES ARE HAUNTING : 4 STARS OUT OF 5/ 3.5 FLAMES OUT OF 5 => Being the second novel from Heather Graham from her Krewe of Hunters series that I've had the chance to read from the 1001 Dark Nights series and I have to come out and say it: Bravo! Bravo! More!! Even though it was cut short for a few things, for example, the length and for those who constantly look for the 'bad guy', I must say that I was hooked from beginning to end. To be able to read an M/M from Heather Graham, which I have not, nor did I know that she did write in this genre, was simply a treat I could read again every so often when I'd need a novel that would satisfy my craving for a murder/mystery with that little paranormal twist. As a newly married couple, Devin and Craig are called to Ireland to get rid of some ghosts at Devin's cousin's Kell's uncle's chateau [that was a mouthful]. Set in a beautiful area, I could swear I was in the hills behind the castle, Heather Graham's When Irish Eyes Are Haunting was the type of novel I enjoyed and wished I could have learned more about the couple and experience their amazing journey up to their wedding.
KRISTEN PROBY - EASY WITH YOU : 4 STARS OUT OF 5/ 4 FLAMES OUT OF 5 => I've never had the opportunity to read a novel written by Kristen Proby, and I was floored to meet Lila, Asher and his daughter, Casey. What surprised me most was the fact Easy With You is a murder mystery with the added bonus of sexiness I couldn't resist. Still grieving the loss of his wife, Asher, a detective, and his daughter move to the city, where professor at the Tulane University, Lila teaches. Following a string of murders at the university, Asher is put on the case, where the next target becomes Lila - the woman he had met and slept with 9 months ago. Another great addition to the 1001 Dark Nights series, Kristen Proby's Easy With You was an edge of my seat and nail biting novel that kept me wanting more from both Asher and Lila as they rekindled their relationship. As part of a series, it didn't feel as though much was missed, however, I would have liked, if there was a previous book about Asher and Lila, to have visited and experience their first meeting.
CHERISE SINCLAIR - MASTER OF FREEDOM : 4 STARS OUT OF 5/ 4 FLAMES OUT OF 5 => You'd think that as a police officer, Atticus would have had already found his happily ever after. In Master of Freedom, Cherise Sinclair has proven to me that even the 'good' guys don't want the cookie cutter woman by his side, but the woman who will be by his side and be his equal - that she's his sub is the cherry on the sundae. Gin is a psychologist at the prison where Atticus' brother is being held and when the two meet during a BDSM event, sparks fly, as do tempers when they try to determine their roles in each other's lives. This is the first novel I've read from Cherise Sinclair and the first time I've heard about the Mountain Masters and Dark Haven series and I must admit that I enjoyed the 'voyage' with the characters. From the moment they meet to the time they admit their feelings for one another, this was an amazing and sensual addition to the 1001 Dark Nights series that only made me want to go grab the rest of the books.
K.L. GRAYSON - LIVE WITHOUT REGRET: L.O.V.E.: 4 STARS OUT OF 5/ 4 FLAMES OUT OF 5 => This was my first novel read from K.L. Grayson and I was touched - I knew the pain of love and its joy, the need and the denial, and most of all, I remember meeting it, losing it and finding it. Live Without Regret was the book that made me believe in second chances and second loves when Brittany picks up the broken pieces left behind from her previous relationship and vows that her heart will stay under lock and key. That is of course, until she meets Connor - a man looking for more than one night, patient and will stop at nothing to prove that he's in it for the long haul. Their relationship gave me the 'oh my gawds', the 'awwwws', and the 'phew' as things heated up and Brittany finally realized that the past isn't the future. As a novel added to the 1001 Dark Nights series, Live Without Regret by K.L. Grayson was a great addition.
