Alison Holman has been assigned to enforce the new laws around Damon’s mountains, but a chance meeting in the woods with rip-roaring, chest-beating, musclebound gorilla shifter, Kirk Slater, and she’s questioning everything. The Boarlanders aren’t what she thought, and the more Kirk shows her his world, the more the line between humans and shifters is blurred. She’ll have to let her heart decide where her loyalties lie, because suddenly, the job she was sent here to do doesn’t make sense anymore. And one of those illegal claiming marks from the man she loves is becoming mighty tempting.

He has everything figured out until he meets Alison, the beautiful undercover cop with a tough, tatted up exterior and a serious soft side that has his gorilla roaring to be with her. Now Kirk has to figure out if he can trust her and fast…because the biggest threat to Damon’s mountains might just be the woman who has stolen his heart.

Contains spoilers!

3.5 stars! So I ended up enjoying this one. At first I didn't think I was. only because hero was kind of a jerk and tried pushing herione away more than once . It wasn't long and it wasn't bad. He was just scared. They both are broken people and I found that they fit well together:) I loved them both! Sweet, sexy, pretty low angst read! There were some sweet parts that I just loved! Oh but Bash I love him he is my number one still !He was even more sweet and hilarious here! I did feel like the drama with the government was a bit rushed. I also wanted a epilogue:) I'm curious about Kong's book. I just hope we dont see Kirk with ow. I want to read Mason's book which is next in this series but I'm hesitant because heroine was married before:/

Safety :
Neither are virgins. Their past isn't mentioned much. We only know sex was never like it is between both of them. Neither ever loved. Kirk (hero) said he only had sex several times. So he wasn't a manwhore. I don't know if condoms were used before. They don't use any heroine is on the pill. I think they always did though. One thing that might bother some is heroine is an undercover cop. She was undercover for 2 years . her job was cutting up drugs etc.. She had to do that for 2 years naked. So everyone saw her like that. That is part of why she is being broken. Her parnter would see her and protect her from others looking like they wanted to hurt her. She then started to feel something for him . It's nothing to be concerned About though. He was killed in front of her and the man who did it took her to a room and was going to rape her and even though she was told to do whatever it took to not blow her cover she couldn't let the man that killed her parnter have her so she was force to kill him. Which is one other reason she is broken. Other than all that it's a safe read!

sadly, this was probably my least favorite in the series so far. Perhaps because I had high hopes for this one? It was still a decent shifter romance but the relationship between the hero and heroine didn't feel realistic or developed enough for me. I'm glad it was offered as a kindleunlimited. Even though this wasn't a favorite of mine I will still without a doubt continue this series.

So damn awesome

Every time I read a new book of Miss Joyce's .. I am awed by her writing talent and her story telling skills and her creativity and imagination . None of her books are alike .. they all tell different stories about her characters and their mates. I am honestly floored by all her books. I stay up all night to finish reading each time a new one is released. And every time a new series begins .. it's so hard to not get emotionally invested with the characters. I am dying for Clinton to get his HEA. And since the next story up is Mason's.. I see miss Joyce is leaving the Clinton for the last. The most broken Boarlander who needs love and a mate to heal the most , I feel, and we have to wait. Lol.
If you haven't read any of Miss Joyce's books, start from the beginning. You'll understand the other characters a lot more. For those of us who have been reading .. this book is epic. Kirk, who we last saw a lot of, in Kong's book gets his own mate and HEA. Story is well written, chemistry is palpable and it's such an enjoyable read. Humour, wit .. Love! Please never stop writing,Miss Joyce ..

Finally!!!!!

