"Your mind can make you poor or rich. It can place you on the pedestal of glory and greatness or dump you in the dust of suffering and shame. Choose glory. Choose life. Choose to use your mind right." (Chris Oyakhilome, The Power of Your Mind)

The foundational Scripture of this book is Romans 12:2:
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

This book focuses on the renewing of the mind to transform your world. So how do you renew your mind? Through the Word of God. He says, "Your prosperity is not essentially determined by your geographical location or the economy of the nation in which you live. What you become in life is largely determined by the content and quality of your mind, because with your mind you can change anything about you: with it, you can establish a perfect structure and administration for your life, and enjoy to the utmost the special life God has given you."

My favourite chapter in this book is chapter 1 when he explains what the renewing of the mind means; he calls this the concept of mind management. He makes it clear that you are responsible for your mind! No one is responsible for the content of your mind but you! Not your parents, not your pastor, not your spouse, YOU! God has given you the ability to manage your mind. This is very empowering. He defines Mind Management as follows: reorganizing or reprogramming your mind (its contents and processes) with God's Word and aligning your thinking, perceptions and mindset about God, other people, the world, and yourself, with the Word. So what is the benefit? He says it will increase your value, multiply your success, upgrade your state, which in turn will upgrade your estate!

God says in his Word,
"'For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,' declares the Lord.
'For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts...
'" (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Therefore, you align your thoughts to God's thoughts by mediation on the Word of God. By meditating on the Word of God, you will begin to see how God sees things. Then you shall make your way prosperous and have good success (See Joshua 1:8). You will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in due season; and in whatever you do, you shall prosper (See Psalm 1:3). Amen!

So, how is this practically played out you may ask? When you are coming into a situation, you apply and meditate on Scripture that pertains to that situation. Like a doctor would prescribe medicine to a patient; you apply the commandments of God to your problem or situation. For example, if you are having doubts that you can prosper because your current financial situation says different, you can mediate on Deuteronomy 8:18, which says, "...you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth..."

Be no longer conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the Word of God, so you can have total victory in Christ! This book shows you how.

great book on the mind, very insightful and practical and straight to the point similar to James Allen's As a man thinketh. One book on the mind that explains a lot about the mind and how to manage it. It's a life changer indeed

Understanding of the importance of your thoughts and how to use them rightly is very paramount and serves as a key to unlock the portals to a glorious life.

The book, “The Power of Your Mind” by Pastor Chris is written to help us discover and understand how best to use the mind so that we can effectively harness the power resident therein and channel its contents in a way that will help us create a vibrant, winning and successful life.

The mind is the faculty of man’s reasoning and thoughts. It holds the power of the imagination, recognition and appreciation, and is responsible for processing feelings and emotions, resulting in attitudes and actions.

By definition, thought is the creation, recalling reviewing, and processing of images for meaning, reason, language, and expression.

It is up to you to process or not to process the images that you get. If you don’t process them to have meaning, they can’t give you a meaning by themselves.

So with our minds we give meaning, interpretation, and reason to the images we receive and process. You can give reason to whatever you create in your mind, and also give it a language for expression.
Also, in the book, answers are provided to questions:
Sources of thought, how do you discern negative thoughts or thoughts emanating from the devil?
Are you responsible for your thoughts?
Does my thoughts affect things around me? The answer to this particular question is yes.
Worth knowing is that we all transmit thoughts, and sometimes we inadvertently transmit negative thoughts into our environment that cause it to turn on us and attack us.

You’ve probably had this experience where you were thinking about someone and that person suddenly showed up, or called you, or sent you a message.

Science calls it TELEPATHY: a transference of thought from one mind to another by extrasensory means. But if you understand the spirituality behind the science, you’ll become ever more careful about the thoughts you allow.

LESSON LEARNT
All the thoughts devil brings are to pollute our mind, blind us from God’s truth, and rob us of the wonderful life God has prepared for us to enjoy.

I am the reflection of my thoughts. My life is the outward manifestation of the inner workings of my mind (see Proverb 23:7)

The book is worth reading!

∞ This book is absolutely infinite. It’s beyond a 5-star!

This book has completely transformed the way I think, see and live. I’m honestly not the same person I was before reading it. Everything now makes so much sense and I can’t wait to keep applying every principle I’ve learned. I’ve already started and I can feel the change happening from within.

It teaches you how to use your thoughts, imagination and words to shape your reality according to God’s Word. Somewhere along the way I understood this isn’t just a book. It’s an experience. It doesn’t aim to motivate you it reshapes you.

A classic on mind management. From reading it you will understand it all boils down to your mind. It's a very powerful tool that needs to be guarded diligently. What you put in or allow, that will be your life whether conciously or unconsciously. The extent of your vision is the boundary of your blessing. Train your mind right.

Thank you so much Pastor Sir, I started studying this "Book of Revelations" yesterday. I am still in Chapter 1, but this far Sir, I just knew by 'the Book' that a man and his mind without its power is a mass of mess! Again, thank you Pastor Sir.

I have read this almost 3 times and currently reading again. It is one of the books that gave me confidence to write my book, the brain, the mind and faith. At a time when many ministers are not talking about the mind or relegating the mind to the background, i couldn't voice out my findings but chancing upon this book and another one The 4th Dimension by Dr Yogi Cho was a great springboard for me. This is a must read.
My book The Brain The Mind and Faith bridges the gap between neuroscience, psychology and faith and i believe that's God's blueprint for complete wholeness

The mind is so powerful. I love how detailed the book covers on the intricacies of the mind. The unlimited potential of the mind and teaching how much power lies with us to wield our minds in the direction we want it. We are not at the mercy of our minds and thoughts, we think. We can, in fact, determine the thoughts and control our minds. I love that I was exposed to that knowledge and power. It all comes down to intentionality.
