Tensions in the born vampire territory are high as intrigue and betrayal threaten to tear apart the main vampire council. In the center of it all is a woman who remembers nothing beyond the day before the initial Moon virus outbreak.
Lexi has been called crazy more than once in her life, so when she finds herself in a creek with no clue how she got there, she assumes she’s finally lost her mind. That is until she discovers her frightening heritage and ends up in the care of a sexy shapeshifter who refuses to accept that she’s too much trouble. As Lexi comes to terms with who she is, an unknown enemy is determined to use her as a weapon against her father. Will she end up being little more than a pawn in a madman’s scheme?
Zane has always been impulsive and somewhat irresponsible, knowing that as the youngest, his father doesn’t expect much from him. That is until his father’s position as leader of the lynx shapeshifters is threatened, and he issues Zane an ultimatum—find a mate or accept the mate his father has chosen for him. Zane has little hope of finding his true mate until he rescues a mysterious woman. He has no clue how she ended up in lynx territory—he only knows that Lexi is his, and he will do anything to protect her.
Cassandra Lawson lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and her two youngest children. When she is not writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, or curling up with a good book.
Another explosively tempting read in Cassandra Lawson's Moon Virus series! Impulsive Destiny was a real joy to read. I loved Lexi. And Zane, WOWZA, was he YUMMY! I absolutely adore the world that Miss Lawson created. The many types of paranormal creatures out there are amazing. I loved seeing some old faces and new ones too. And I REALLY liked the mystery behind Lexi. And the fact that she isn't 100% sure about her heritage either, was a fantastic surprise!
The chemistry between Zane and Lexi was undeniable and yummy as all get out. I loved the danger and the even the violence. Its full of action, lots of sizzling passion and yummy sex! And the plot...perfect!
Impulsive Destiny gets a WILD FIVE SHOOTING STARS! These books get better and better. I love the unexpected and I feel Miss Lawson delivers on that in every book. A DEFINITE MUST READ!
I have absolutely loved this series of books, they have compulsive story lines, lovable characters even if they don't start out that way and great social commentary as subplots. Zane is a lovable rogue who turns out to be an amazing mate for Lexi. The interwoven stories show hints of future books, but the individual books are good lengths (88 chapters), well edited stand alone stories which you don't always get from indi author's. Part of Kindle Unlimited so a good value big read.
Zane is officially my favorite Moon Virus character. Cassandra Lawson has managed to create a character who has crept up on me, cuddled up close, and crawled right into my heart. What a sweet being he is, almost innocent, though clearly not. Something about the love he shares with Lexi is pure and inspiring.
Lexi is an amazing character as well and her parents are surprising, not only for who they are, but also for their actions. Though this book is clearly focused on Zane and Lexi, it was wonderful to see Cam and Claire finally work things out. There was plenty of angst and emotion connected to them.
Though this book was tense like the others, this time it was a new antagonist with scary powers. Though he made me nervous, I never felt the anxiety I felt with some of the others. I really loved this book, especially the characters.
I have read all of the moon virus books and love the vampires but when the author introduced the playful and sexy lynx shifters I've been desperately waiting for their book and It was GOOD!
The main lynx men we know are Zane, Cam and Jase, in this book we get to hear from their dad Max too, very interesting characther. Back to Zane, his being pushed to produced an heir to the clan, he has no mate so it appears he will just have to go and impregnate a willing female in heat. Cam is still pining over Claire, she's a difficult one, she really has tough walls to knock down.
Lexi, suddenly finds herself drowning in a creek, luckily there's a hot naked man about to rescue her. Zane likes being naked, he's a shifter and very touchy feely, oops went off track - the Zane effect! Lexi is one confused lady, as she appears to have lost 100 years and the world has changed in a massive way, its very weird for her but she find comfort from the man that saved her - she doesn't understand why but Zane does - Lexi is Zanes destined mate.
The storyline is all encompassing and you just have to keep turning pages, so much is happening - there is still unrest in the vampire settlements. Cam is doing his best to win over Claire. There is lots of suspicion over who and what Lexi is and why she's there, then of course there's Arawn and the baddie who I have to say I rather liked.... How could I like the baddie, he was hurt, he lost his love (yes she sounded evil) but he loved her and he wants revenge.
The author has done a great job interweaving two romances into one book and the result is your left feeling very satisfied.
I really enjoy this series it just seems to get better and draw you in more each book, the other charachers always appear through the books so its great to see how things are developing with them, I still have a soft spot for Connor the leader, he has so much he has to balance, luckily he has his woman Raven to back him up, well when she's not disagreeing with him.
In a two-for-one special, you get two sexy lynx stories of complete opposites. On the one hand, you have Cam and Claire, with Cam still chasing after Claire but to no avail. On the other hand, you have Zane and Lexi where the attraction (and the mating) is almost instantaneous.
By focusing on these two stories, you feel so much more depth and emotion from the two couples as they balance each other out. Lexi is a wonderful character who is well-rounded. Claire continues to fight her attraction to Cam and remains a pillar of strength for Connor.
Well-written, well-paced, and with no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this is a wonderful addition to the Moon Virus series. Mitchell intrigues me more and more with every book, but I'll say no more as I don't want to spoil it for anyone else. Definitely recommended.
* I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. *
Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Apr 22, 2016
So this is book 5 in the series. I was a little nervous reading it because I have not read any of the other series, and was worried I'd be a little lost, but the synopsis sounded too good to pass on!
I really enjoyed this book and I found that the storyline was very intriguing and quite different than any other book I've read. The books surroundings and events that were going on were obviously new to me, but i really was not lost reading this as a standalone. Plus it helps that the author sort of reiterates certain events as a reminder. That said, I do wish I had read the others in the series with this, because I bet they are amazing as well, so I'll have to go back and read the others.
All in all I think the story had a nice flow to it and the author does a good job of keeping your attention. I also love the mix of shifters, vamps and fae, it definitely quenched my paranormal thirst! Great read and can't wait to read more from this author!