Finally!!!!!!!
This was one of the most complete stories I’ve ever read from Ms.Joyce.
And I say,
Thank You❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thank you soo much .
I enjoyed Alison and Kirk a lot.
I can’t say their my favorite. I mean come on ,Bash bear.
Dear lord, has a sweeter character ever been created ?
That guy is soo damn lovable and sweet,I to heck I had a friend like him in my life. I feel like no matter the day you’ve had Bash could find some way to make you laugh again . Accidentally or on purpose. The word “sweetheart “ was created for ppl like him,
No, while Kirk and Alison’s”insta love” didn’t completely make sense,it was a 100% better in my book than most of them have been.
What makes their story one of the best ,to me is it’s one of the most complete stories I’ve read by Ms.Joyce.
This story has more of a : beginning, middle and end than most of her stories do it seems.
Far too many have barely begun before there’s racing for then ending . Too often it’s in such a rush you either don’t get a chance to really connect with the characters or you’ve only really started to get attached and you see it short cutting things and getting ready to cut to the end.
For some reason that wasn’t don’t this time . I’m not sure why Kirk and Alison were given ski much more when most others in these series have not.
And while I will admit I still feel a bit grudgey for all the couples I liked and had their stories cut off too soon ,I’m very grateful this was not.
Thank You again Ms. Joyce for giving this couple a more rich and complex story .
Thank you for all the time they were given. Please know it was appreciated ❣️
I hope they have lots of lil gorilla babies fen though none have been mentioned/listed and I wish Alison could have been a gorilla too.
Coz
Why not ?
Being @ shifter works be awesome !

I wasn’t completely sure how I was going to feel about Kirk given his history with another of my beloved silverbacks, Kong. But I gave him the chance to work his shifter magic on me, and I was very glad that I gave him that second chance. We’ve met Alison before, and at that time I felt she would make a good mate for one of this crew for she fits right in with their personalities and back stories in so many ways.

The attraction that Alison and Kirk are feeling is happening at probably the worst time for there is new danger from an old foe brewing. And not everything is as it appears in Damon’s Mountains. Be prepared for a few twists, which always come at exactly the right time. I have such affection for all of these crews, so when people from earlier in this journey show up to lend a hand during a crisis moment I’m always grateful for a few moments with old friends.

Alison and Kirk work. She is so much more than she first appears, her story is just as broken in many ways as the other members of this crew. She probably needs this crew as much as they, and Kirk, need her on their side.

I would highly recommend Boarlander Silverback for any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. You’ll find an interesting couple, sexy moments, a thrilling plot and secondary characters to truly care about… hard to ask for much more from a series.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

I found this one to be interesting mostly due to Allison and how we initially meet her in the last book. She's on Damon's mountain as some sort of law enforcement, but helped out Emerson and Bash in a sneaky way, so you knew she was pro-shifter or at least didn't hate them.

I liked that she was paired up with Kirk, who has been a bit of a lone horse so far. He seemed to be trying to redeem himself for his behavior when he was with Kong.

While this one started out rocky for the couple, quickly things were sorted out between them and all of the Boarlanders were happy to welcome Ally. Towards the end there were a couple of odd things. A huge fight between Kong and Kirk, one where Kirk had to fight for his right to stay a Boarlander and not be part of Kong's family group. While the fight was brutal, it wasn't as bad as it seemed due to a few words Ally was able to say to Kong prior.

The last odd things was how an old foe came back and they were playing for keeps. I was glad that Ally was smart and with help was able to put play them and firmly gather support for all shifters, hopefully they will get back the rights they lost soon.

I wasn't excited to read about Kirk since I found him to be an a$$ in most of Kong's book. As I read page after page, Kirk and Ally's story became something I couldn't put down. It was written with so emotion that it literally jumped off the pages. Their story was written beautifully. Best book in the series so far.

Awesome storyline!

This story was a little different. A lot of sacrifice on the characters part by exposing the darkest parts of their inner self, self sacrifice and salvation by the love of friends, family and their mates. Plus who doesn’t want to be best friends with a white tiger!

Choices!!!

Alison Holman was introduced to us in the previous book, she's a cop that was send to enforce the new laws around Damon's mountains. She was also the one that helped the shifters out unknown to her partner.

She met Kirk in the woods and got to know him and the Boarlanders on a more personal level. As she started to fall for the shifter, there was a war brewing and she had to choose a side. Alison choice may not what many expected but it what was best for her.

Kirk Slater was a silverback shifter who did some horrible things in the past, he never thought he wanted ONE mate. After what he did to Kong, he had resigned himself to being alone that was until he met Alison and everything changed.

Kirk and his animal were intrigued by Alison, the latter went through a traumatic ordeal during one of her undercover operations. Even though Kirk tried to push Alison away, they couldn't resist the pull they were feeling for each other.

BOARLANDER SILVERBACK was outstanding....T. S. Joyce knows how to pull at your heartstrings and this time was no different. Kirk fought for Alison and made a life changing decision.

