This author has potential but

Missed the mark with this one. If the author had picked a story line and stuck with it, this would have been very good. Unfortunately, it comes off as "What story do I want to tell?" Too much time wasted on the love angle of the one night stand. The suicide that spurs them to investigate seems more like an afterthought that gets resolved with one inspirational chat with a minister. The psychotic psychic needs to be better developed. Way too much jumbled mess than flow and follow through. If this author were to try again, take time to weave a story with less shallow characters he would have a winner. I would give this author another try.

This book was a bit off my usual reading diet, But, I really enjoyed it. It was a different type of story, a story which took place in Orange County, and area I was familiar with during my times of living in Santa Monica, and while at home during my "Stateside" periods while in the Navy. I'm usually not as fond of the Supernatural, or Horror Genres as I once was, having read a Lot of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Ann Rice, but this Book was an exception to that preference. I will be reading more of Jacob Mesmer, as soon as he writes some more !