MARI CARR - OFF LIMITS : 4 STARS OUT OF 5/ 4 FLAMES OUT OF 5 => I am increasingly curious to find out just how many male friends still follow the 'bro code'. It's not something I haven't heard of before - heck, many teen friendships make sure that the no touching the sister rule is clear and precise, but how long does it last? That is the question that I asked myself while I read Mari Carr's Off Limit. For years Logan and Lacy have had feelings for one another but the code kept him from making a more and then his belief that she was simply too 'sweet and gentle' to handle the rougher nature of his desires. It doesn't take Lacy long to grab the bull by the horns and prove to him that she is more than able to be his equal and not the little girl that is his best friend's sister. Part of the Sparks in Texas series, this novel had a little bit of everything: the love of sweethearts, the love of dominants and the love of passion and it was a trio that worked well together as Mari Carr took her readers on a journey on how Logan and Lacy fell in love.
****
The fourth bundle of the 1001 Dark Nights series was a blend of so many genres that there wasn't any time or chances for me to find the 'boring' or uneventful or even think that the stories themselves were time consuming since they were novella lengths - roughly 100 pages or so each. Its variety made it entirely worth the read!

Wicked Wolf by Carrie Ann Ryan 3 StarsSo this was interesting. I haven't read the previous series ( Redwood Pack ) this bridges through, but I have read the first couple books in the next series ( Talon Pack ), so there was some knowledge going on here. I liked watching Gina and Quinn get to know each other. Yes, this was a novella, so stuff was super compressed, but it was still interesting. Gina realized what she wanted from the beginning and then when things came to light, and she knew (thought) things wouldn't be exactly what she'd wanted, she still was willing to try for Jesse. Shannon still rubs me wrong and I barely remembered her from my reading of the Talon Pack books. I did like the way Gina handled that little interaction though, and how she took care of Helena.
When Irish Eyes Are Haunting by Heather Gramham 3 StarsI liked the setting of the castle. Liked the way Devin and Rocky worked together. Kind of want to read their story and see how they came about though. I liked how Devin clearly cared for her family and the way Rocky just kind of absorbed himself into it. I kind of saw the bad guy coming, although I will admit to being a little surprised at the connection.
Easy with You by Kristen Proby 4 StarsI actually really liked this one. The way Asher and Lila hit it off was awesome and I really liked their chemistry. I kind of wanted to laugh at things when they met back up in New Orleans. I loved the way Asher cared for her, granted there was the notes but at the same time he still liked her. I loved how Lila took so well to Casey.
Master of Freedom by Cherise Sinclair 3 StarsThis was interesting. I liked the relationship between Atticus and Gin even though they had a bit of a bumpy start. I did want to smack Atticus for making a snap judgement, but I kind of liked that everyone else managed to do it themselves. On the one hand, I also wanted to smack Logan for being an ass to Gin, yet I could see that anger. I really wanted to smack Gin for walking away; she also made assumptions although I will admit hers were based a little more on a warped view of some things. I liked the way she thought things through when things happened at the prison; she knew things were coming and she also knew Atticus was looking for her. She didn't exactly resign herself to things, but she didn't go quietly either. I loved how she was with Trigger too.
Live Without Regret by K.L. Grayson 3 StarsThis one would have honestly been a 4* for me, but I got annoyed with Brittany. I saw the issue with Logan coming from a mile away (although I will admit to thinking it was more of an ex of Brittany's) and I kind of hated that she made all sorts of assumptions about things and then ran without giving Cooper a chance. I liked that Casey, then Logan, put Brittany in her place. And even Cooper to an extent. I will admit to really liking Cooper though; he was kind of sweet how he was trying to learn about Brittany.
Off Limits by Mari Carr 4 StarsThis was really sweet. I liked how Lacy realized what she wanted, and finally told Logan she was basically done tiptoeing around. She definitely spun things in their world. I did think Logan's clinging to the "bro code" was kind of stupid; although I could see it since he was scared of revealing things and having Lacy run away. I did laugh when Evan punched him though. You kind of had to see it coming and there's part of me that thought the way it happened was actually funny/sweet and another part of me kind of wanted to have something happen at the BBQ place. Like Macie making a comment that just threw that door wide open or something.