And just when we thought that the IESA was no more, the cruel off the books agency wore its ugly head again. It's great to have the Fire Bears series tied with the series revolving around Damon's mountains.

Like what Cora said, Alison had a set of lady balls, not only did she fight like a badass...She also exposed the IESA for the piece of s*** they were.

Love how Damon Daye always looks out for those he loves, same goes for all the crews in hia mountain. They are one big extended family, one that makes you wished you were a part of it. 5++++

Keep the Boarlander Crew Coming!

This was an excellent addition to the series. I don't know where she gets the stories that are so unique to each couple and shifter, but they're amazing. I am enthralled with each book and always know it's worth my time to invest in the lives of this group. I enjoy several genres of books, but have always been fascinated by paranormal, especially shifters, and this is a top notch writer in this type. Keep 'em coming and I know she is saving Mr. Surly for last and as Bash would say, it will be awesome!

Boarlander Silverback by T.S Joyce was fantastic. Seriously loved this book.

Alison is an undercover cop sent to Damon's mountains to serve as peacekeeper between the shifters and humans. But what is finds is so much better. She gets Kirk, the sexy gorilla shifter who is all for breaking the claiming rule for her.

But what happens when the shifters old enemies come back?? Can Alison save her new family??

Kirk and Allison are two broken people making something out of their shattered parts. Together they build each other back up and fully accept their place in the Boarlander group. Spoiler Alert: The final attack felt slightly rushed since a day or a few hours after the discovery, everything escalates into chaos. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I love T.S. Joyce's writing even if I wasn't particularly taken with these characters. Alison is a strong, savvy woman, well-trained officer--so why didn't she figure out sooner that something was going on. Unfortunately, I thought Alison's problems over-shadowed Kirk. But still a good read.

This is the third book in this series and they should be read in order. This book focuses on Kirk, he is helping out the Boarlanders but is part of Kong’s family group. Alison Holman has been assigned to watch the mountain and enforce the new shifter rules. However, the longer she is on the mountain the more she wonders why they are really watching the shifters. Nothing is happening on the mountain and the shifters aren’t out of control or anything. They are just like everyone else going to work and hanging out with their friends. Then there is the way she feels around Kirk. With things changing for every shifter and Alison being a cop Kirk must decide if he wants to follow his animal and feelings to trust Alison or not. Alison has some decisions to make as well. Should she keep enforcing rules she doesn’t agree with and that are keeping her from the man she loves? This book was interesting. Something is up but Alison isn’t sure what and she doesn’t like her partner either. The shifters trust her but not her partner. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next. All the crews are coming together and danger may be on the horizon for all of them. Each book hooks me a little more. Another fantastic book by T.S. Joyce.

Boarlander Silverback is the third book in the Boarlander Bears series. We first met Kirk in Kong’s book Lowlander Silverback, and I’ve been looking forward to his story ever since. Kirk is a gorilla shifter who is extremely dominant and protective. Alison is an undercover police officer who is assigned to enforce the new government policies for shifters. At first sight Kirk knew Alison was his mate. He fought the attraction as best he could, but Kirk’s animal wanted close to Alison and she felt the attraction as well.

Kirk and his Ally Cat were so cute together. He’s so gruff with everyone else but sweet and cuddly with her. Ally was used to hiding who she was since she’d been undercover for years. Being with Kirk and all his friends allowed her to be herself for the first time.

I’ve noticed this in the other books, but for some reason this particular book really brought it home. The prejudices against the shifters are, in a round about way, very similar to the prejudices that we watch on the news at night or simply witness in our communities. It’s sad that everyone can’t get along and live together. Ultimately, we all live and we all die. Life is short and should be spent living it happy instead of fighting.

Honestly, I was this close to DNFing this one, which is something I've never done with a Joyce book. Something about this just didn't work for me. The insta-love was a bit too strong, but then had nothing really to back it up. The couple didn't really get all couple-y after Kirk admitted Ally was his mate. He didn't communicate much with her, and it just felt like they didn't have much of a relationship. They were just together to be together.

