This book wasn't what I was expecting, instead of 1 story, it was a lot of short stories. When I saw that,I didn't even start reading it, very misleading :(
This was a very good little story about a Marine, Luke, who was in the service for the past four years. He comes home to his quite little town. Finds his high school love, Serena. They chat and agree to go out on a date to catch up and chat some more. Luke like most of our heroes who have come home is broken. He was injured in the war, and he is also learning to live with PTSD. Luke needs to find his balance within himself and the outside world. Serena seems like a wonderful young woman who is concerned about Luke.
The story doesn't say if they wrote letters back and forth while he was deployed, we don't talk about when he came back if he contacted her right away. This novella has the start of a good book to be. Tie up some loose ends and I think it would be an excentl book.
