In this book I want to prove to the reader that the Bible offers a satisfactory answer to the “why” questions many have in relation to an omnipotent but good God in contrast to the rampant heart-breaking evil we see in our world. Many people are fed up with the standard Christian responses on this subject. Though some claim to give Biblical answers to our “why” questions we often receive responses that consign much of God’s alleged activity to “divine mysterious purposes.” I pray that I will be able to answer some of your “why” questions in a satisfactory manner. I believe that the answers I provide here are enough to vindicate God’s goodness and justice in the light of evil. I also believe that this book will help you to see a picture of a loving God who never planned any of this evil and pain. I hope you will see that He is at war with evil, is doing all that He can to rescue us from evil now and who will, in His omnipotence, one day rid this universe of evil forever.

While I found reading this book written by its author, Troy Edwards, to be quite an enlightening experience in his wanting to educated me and the rest of its readers and wanting to exonerate the Lord for all the righteousness and evenhandedness he possesses when taken one considers all of the widespread evil which exists in the world today. The one thing which has crept up in my mind regarding this dichotomy connected to the Lord, can be found in his own apparent confession which is located in
Isaiah 45:7 [ESV] I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things.
However, due to the Lord’s complexity which definitely exists we must look pass this scripture and to look the bigger picture regarding Him. We need to repeatedly ask the proliferating question of WHY, until we receive a satisfying answer. And reason I’m saying proliferating question is that when we usually ask why, the answer we receive usually begets another question of why followed by another answer which begets another set of question/answer until we’re satisfied or get tired asking.
If this sounds all too familiar, it should as it’s like a conversation a mother might have with her child as why they can’t do/or have something. For many of us are still like these children, especially when it comes to knowing and understanding all of the Lord’s greatest and holiness. And while the ultimate answer we’re searching for might not be given in this book, Mr. Edwards definitely wants to set us on a path where we can be like these children and to see that the Lord has never really planned for all of the negativity and evil which exists in the world today.
For writing this book in the manner and purpose it has been written for, it’s only fitting that the author. Troy Edwards, receive the 5 STARS he’s gotten from this reviewer of Christian books.