I also didn't like how different their personalities were compared to how they appeared in previous books. Ally comes across so weak in this one, which didn't really fit with her backstory. And all of the things with Kirk and Kong and the gorilla family groups didn't really make such sense. If Kong's alpha-ness caused Kirk to not want to mate, why did Fiona need to make him sign an abstinence contract too? Especially since he wasn't getting his own family group anyway, and Fiona only did all that in Kong's book because she wanted to have babies with Kong. Just didn't make sense.

The last quarter of the book does pick up, so I enjoyed that part of it. Lots of action and potential for new storylines. But this book is definitely not one I'd come back to re-read.

Boarlander Silverback

I always like how direct these characters are with their feelings. At 25 percent into the book, he's already thinking about her constantly.

“I’m hungry, and I want to feed you because apparently I’ve lost my mind and think of stupid shit like that now. Has she eaten today? When does she take her showers? Mornings? Nights? What does she look like when she sleeps? Did she bring warm enough clothes for the cool nights here?” Kirk twirled his finger around his cranium. “It’s a mess in here.”

She's a cop who is not necessarily on the shifter's side, but his gorilla knows better. I like the languaging when she chooses him.

“Like my road has forked—one path leads off into these haunted woods, one leads off a cliff, and the middle one is you. Hands in your pockets, smile on your face, Boarlander woods behind you, just waiting for me to stop considering the self-destructive paths and choose you back.”

Her past is traumatic and complicated, and it's really sweet to watch her fit in so well with the Boarlander crew and finally find a place she belongs.

"Kirk Slater was terrifying, enormous... beautiful."

Kirk's story pleasantly surprised me. I really liked the connection and interactions between him and Ally. They were both people broken by their pasts and were able to understand each other. Ally was head strong and brave and when it came down to it she was ready to defend and protect the shifters in any way she could. The end got a bit crazy and sh*t went down with the IESA which made for quite a story.

"I've always felt invisible, but not with you."

"He didn't see it, but she needed him just as he was. He was perfect, and he didn't even realize it."

Excellent - Highly Recommend Story and Series! Thrilling, Action-Packed PNR!

Contains subject matter that may be offensive or a trigger for some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

While this could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend that this be read in order for maximum enjoyment and to prevent spoilers.

Wow! This one is one action packed, thriller romance! Loved getting to know Alison, the "new" policewoman guarding Damon's mountain. Kirk still belongs to Kong's family unit, but he is dreading the end of the season and having to return. This feeling only increases after he realizes that he has found his mate.

Boarlander Silverback: Boarlander Bears (3)

This series just keeps getting better. I would highly recommend this and the others in this collection of series. I sorted these in publish date order. So far it's "Saw Bears", "Fire Bears", Gray Back Bears", & I'm now reading "Boarlander Bears". I have another 4 series lined up that I think are also connected. Although each of these series have separate stories, this author is also running a continuance one. A familiar baddie pops up in this book, IESA, the agency who'd kidnapped, experimented on and killed shifters. This is another attempt to bring down and destroy shifters. This is another WOW book

Former undercover officer, Alison Holman’s appearance on the mountain brought apprehension to all the crews. Clinton became more obnoxious, Harrison began another downward spiral and Kirk Slater could tell she was just as messed up as he was and he was much too intrigued for his inner human’s liking, his gorilla liked it just fine.

Not my favorite of the series, given the givens the leads relationship was more lack of choice and making do and the pacing was a bit off for my taste or maybe I’d enjoyed the others so much I had expectations. In any event fans will be glad to get to the issues Alison’s arrival brought.

I really loved this book. It's the third book in the Boarlander series which is in series with the Ash crew and the Gray back crew series as well. I recommend starting at the beginning. I loved reading how all the shifters are growing with their mates and children. But in this book was like the climax of the series. A law was passed revoking the rights of shifters. They had to register where they lived and also what crew they belonged to and are no longer to pair up with humans and shifters. I've really enjoyed reading about the shifters and how they have met their mates.

I love the direction this author has gone. Just enough excitement, betrayal and romance to get me to read this in one sitting.
Kong and Kirk having to fight so that Kirk could leave was huge and what happens with Finn, I prefer Phlegm, was something I did not see coming.
Great that Kirk and Ally get their HEA for now, they cannot officially mate due to the back story of IESA raising its ugly head again. But there is real hope that things will change back for the better after Ally’s courageous actions.
