After a disastrous appearance on the hit reality TV show, Eye in the Sky, Justin Kilburn decided to open a bakery in his hometown of East Aurora, New York.
With all that behind him, he sunk his heart and soul into opening, Olivia’s, a bakery named after his mother who died of cancer when he was a boy.
Everything was going just as planned except for his escalating feelings—and libido—for Blake Williams, Jr., local hottie and Justin’s landlord. But Justin promised himself he would stay away from men, especially those who look like Blake.
Blake Williams, Jr. doesn’t intend to stay in East Aurora for too much longer. But before taking his rightful place at the company’s headquarters in New York City alongside his father, he has to prove he deserves the position first. With his numbers good and goals being met, Blake’s focus begins to blur due to the handsome baker from across the street. He was definitely not a part of Blake’s plan.
But like his tasty treats, Blake can’t resist taking a bite … then another … and then another.
Reader Caution: This story contains hot men and even hotter buns, some you can eat and some you just want to savor slowly. Consider this to be your only warning so don’t get burned!
Alex Carreras believes there is nothing sexier than a hot, naked man with a cocky attitude and a sultry smile. Always on the hunt for inspiration, you will find Alex wherever there are attractive men, hopefully in a state of undress. And since he lives in South Florida where the average yearly temperature is a balmy 82 Fahrenheit, there is certainly no shortage of inspiration.
Treating Blake was a cute and fun story with a bit of suspense thrown in for good measure and I thoroughly enjoyed this mismatched pair.
After an appearance on a reality television show goes very wrong, Justin Kilburn is back in his hometown of East Aurora, New York and opening a bakery in memory of his late mother, Olivia. What he doesn't expect is to find himself attracted to and dating the building's landlord, Blake Williams, Jr.
These were two very different men with two very different goals in life; Justin was perfectly happy in this small town and planned to remain there and work hard for the rest of his life and Blake has visions of a promotion within his father's company and a cushy New York City office but after their initial awkwardness goes away it is easy to see the affection for one another shine through. Okay so maybe it was more lust shining through at first but they did both seem to genuinely care for one another.
As crazy things begin happening at the bakery and Justin feels himself being watched it is obvious someone is out to hurt him or his business, he just doesn't realize that threat isn't as real as another one looming.
I enjoyed watching these two fall for each other and while I would have liked them to spend more time in the getting to know you stage, Treating Blake was an entertaining, enticing, and sexy story.
While this is a short story, the characters aren't short on depth. I do wish the author would have spent a little more time on the conclusion though as it ended too abruptly.
It's a slow buildup on the story but has good character development. A believable relationship building with a side of intrigue. I like that the author capped things off with an epilogue that resolved everything.
